Look my pictures back in 2010, I joined Seattle Greenlake Running Group. It has grown from a hand full of people to more than a hundred plus of runners. I have to say, I am really proud of being a member of SGLRG. I found SGLRG via Meetup. That says, this is free to join. It was right before my 1st half-marathon. Honestly, I was so intimidated when I first joined because I was a beginner. DON’T BE because in SGLRG there’s a Laker Group designated to beginning runners. There are so many good things to say about this group: 1) There are always events 7 days a week. The Leader, Loka and the organizers set up events 7 days a week. Monday — Track run(morning and evening) Tuesday — casual run Wednesday — casual run(morning) Thursday — casual run(social event after) Friday — Friday morning run around Lake Union Saturday — Distance run(Group #1 at 7AM and Group # 2 at 9AM with brunch) Sunday — Recovery run 2) You can find different distance routes and paces. It is nice to have someone to run with you especially you are new 3) There are also activities for kids 4) There are events to educate runners about injuries and the importance of form, shoes, etc. 5) There are plans developed for people who are interested in half or full marathons 6) A group of awesome runners who are passionate about running and other outdoor activities and not shy about helping each other out Mostly importantly, Running has been a life chancing for me and SGLRG has been a great support to me throughout these years. I can’t say enough good things about SGLRG. You don’t have to believe what I said! You just have to experience it yourself!
