The worst bartender/server in all of Seattle hands down. Sat down and it took about 10 min for the server to come over, ok whatever, ordered 2 Bloody Mary’s which took almost 30 min to get, nobody came over to apologize for the wait or to see if we wanted anything else while we waited. After we go our drinks half way thru we decided to order another round a head of time to avoid the wait. WHAT A JOKE. We had to wait another 40 fucking minutes before we could even order!!! The short blonde bitch who was serving blatantly ignored our table! She was hanging all over a group of gay guys chattin it up with them as we’re trying to wave at her to come over. She talked to Them for 10 – 15 minutes before walking back to the bar to check her phone them clean a table then go talk to them some more. Dumb bitch was standing talking to some dude probably her boyfriend by the door instead of tending to table or you know… Customers. After a while it just became a game, we bet shots at the next bar(lord knows we weren’t going to stay here they get an F– for customer service) how much longer they were going to ignore us. As the one girl was too busy with her boyfriend and and bartender girl was walking around like a zombie we finally got zombie girl to come over. If you’re not a group of gay guys these bitches will ignore the shit out of you. And the drinks weren’t even that good! 1.5 stars for the garnishes on the Bloody Mary’s and a half star for the homeless guy sitting out front yelling at people detouring them away from this terrible place. Lose the bitches.

Every weekend I get a chance to go out, my friends and I make it a point to stop at Sams tavern because of the superior service we receive every time from crystal and Nava! As a gay male you wouldn’t think Sams is my typical Saturday night chill spot, but these two women make us feel safe and very well taken care of. I can always count on them ensuring my friends and I have a great time and a full drink in hand. Without them this place wouldn’t be the same! Thank you!

If you like nasty bartenders who are rude as soon as you order your first drink, this is your spot. Me, I will *never* go back — ever

As you can probably already tell, many people go to this place for the amazing bloody Mary’s or the dollar rainier beers! Bloody’s are delicious, and if you get the one with all the fixins the burger on top I actually REALLY good. A little steep at $ 14, but it is Cap Hill. Without the burger it’s $ 10. It’s got a great grunge feel, which is right up my alley. I’ve also been here on weekend nights and it gets packed! Order two beers at a time If you want because the line can get pretty serious.

Was in last night for a night cap and some food. the lady working had the worst attitude Ive seen in a long time. I asked her what they had for wine and she said«we have a white and a red» and when I asked her what the red was she rolled her eyes and said«its a blend, the bottle just says red blend!» like I had asked her 10 questions about it? I bartend myself and I get when its the end of the night and youre over it and this chick was way way way way over it. I didnt notice we had ketchup already and when our food came, I grabbed one from the condiments area and she came over, snatched it up like I had done the last offensive thing I could Possibly do to her on a Sunday, told me I already had ketchup at the table and she didnt want to fill another ketchup up again!(Cuz that would take, dunno, 25 seconds) Lol ugh lady… I cant imagine you on a busy night.

Absolutely loved the bloody Mary’s. Glad I found this spot on Unilocal while visiting Seattle. I’ll definitely return when I go back to Seattle. Oh and their chili is great too!

Think grungy cap hill DIVE bar. Now add incredibly succulent gourmet burgers and a stupidly over priced bloody marry.(Worth the first novelty every time though.) I’ll be the first to admit I’m no savant when it comes to concoctions such as bloody Mary’s and I never thought I’d be a fan. This is the first place I’ve acquired a taste for them. I feel like that says something. On the other hand I do know a thing or two about a good burger and this place for sure lands my top 10 list for Seattle. Now again, this is a dive bar. Which means grungy sometimes dirty dark tight spaces and cheap domestic beers specifically PBR. Which don’t fancy my refined pallet for microbrews. But that’s still a thing. My biggest draw back about this place is in the several visits I’ve had here the service has always been sub par and lacking urgency to check up on us for drinks. Shame cause I only spend more when I’m asked to.

First time here. Came out from California to try the bloody Mary I heard so much about. I was not disappointed one but. I loved the Bloody Mary and everything that came with it, it was like a small meal. Ordered the Aloha Burger and it was simply amazing. It was everything a burger should be, juicy, messy and melts in your mouth.

Growing up in Minnesota has ruined bloody mary’s for me because the best bloody mary’s are made in Minnesota. I know, your head probably just blew off reading that statement. It doesn’t matter where you go, it’s always going to be delicious from pepper-infused vodka to a «meal in a glass.» Minnesotans have nothing better to do in the winter but bowl and concoct bloody mary’s and other cocktails. That brings me to Sam’s and my two-star review. I had no idea Sam’s was known for their bloody mary’s until the hubby and I arrived mid-day on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago. The space is a bit grungy, not quite dive bar-esque but the $ 1 cans of beer on offer basically all day long sure do push it toward dive bar on the bar spectrum. My husband ordered a bloody mary and I said, «two please» and then the server asked if we wanted the Sam’s bloody mary or otherwise and I had no idea what this meant so I just followed my husband’s lead since he apparently had Googled«best bloody mary in Seattle» and up came Sam’s. The Sam’s bloody mary is a really bad bloody mary topped with a slider and skewered with an olive, lime wedge, nugget of beef stick, and a cube of pepperjack cheese. The bloody mary was honestly one of the worst I’ve had in the United States of America. I do not remember the exact price of the Sam’s bloody mary but it was either $ 13 or $ 14 dollars. So basically $ 8 for the bloody mary and $ 6 for a slider. I believe $ 6 at Sam’s could get you an entire hamburger but whatever. I was completely shocked when I saw our bill. I won’t be returning, not even in May when my friends from university visit Seattle for a long, boozy weekend. I think this is probably the case with a lot of Sam’s customers — they come for the decorated bloody mary and leave with empty pockets, smelling of a greasy spoon, and filled with disappointment.

We got Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde as our bartenders tonight. One lady is super sweet and helpful while the other one is unnecessarily rude. Therefore, one gets five stars and the other gets one. Averages out to three. Granted Mr. Hyde could be having a rough day, but her attitude isn’t helping anyone.

Sam’s is our favorite«go to» for a Bloody Mary. Mostly because of the slider garnish on this monstrosity. The best, juiciest, tastiest slider for those who can’t handle a big, fat burger here, which are just as incredibly tasty. Bottomless fries are always freshly made to order and are delicious! The location is fun and every time we walk in these same waitresses have been here for at least the 4 or 5 years we’ve been coming in. They’re always friendly and very attentive. The décor is fun and kitschy with usually classic rock playing in the background. Today is was upbeat Motown, which was perfect for this blustery, rainy day!

Sam’s Tavern is simply refreshing. A cross between an old man bar and hipster dufus crowd with groomed beards wearing flannel clothing. Really this place is an oasis from Seattle’s downtown core to sit and grab a beer or grub. Burgers are fantastic and come in regular or mini sized. Wings are spectacular but not over spiced, just right for a nibble. But them gem is the chilli in this joint. The chili is thick & rich and filled with meaty boulders of flesh. I was blown how much meat was in my bowl. It’s no vegan treat but then again meat is not murder it’s a lifestyle and Frank loves it. Now before you leave, Frank insists you have a Bloody Mary, cause what’s life without a good one.(Am I wrong) However you may order this spicy vodka delight super sized with mini burger and almost a garden salad stuffed into it. Keep in mind Sam’s offers a regular version free of garden farm. Enter the beer garden of life @ Sam’s and hang with real people, cause keeping it real it what it’s all about.

I bookmarked Sam’s Tavern for their Bloody Mary’s with hamburgers on them which seems to be what the place is best known for but Steve and I just left a new brewery in Capitol Hill and so drinking more alcohol would have came back and we would have paid for it dearly. Especially in the case of mixing alcohol so when we reached here the foremost thing on our minds was just to get something to eat. The place was extremely busy and we were lucky to get a seat without having to wait. If we had to wait it probably would have been hours after the Seahawks game that everyone was glued to on the tv because nobody was budging. So after getting sat down we looked around the atmosphere and started enjoying it. To eat Steve got a nice, big burger which was good! I got their Taco Salad which was very good! In fact I enjoyed my dining selection a bit more. I have no complaints about the service or anything really. It was a fun, quirky place… something I enjoy going to when visiting Capitol Hill.

The rustic feel of an authentic dive bar welcomes you amongst the locals. It’s the kinda feeling that makes you want to order a pabst blue ribbon. The Bloody Mary with a slider on itZ yes a slider, also garnished with pepper jack cheese a spicy sausage. An onion some olives. Not to mention how smooth it tastes and perfect combined. It’s a drink and an appetizer the best combo as your taste buds prepare for the 41st best rates burger in America. Get the 50⁄50 burger it is worth every penny… bacon avocado onions angus beef and a bun. Wow.

This place wasn’t exactly what I expected it to be but the décor and ambiance just isn’t my kind of scene. Despite that — the service was friendly, kind of slow but it seemed there was only 2 servers at the time and it was kind of busy. What I came here for was their Bloody Mary and boyyyy maybe I’m sensitive to alcohol but it was strong but the their tomato juice blend balanced it out really well! I love the spice! The accompaniments that came with it paired wonderfully with each sip! Of course the slider is the most unique snack that came with it and I was surprised on how juicy and flavorful the patty was! Tasting the slider made me want to come back and try their actual full-sized burgers on the menu. But if you’re ever in cap hill stop in Sam’s, the Bloody Mary is a drink you should try!

It’s a Red Robin for adults. The place is really casual, with a bunch of random garage-sale artwork on the walls, much like what you’d find at RR. The food is even spot-on; the burgers aren’t bad but they’re not that special. In my most recent visit, my friend and I ordered the $ 14 bloody mary that everyone seems to love here. The slider was legit, but the bloody mary drink wasn’t as strong or spicy as we would’ve liked. Also note that it takes 15 minutes to make, with all its fixin’s. Get it once, say you drank it, and never get it again.

I’ve only been here for drinking and some random bar foods. First, can I say that their bloody Mary’s are great! wow. It does take a while to order but you know why? there’s a slider that comes with it and its a great slider. Juicy and moist in the center. YUMMMMMMMMMY! and they make their own bloody mary mix which is great! it does have a kick to it so if you are a wuss, do not pass go, do not collect your bloody mary. I went when it was bloody mary hh which means they are $ 7. what a great deal! they also have $ 1 Rainier. As for the food, again, the slider was great. I’ve gotten fries from here before, they remind me of red robin’s fries which are yummy. Service could be a bit better but they were nice and it was pretty busy when I went. I will be back for another bloody mary

Was in Cap Hill the other day hanging out with a friend, and she saw they had drink specials on their website so we done headed over there to grab a drink. Went there later in the afternoon and there were only a few people sitting at the bar. Bartender was nice but the only special they had was $ 1 canned Rainier Beer. That’s it. They need to update their website. We didn’t try any of their burgers, food or specialty drinks like the bloody mary, we only stayed to have 1 beer. Watched the Sounders game while drinking our beer and we were out! Very casual, divey place with interesting décor but I do like the bar top with the pennies a lot.
