Seattle Findings

I needed supplies in a hurry so I had to drive to Seattle Findings and Supply vs. ordering online. I received friendly and knowledgeable help and went home. The same evening my new dead blow hammer completely came apart! Seattle Findings not only quickly and apologetically exchanged it, they went the extra mile by giving me a discount on my next purchase. Great service– I will absolutely be back!

All I can say is plan ahead and order from Rio Grande. Not sure how this place has the previous five star reviews because their «customer service» is non existent. Each time I have had to go to Seattle Findings in a pinch because I couldn’t wait for a delivery from Rio Grande, I’ve driven downtown, paid the $ 7 parking, went in and they have been out of items that according to their website are in stock, in store. Today was no different, I should’ve known better and called ahead of time, since from experience the staff here seem to have no clue how to keep items in stock. I drove down in Friday rush hour traffic to drop $ 400 on a jewelers bench, which it says on the website they have in stock and can be picked up in store. I walk in and ask, what benches they have in stock and the two people working laugh delighted and say «None!»…I was like «you guys really need to update your website to reflect that.» The woman tells me they sold out of all of them in the last three days… ok. So I’m standing there expecting that they will get up to talk to me about options and when they will have more in. Standard customer service right? Wrong, the woman proceeds adjust the blinds in the window and then walk out of the store and the man «working» is just sitting behind the counter staring blanking at a computer screen. I take a few minutes to look at the benches on display and am just standing there kind of bewildered, wondering if these people are really acting this way. Most businesses would be pretty interested in nailing down a $ 400 sale, apparently not at Seattle Findings. It seems the fact that they are the only place in Seattle that jewelers can buy from directly allows for them to do the bare minimum, barely acknowledging customers if the mood doesn’t strike them. I spend a great deal of money on metals and supplies for silversmithing and am still setting up my shop, and I will never step foot int his place again. Incredibly rude and unprofessional people here. I really wish there was another option for us Seattle jewelers run by people who care about their customers, because it would be nice to have a relationship with a local company. Really avoid at all costs and buy from Rio Grande.
Quick update:
I just ordered a jewelers bench from Otto Frei for $ 285. The exact same bench was $ 399 at Seattle findings and the man working there told me it’d be «something like another $ 300 for shipping». The shipping for the same bench from Otto Frei was $ 65. Not sure where Seattle Findings is getting their numbers from but definitely shop around and save yourself the aggravation and a couple hundred bucks.

Great place for jewelry supplies. Leah has been helping me with mine for years and years! I appreciate the time she takes to find the right item and make sure I’m getting the best value.

I called this company out of the blue for materials that I needed immediately. Leah worked with me tirelessly and kindly to make sure I received the items as soon as humanly possilbe (and I’m on the other side of the country). From the time of the call to delivery was around 24 hours for an item no one else in the country could provide. Excellent service — I would recommend to anyone who asked. I will also call them first when I’m left in a lurch by other suppliers. THANK YOU Leah and Seattle Findings! I have been a customer of Seattle findings almost as long as I have been a jeweler (18 years)!
They are absolutely wonderful, not only in their selection of jewelry findings, and supplies, but in their ability to get in special products as well. Their proffesionalism, and personable staff are always willing to help, and find exactly what you need. I understand there are alternatives online, but where else will you find someone who actually knows what the product is for, how to use it, and can connect you with others in the industry the way Seattle Findings can.
They are a great resource, both for supplies and for the jewelry industry.
