There have been different markets here over the years. I’ve come by now-and-then for a snack. This new place has a café/deli inside which I decided to try the other day. They had a few full trays in the display but for some reason the lady took awhile to acknowledge me – she went back and forth to one of the tables twice past me. Weird. Finally a lady talked to her and pointed at me. Obviously, I knew English was a minimum, at best. So, i used hand gestures to point to the fried rice & tofu tray and what looks like roasted chicken tray. I ate it for dinner before heading out for the night and it was actually pretty good! And stupid value, too! $ 3 for a typical to-go container for the rice stuff and $ 3 for a half container of the chicken. It’s easier if you can flow with vietnamese; if not, use simple english and hand gestures. =P I’d like to come back when the stuff is fresh and hot. I think the space was called«Café Phở?».
