After exhaustive research, I decided against having my daughter or myself on a flame retardant treated mattress, as they can use any toxins; have no requirement to list chemicals used; and, are mostly poisonous as well as absorbed through breathing and the skin.
I checked many of the companies that claim to make «organic» mattresses, however; most of them «use» organic — among other — materials.
Seattle Natural Mattress is the only place I found that has 100% organic, chemical free natural latex mattresses at a price that doesn’t require sacrificing small children to the demons of the nether hells or selling appendages on the black market.
Tim was great, took the time to make sure I knew what I was getting, made adjustments until I was satisfied, and even rushed my order.
The art of customer service is NOT dead, it lives here, and I must say this has been money exceptionally well spent!

This is a five-​star company. Owner Tim Ley makes, sells and delivers his mattresses made of natural, botanical latex. We came to Seattle Natural Mattress as refugees from the powerful off-​gassing of our new Tempur-​Pedic mattress. This was giving me respiratory distress, and in the third trimester of pregnancy I didn’t want to wait the weeks the smell would take to dissipate (after a full week of airing out the room with a fan, the smell was still strong).
Tim is simply a good guy who knows how to take care of people. He took his time with us during the sales process, met us on the weekend, gave us plenty of time to try the mattress, and worked with us after the sale to tweak the softness of the mattress — selling latex toppers at no profit so we could adjust the feel. Unfortunately for us, we couldn’t make the latex work to our comfort. Our sense is that firm mattress lovers will do best with latex.
We sincerely wanted to make this situation work, and felt that Tim would have continued partnering with us until we found a good solution. Since I’m now eight months pregnant, we found it was a bigger priority to get the mattress situation taken care of before the baby comes. But please, particularly if you like a medium firm or firm mattress, give Tim Ley and Seattle Natural Mattress a look.
