I… hmmm…I work nearby and have only been in for lunch once. I found everyone who worked there to be extremely friendly and welcoming, and I enjoyed sitting by the windows to eat my panini, which I ordered mostly based on Unilocal recommendations. The panini bread was… not bread. I guess that’s to be expected from a flatbread café, but I was expecting something more like a grilled sandwich bread rather than a(fried? surprisingly oily in any case) flatbread. The sandwich filling was pretty tasty and the portion size was spot on, but the oiliness of the bread left a bad impression and I suppose that’s why I haven’t been back.

in the building I work in so thought I’d give it a try. Meh — I’ve had better and for the $$ not worth it.

I work in an office in the US Bank Centre and this is my absolute FAVORITE place to eat at on my lunch break. The wait is never too bad, the staff is just AWESOME, and the food is INCREDIBLE. The buffalo chicken panini is my favorite, and I seem to get it every week. The prices are decent, and there are good places to sit. Also, ‘checking in’ has its perks … try it out!

Stopped in for a quick lunch between appointments. Not bad for a casual lunch place — very friendly service, though a little bit on the slow side. I had a cold chicken wrap; the lettuce and tomato were fresh, but the chicken was a little spongy and tasted of the pre-packaged institutional variety. It wasn’t bad, but on the other hand, nothing I’d make a special trip for.

Sandella’s was a nice little unexpected surprise. I found this place while wandering around downtown aimlessly trying to decide what to eat for lunch. We walked into Sandella’s and found a lady behind the register who was all smiles. The menu had way more than just flatbread options, and I have to admit I got a little excited. I ordered the provolone and veggie panini. And upon check-in, I received a free side item. The lady strongly suggested the side greek salad to accompany my panini. I admitedly ate the salad first, and it was crisp and fresh. Absolutely delicious. The panini? I ended up eating it for a late night snack long after the work day had ended, and it was amazing semi-cold and reheated hours after it was prepared, which speaks volumes for itself. I will definitely return!

Thought I would give this place a second try after my chicken wrap(that tasted very strange and wet) the first time. The service is so friendly, and the mediterranean quesadilla sounded fantastic — how could you go wrong with those ingredients?! So here I am as I type this on my lunch break. Somehow, this placed managed to take some of my most favorite ingredients and transform them to taste nothing like their natural flavor. I tried to pinpoint it and that’s it — this flatbread creation I am eating tastes like soup. How could it taste like soup? I have no idea. Like Chicken Noodle no less. I am convinced they cook their meet and boil their veggies/olives all in one distinct flavor — whatever the chicken noodle flavor is — and then dump it onto the flatbread because it’s soooo wet, and they’ve masked the natural profiles of each ingredient. Mind-boggling honestly. If I wanted soup, I would have visited the Soups dude downstairs. Sorry Sandella’s — I loved your concept, and the verbiage made everything you serve sound amazing, but you’re a wreck!

Sandellas was not a place I had specifically planned on going back to however my first review promoted the owner, Chris, to ask me back for another try as they revised a large amount of things based on their recent feedback. This tine around, while my presence was expected, the customer service was exemplary. I had a chance to meet Chris and talk with her about the place, the food and what their plans were. I’m very impressed with the outreach. This time I had a Hawaiian barbeque salad type item with plenty of meat, cheese and fresh veggies. This was much better than the other item I tried previously. Hats off to them trying to reinvent themselves, their service and quality.

Wow. Was this place really THAT horrible? My coworker and I popped into this mall for lunch and he chose this spot. He had a Brazilian chicken flatbread while I chose the Greek quesadilla. His flatbread was not colorful and he regretted choosing something without vegetables. My quesadilla was the neatest quesadilla I’ve ever had. It was richly filled. Honestly, I’m still full even though it’s been 5 hours since. They were really really heavy on the onions though. A yogurt and breath mint, breath spray and water later, I still can’t get that taste fully out. Ugh. I am pretty sure they use the same bread for everything but they do call it a flatbread place. All in all, this place was average. It was a little too heavy for my taste buds. I probably wouldn’t go back because there are so many good places downtown but in my humble, one-time visitor’s opinion, it was hardly offensive enough to merit a 2-star rating.

The most disgusting lunch I have had all year! I will confess I was in the mood for something Asian – unusual for me but I really wanted to go to PF Chang’s or something like that. But being the Holiday season, I was worried that PF Chang’s would be too crowded so I opted to go to the City Centre building in which I seemed to remember there being some kind of Asian Inspiration type of place. I was somewhat correct: There is a sushi place, but they literally only serve sushi – no yakisoba, not even fried rice. So I went next door to Sandella’s. I thought it would be just fine. The menu looked good, even though it was completely different than what I’d had my taste buds geared up for. I asked the very friendly woman at the counter what was good there and she immediately suggested the Brazilian Flatbread(sandwich?). She then went on to suggest something she called her«own creation» which, if I remember correctly, consisted of something with bacon and ranch sauce. I wasn’t really in the mood for that so I said okay to the Brazilian Chicken thing. It sounded interesting. It also sounded small and I was really hungry so I also ordered the sweet potato fries and a coke. The total came to almost $ 14 dollars, which was much higher than what I was expecting(you can get an excellent sandwich and fries at Nordstrom Grill for less). Long story short(er), this was probably one of the strangest things I have ever eaten! It basically was a small, flat pizza-like thing, from frozen crust, that had a few pieces of chicken and a sprinkle of cheese that was completely smothered in, and dripping with the«brazilian» sauce. I took a bite. Again – one of the strangest things I have ever eaten! The sauce tasted like plain mustard with a lot of sugar added to it! That was it – overly sweet mustard with a little bit of chicken and cheese on frozen flatbread. Thank goodness I had the mostly burnt, completely flavorless sweet potato fries to soften the blow! Gross, gross, gross! I don’t know if I mentioned this, but gross. And I had no idea that French’s Mustard with sugar was such a delicacy in Brazil.

Not impressive whatsoever. It’s pretty hard to mess up sweet potato fries, but they manage to do it. They need to step it up a notch, they’re in a great traffic lunch sport and could do well!

And I HAVE experienced better, as the 2-star rating says. It wasn’t absolutely terrible, it just didn’t excite or satisfy me the few times I’ve given it a shot here at Sandella’s. I’ve had the veggie and provolone panini and the southwestern quesadila. The panini is more of a grilled wrap and the chipotle flavor is strong which makes it fine, but the bread is too thick, dry and hard and required a knife to get through it. The quesadila to my surprise had little to no flavor and was Boring with a capital B. I think they use the same kind of bread for all their items(quesadila, panini, wraps, etc). Disappoint me once, shame on you; disappoint me twice, shame on me.

I work in City Centre and was excited to see another lunch option… I’m not big on heavy stuff in the middle of the day(hello, desk job!) so was hoping this would have light alternatives. The sandwiches didn’t look like anything more than basics and nothing really called to me so I decided on a Caesar salad. What a major disappointment… I was given a prepackaged container of romaine containing cheap croutons and a small side of dressing(probably Kraft). $ 7? Seriously? I didn’t feel the love, either from the staff or the food. I will not be going back.

AH! So sad. I had a free meal coming to me and I made the disastrous choice of getting the Chipotle Chicken Wrap from Sandella’s Flatbread. Upon initial unwrapping of the paper… all looked good. But with my first bite, and subsequent bite… no good. No taste… none at all. SUPER dry. The chicken had the taste(or lack thereof) and texture of canned chicken. There was so much lettuce… and few pieces of chicken, and I guess some type of sauce, but you’d be hard-pressed to find it. Really disappointed — no chance of going back. I don’t even know how much it was since it was free for me… but even free was NOT worth it!

So the place is called sandella’s flatbread, «BUT» on their menu they have«Paninnis» or at least their own version of them, it was actually a burrito called paninni, made on a flatbread, which it tasted terrible, it was the«tuscan chicken paninni» with what they call: «pesto sauce», which it wasn’t, it was just three pieces of basil, no sauce at all, plain basil, a lot of cheese, sundried tomatoes and of course, the flatvread with 4 pieces of chicken. The service was excellent, i am going to give them that!, after all is not the employees fault I guess! Pricey for what you get, not tasty at all, never going back in there!

Friendly service in an uninspiring space(think one notch above a Subway). But, since this is counter service, it’s the food that matters most. Here, a tasty, affordable panini on flatbread. The flavor of the flatbread is(ahem) flat, but the other ingredients were delish. I was verging on 3 stars but the service was super fast, which deserves a bump.

Not bad, and pretty fast service too – rivaling a certain nearby sub shop. I enjoyed their Tuscan chicken panini. It was a hot and zesty choice. I’ve heard mixed reviews of their«buffalo» though. The food here seems a bit healthier than the aforementioned sub shop – the flatbread should be lower in carbs than most other bread. This isn’t my favorite lunch spot, but it’s a good option. I’d recommend giving it a shot if there’s something on the menu that sounds good to you. In fact, I think I just talked myself into going there more regularly(it’s way cheaper than my favorite, sushi).

After seeing this sign hanging outside of the building for two weeks, I finally found this place, and it’s not too bad. I had the buffalo chicken panini, since I am pathologically unable to resist buffalo anything. It wasn’t really a panini as I would call it, but almost a grilled wrap… think taco bell grilled stuffed burrito, almost, but in a really good crispy flatbread. The fillings were kind of normal — bleu cheese, buffalo sauce, and chicken, plus — and this where lots of buffalo wraps go wrong — celery! Yes — to all of you who hate celery, it’s delicious along with buffalo wings, so why not include it in the wrap. That’s a win. The price was right, very reasonable for lunch, even including a drink. I may or may not be back. there’s nothing wrong with this, but between teriyaki and pork trucks and clam chowder, I’m kind of trying to focus on food I can’t find back home in Chicago.
