So, I was super excited that Seoul Kitchen was going to be near my office today. I was really looking forward to the Tofu Bibimbap Bowl. Unfortunately, they were out of tofu as well as many of their other proteins. This was frustrating since they had only been open about an hour and were scheduled to be on site for another two hours. That said I got my bowl with the Korean Chili sauce and a fried egg. It was definitely tasty. I was also able to get the last order of Mochi Beignets. I was excited to try these as many reviews raved about them, but, for me, they were way too sweet. The texture was also off, the outside was crisp, but the inside was like eating raw dough, it wasn’t a firmer mochi texture. I am not sure I would seek this truck out again, but if I happen across it again, and there is no line, and they have tofu, I’ll stop by for a bowl.

$ 4 for some Kimchi Fries? Uh, yeah, take my money, NOW. I’m not a huge fan of kimchi. I can eat it, but it’s not something I’m gonna be chasing to get. I was hungry and looking for some cheap food, so I walked by where all the food trucks were across the street from West Lake Center, and saw the sign for«$ 4 Kimchi Fries!» $ 4? That’s a steal for me. I got the fries, and wow did it look absolutely delicious. The kimchi didn’t taste like normal kimchi, and I really really really liked that! I was surprised by how well it tasted with the fries! It’s definitely worth your time and money. I can’t wait to get some when I’m in downtown again!(which is at least 4 times a week)

Had the steak bibimbap with an egg on top. Super delicious!!! The steak was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The entire bowl was a bouquet of numerous delicious flavors. Additionally I had a side of kimchi fries. I am very impressed that they are able to meet such a high demand and not sacrifice on the quality of the kimchi fries. Now we move on to desert. The mochi beignets are a MUSTBUY. They’re reasonably priced and very large! The staff was ultra friendly and I will definitely be back.

Tried their chicken with korean chili bibimbap and kimchi fries. The bibimbap was good and the chicken were good hearty pieces of nicely cooked chicken with a little bit of char(the best part of the dish). I give it 3 stars because the korean chili sauce was too sweet and lacked spice. I was expecting the gochujang, but I’m guessing they make their own sauce or doctor it up making it too sweet for my taste. The kimchi fries were also disappointing, it lacked kimchi flavor. There was definitely kimchi, but it wasn’t spicy at all and tossed with some other sauce that was too sweet. I really wanted to try the mochi beignets(never seen it anywhere else), but they didn’t have any. More disappointment, maybe I’ll try again(not so likely though).

Didn’t bring lunch to work, so walked around trying to figure out what restaurant or food truck to try out. I don’t care much for Korean food, but I saw kimchi fries on the menu, and just had to try them. I then decided to order the bibimbap bowl also since it was only $ 6. The wait for the food was very very long, about 20 minutes. But the food was good, very flavorful. I ordered the bowl with chicken and the Korean chili sauce. I didn’t even need to put any sauce, the chicken had so much flavor. And the fries were interestingly delicious.

Pretty solid food truck lunch option, the few times I’ve been back they have been pretty consistent and no issues with the price, portion and overall quality. Out of all the sauces to choose from, I like the Ginger Soy the best, then Korean Chili, then Basil Curry. Be sure to always add a fried egg on top, so much better!!!

I haven’t tried any of the bimbimbap bowls because I’m Korean and I know what they taste like. Nothing special, prob will try one day. but you HAVE to get the MOCHIBEIGNETS. Sooooooo good. Probably not very healthy because it’s deep fried and covered in powered sugar but it is worth every bite. You get 6 mochi beignets for $ 4 and they are pretty big. I thought it would be small but you get your moneys worth. I also tried the kimchi fries and the hibiscus lychee iced tea. I would skip on the tea. It was too sweet for me and I realized I don’t really like the taste of hibiscus. I would def recommend the kimchi fries as well. The fries by it self is good and the kimchi on top is sweet and garlicy. Not sour at all which I thought it would be since kimchi is usually sour. I would def come back here for lunch!

Decided to give Seoul Kitchen a try for lunch. My wife ordered the bibimbap with chicken and korean chili sauce. I went with the(special) kimchi fried frice. I was able to add spicy pork at ½ price and also added a fried egg. Our food was ready after about 10 minutes and served in neat little rice bowls. The kimchi fried rice was quite tasty and had a rich savory flavor to it. There wasn’t too much of the fermented/sour flavor you’d expect from kimchi, which I wouldn’t have minded. The pork had decent flavor but wasn’t as spicy as I’d hoped. The egg was nicely fried. I only had a small bite of my wife’s bibimbap but from what I tasted, it was well made too. I especially enjoyed the pickled daikon which wer bright refreshing. The portion sizes are on the smaller side but I still walked out full and satfisfied. From what I gather, this is a relatively newer truck to the scene, which was evident by some noticeable confusion from the window person. There were times he appeared aimless and unsure which food went with which ticket. Nevertheless, those kinks are easily ironed out and the bottom line is that their food is solid.

My girlfriend and I wanted to try something new in downtown Seattle. There was a long line in front of Seoul Kitchen but food came out quickly. You placed an order: pick your poultry, sauce, rice and add on. They sell cans of sodas and bottle waters. My girlfriend got spicy pork with ginger soy sauce and Hibiscus Lychee Iced tea and I ordered chicken with ginger soy sauce and an fried egg. We were the last three customers and they told me that it would take some time to cook my chicken. Luckily, it wasn’t too long! I liked the presentation of my bowl and the delicious sides, spinach, sprouts and the fried egg. Unfortunately, my chicken was over seasoned so it made me dehydrated. Same as my girlfriend’s spicy pork. Not sure if we got the last batch of meat or bad luck so the meals didn’t meet our expectation today. The place seems popular so I will give them another shot next time.

I’ll preface this by saying I typically don’t like spending money for lunch. I usually bring leftovers or make a sandwich at the office and call it good. But Seoul Kitchen, take my money. I don’t know how you prepare your steak so that it’s as tender as it is(though I suspect you massage baby calves from infancy and feed them only the finest grass until they’re ready to be «served»), but I’m blown away at how it just melts in your mouth. Your spicy pork is equally as tender, and paired with the korean chili sauce, veggies, and an egg, it’s lunchtime culinary perfection. With most food trucks, it’s a toss up for me: I’m usually impressed with the quality but underwhelmed by the quantity… or impressed with the quantity but underwhelmed by the quality. Seoul Kitchen has the perfect balance of quality and quantity, and at a very reasonable price for how much delicious food you get! I brought mochi beignets back to the office for people to try and the first person who had one said, «d@%$n, that’s good…» However you guys are making this stuff, you’re doing it right!!! Now pardon me as I shove this final delicious mochi beignet into my face…

Sometimes, you look at the leftovers you brought for lunch and go, «Ugh.» That’s when it’s time to toss ‘em in the compost bin and head to the Seoul Kitchen food truck at Westlake Park. I’ll be the first to admit I did not get a balanced lunch. Here’s why: I’ve had bibimbap before, but not kimchi fries or mochi beignets, and everyone seems to agree those are the standout items. So let’s not even pretend I got a nutritionally complete meal. I went on a Friday at around 12:15(they’re at Westlake on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays). The line was only a few people long — there were more people waiting for their food to be cooked than waiting to order. They do take credit cards. When I got my number, they were about 10 orders behind, but quickly started catching up, as most people seem to just order one rice bowl. Soon it was my turn… and then they called the number AFTER me… and then the next and the next. Four orders later, they called my number, but only to add, «…we’re waiting on your mochi beignets.» It would have been nice if they had told me when I ordered that it would take a few extra minutes, so I wouldn’t have been annoyed watching person after person who ordered after me get their food before me. However, all was forgiven when I actually got my food. The kimchi fries($ 4) are a generous, heavy portion of fries topped with kimchi, sauce, nori flakes, and green onion, and more than enough for two to share(I couldn’t finish mine). It’s not terribly spicy, and the sauce is more sweet than hot. The mochi beignets($ 4) are six pieces of piping-hot deep-fried mochi smothered in powdered sugar. They have a soft, chewy texture and crispy coating, and it works surprisingly well! But don’t wait to eat these — like regular beignets, they’re best when hot and fresh. I’ll definitely be back for a more normal lunch that doesn’t just consist of sweets and sides!

For me, nothing turns a day around like sunshine and Korean food. Caught lunch with a coworker at Occidental Park today and, while only temporarily, this made all the stress at work disappear. It was about 12:15 by the time we got there and the line seemed like it would take forever, but surprisingly went pretty quickly. I ordered a brown rice Spicy Pork bowl with Korean Chili sauce and a fried egg. Eggs make rice exponentially better. My coworker got the chicken with ginger sauce and fried egg as well as the kimchi fries. Everything was hot, tasty and filled my belly. Coworker said while the sauce was different, it was still very good. The highlight of the meal was certainly the kimchi fries. The fries were topped with a non-spicy kimchi that was actually pretty sweet. At first I couldn’t decide if I liked it or not but after a few bites the apprehension melts away. They are good. The fries themselves were cooked really well, all crispy and fluffy and delicious. it’s like a Koreanized poutine. It is on the pricier side, kimchi fries are $ 4, my meal cost $ 11 and my coworkers was $ 9 but it’s worth it to treat yourself on occasion.

Spicy pork + Korean chili sauce + fried egg = my new favorite lunch. Now that I’ve discovered Seoul Kitchen at Westlake Park, my bibimbap cravings have been satiated. Service is friendly and quick, and the portion sizes are generous.

Eat some Korean food, it’s good for the seoul. ;) Seoul Kitchen is a relatively new addition to Seattle’s ever-growing food truck scene. We caught the truck hanging out in Westlake Park on Thursday around 11:30AM. Featuring Korean fusion dishes like kimchee fries, Seoul Kitchen’s main menu item is customizable bibimbap. For those that aren’t as familiar with Korean cuisine, bibimbap features rice topped with a variety of ingredients, such as cucumber, daikon, mushroom, soybean sprouts, meat and so on, mixed together with gochujang(chili pepper paste). I like how the protein ingredients are optional. That way, if I’m looking for just a quick, light meal, I can just get the basic bibimbap bowl of rice and veggies. They even have tofu as a vegetarian option. To top it off, Seoul Kitchen also has two additional mixing sauces other than the traditional chili paste. I decided to go the spicy route and went for the spicy pork and Korean chili sauce — I actually think next time around, I would ask for extra chili sauce because it was more sweet than spicy. It ended up being a pretty filling meal for about $ 9, which I feel is a reasonable lunch price in the downtown Seattle area. I’ll have to keep this truck on my radar and try its kimchee fries next time!

I gobbled up my bibimbap so quickly that I forgot to take a picture of it! Recently moved back to Seattle from Washington DC and was a big fan of the Korean food I could find in DC. Hadn’t tried much near downtown Seattle yet, so when I saw the food truck out the window I was totally in. Got the spicy pork plus chili sauce plus egg. A classic combination. It was extremely tasty and also the right size for me, I’m full and yet not sprawled out on the floor having a nap. Only thing I can think of that might make it better would be to add kimchi to the toppings. Everything is better with kimchi! But I do still have a really nice spice going on… reminding me of the deliciousness I just ate. Recommended!

I have eaten at a lot of places while working in Pioneer Square, and I must say that Seoul Kitchen’s bibimbap is one of the best bibimbaps I’ve had in the area. I usually get their bibimbap with spicy pork and egg and it’s so good. I definitely look forward to eating here every week.

In the last week, I’ve been to Seoul Kitchen twice — once at 2nd& Pike and once at Occidental Park. On the first day, I tried the kimchi fries, mochi beignets, and hibiscus lychee tea. The kimchi fries were made with shoestring potatoes(which I love), a sweetened gochujang aioli and topped with spicy pork. The sweet and savory pair well. However, I think the aioli is a bit too sweet and the fries could use a bit of salt. The mochi beignets are fantastic! That being said, I’m not sure that’s an appropriate name for them. They’re fried up on the truck and dipped in powdered sugar. They don’t remind me of a beignet. Crisp on the outside, chewy and comforting in the middle. I’m pretty sure I could eat about a dozen! I’m often disappointed by signature drinks at food trucks. Not the case here. The hibiscus lychee tea was perfect for a spring day! Refreshing, not too tart, not too sweet, just right. I stopped by the truck again today since it was in my hood. I had another order of mochi beignets(of course) and a tofu bibimap bowl with basil curry sauce. The standard bowl is $ 6 + tofu for $ 2 + fried egg for $ 1. At the price point of $ 9, it seems a bit high for the portion. The ingredients(rice, spinach, carrots, daikon, and sprouts) seemed fresh. The carrots were sauteed a bit too much and didn’t go well with the dish. The tofu was perfect! The texture was firm, the size appropriate, and the flavor right on point. I appreciated the recommendation for the basil curry sauce since that would have been my last choice. It was the perfect sauce for the dish! Overall, a nice addition to the Seattle food truck scene.

I tried Seoul Kitchen for the first time on 2nd and Pike. Service was fast and pleasant. My lunch was fantastic and I can’t stop thinking about it: bimibap bowl with chicken and Korean chili, topped with a fried egg. We also tried the kimchi fries and, of course, the mochi beignets! You have to try both of these; they are unique and extremely tasty. I highly recommend Seoul Kitchen, and will be back for more!

Took a walk over to Occidental Park today at lunch and there they were. Had a good line, but it moved fast. I ordered the bibimbap bowl with chicken, ginger soy, and a fried egg. I’ll admit, this is my very first time trying Korean food, so I have nothing with which to compare. But as far as I’m concerned — De-li-cious! The people were very friendly, helping customers decide what they wanted to try, and you didn’t have to wait very long to get your food. Will definitely be going back!
