Very friendly and peaceful servers. Love the food and ambiance of this place and have never been disappointed in the food. The veggie eggs Benedict is the best!

Good food, great atmosphere! Standard breakfast things, with the exception of being a meatless menu. I had two eggs, toast, fruit and an avocado and I felt great afterwards. If I feel healthy after a meal that’s the mark of good food.

Wow. This breakfast was totally amazing. We were a little unsure at first – the signs and interior seemed a little old-school. But the omelets and accompanying dollar size pancakes were incredibly fluffy and out of this world. And you can replace the potatoes with greens, which come with an amazing savory drizzle that isn’t quite dressing and matches up lusciously with breakfast. We were over the moon and felt like we’d stumbled on an incredible Fremont gem. Now if only we could remember the crazy name.

They did not refill my coffee. A good diner should never let a coffee cup go empty. And I’m not even a fast sipper.

I’ve been going here for a few years now and it is hands-down my favorite brunch place in Seattle. Everything is vegetarian and they have vegan and gluten free options. I particularly love the buttermilk pancakes :) Go eat here!

Sesame waffle was a bit dry. Has lots of good options for vegans and vegetarians though, which is a plus. I thought all these Unilocalers were exaggerating about this being run by a cult, but I was wrong. There is definitely an unsettling culty vibe from this place. I wouldn’t go as far as to say the servers were nice? But definitely civil and socially passable. Would I come back? Probably not? But I know it’s hard to find vegan food while traveling sometimes and they have a good sized menu with lots of options.

The place and concept and intension I would give 5 stars! But the dish I ordered was lacking a bit — I will be back to try other dishes that might be better. Atmos: Casual, family friendly, colorful, clean, peaceful music. Center of the Universe Scramble: Meh. From the newspaper clippings around, this appears to be their signature dish(or at least a popular one). I think the best way to explain it at a high level is that I believe they must have pre-made a large batch and then heated my meal in the microwave. It didn’t taste fresh and the flavor was a little lacking. The toast is generic loaf orowheat type bread but that’s ok since this is an inexpensive breakfast for Seattle. The potatoes were flavored well but mushy and again, clearly reheated and not freshly grilled. I was expecting the food to be a little fresher. My partner ordered the Mediterranean omelet and that did seem to be a bit fresher(perhaps because they don’t have that type prepped in advance?). So I will come back to try other items that will hopefully be better.

Silence heart nest… My heart is anything but still here. It’s usually jumping for joy when it tastes the organic fair trade coffee. AHHH! The avocado Migas are great! I’m in no way a vegetarian, but I’d have to say that this place definitely makes me think about it.

BESTFOODEVER in a very diner-like, no-frills environment with uneven and not professional service. You seriously can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, and it all feels like it’s made with love. The unique stand-out that won’t be repeated at other veg/vegan places is the neatloaf. SOGOOD. Crave worthy. The neatloaf itself is amazing, but it comes with the old standby comfort food, mashed potatoes, with a generous slathering of mushroom gravy.

Food, very good. Atmosphere, relaxed. Staff, friendly. Other reviewers give needed details. I’m writing to say that, although it’s in Fremont(know as free spirited), and although we’re living in the 2010’s(the age of acceptance), and although it may not be a big deal to some, I think there ARE those out there who would want to know that this restaurant is run by a religious group(some might call it a cult?). TV is running a looping video of the guru doing random things. Pictures up on wall of guru with various famous people. Info about group on each table. No staff said anything to us about it. Again, this may not bother many or most, but I would have liked to know before I went to have brunch.

First time visiting Seattle and this is the breakfast/brunch place we are taken to?!? Best decision ever! Everything was great! We had a large party, were seated right away and tended to immediately. Our server seemed a bit overwhelmed at first, but he handled it very nicely and very patiently(as we had a few kids with us). Trying to cater to all OUR needs and take care of other customers at the same time, couldn’t have been easy. I ordered the Quinoa Salad, but when everyone else got their food, I had to try theirs first! The pancakes were awesome! I don’t like those regular fluffy pancakes and I’ve tried making gluten free at home, but failed. These were off the hook! As well as the waffles! My vegetarian sister ordered«sausage and bacon», she loved all of it! So the food was great. The atmosphere, was nice as well. I don’t really care what the people, waiters, waitresses, owners, etc… are wearing(as long as you’re not all grubby trying to serve people food! Which was not the case here!) If it’s a uniform, who cares if it’s a sari, a kimono, or ninja outfit?!? How would that affect your appetite? It shouldn’t. Especially in this area, Fremont«the center of the universe». This place, the people were very welcoming and very nice. We would definitely return and highly recommend it.

Perfect little haven to start your day off right! I love the light friendly atmosphere of this little place in Fremont. They have great menu options and everything we tried was delicious. Beautiful kind waiting staff. Inspirational quotes on the table. The«neat» loaf with mushroom gravy sauce is vegetarian and delicious. For the record, I am not a vegetarian. The basil pesto bread was yummy side. This is me pancakes had a subtle flavor and felt good to the soul. The galic omelette was perfection: sun-dried tomatoes, go cheese, and garlic clothes baked inside this omelette with a little hollandaise sauce to top it off. Just a beautiful little slice of heaven. Definitely makes you feel like Fremont is a place you should move to, because the people are sweet and kind and the food is delicious.

The food is really awesome. The service… not so much. The greek omelet is fantastic. It comes with pesto on it that really kicks it up a couple notches of delicious. The roasted potatoes are some of the best(spiced really well) I’ve had with a breakfast dish. The service was pretty rough. If we didn’t ask for menus eventually, we would never have gotten any. The food was dropped off(with some attitude), drinks never refilled, and no one ever came back. When we managed to flag someone down, water was spilt all over my finances meal, and laughed off. I mean, really?!? It took another long while to flag someone down(captain attitude) to get our check, which was dropped off as though we were inconveniencing them. I really wanted to rate this higher, but it left a funky taste in our mouth, no pun intended. I’m willing to try again, at least for the delicious food. We’ll see.

The food was alright at best. I think I only like it because it’s just so… Fremont. It’s so quirky! And it’s all vegetarian/vegan! And there’s little cards with inspirational messages on the table! I’ve been here(mostly dragged here) several times over the years. Even though I’m a carnivorous person, I usually quite love vegetarian fare but this is just alright. I do appreciate their homemade ketchup, freaking good potatoes and their good drip coffee but I’ve had better vegetarian food elsewhere. It’s worth checking out though if only for the experience of having an eerily peaceful(in an endearing way) waitress with a constant half smile on her face dressed in a sari serve you. The TV shows their guru lifting planes(?) That was interesting too.

Those of you that know me know that I’m as carnivorous as they come. If we weren’t supposed to eat animals, they wouldn’t be so damned delicious! I also generally eschew anything that smacks of contrived hippy-dippy more-wholesome-than-thou new age bunk. All that said, you have got to wonder what I’m doing in a vegetarian restaurant called«Silence-Heart-Nest». Having one of the better breakfasts I’ve had in some time, that’s what! Eggs Florentine, done perfectly, with a fresh, soft English muffin, sautéed spinach, poached eggs, and a remarkable herbed sauce, light but buttery, almost frothy. Served with country-style potatoes, seasoned as they should be. It’s just plain good! Really, really good. Relaxing casual atmosphere, clean, well-organized store, with the delicious, toothsome smells of herbs, bread, coffee, citrus and vinegar welcoming you as you walk in the door. I was greeted by polite, smiling employees, which surprised me a little bit, until I realized that I have been dining in the U-district a lot lately, and had come to expect the typical«U-tude»: surly indifference. Not here. I have to say– I really don’t get the«silence» part of the name; between the busy kitchen and the busy street outside, it’s a cacophony of activity. But the«Heart-Nest» bit, I totally get. Come here and eat! Even without the meat, this place tics every box on my list. A rare 5-star from me!

Summary: Vegetarian/vegan brunch place that serves a ton of classic and not-so-classic breakfast dishes Ambience/Service: All the staff are wearing Indian sari’s and the ambience is quite zen. Both bar seating but mostly traditional tables here. Very peaceful atmosphere. Food: The great thing about this place is that they have all the traditional dishes but with vegan/vegetarian takes. I’ve always wanted to have a «real» eggs benedict and they had it with soy bacon, which I’ve never cooked right on my own. The dish was perfect, with a well-made hollandaise and the soy bacon had a great texture — not too dry. The egg was perfectly runny. I also had an order of their waffles, which the people at the table over were raving about. It was probably the best dish — light, crunchy on the outside and a perfect sweetness. Overall: Great vegetarian place with a ton of options. I’d come here again for sure.

I got some potatoes and the fruit salad from the fall menu. I saw salads online but the menu in the restaurant didn’t have those as an option. The fruit salad was apple, banana, grapes, and orange slices. It’s a small serving, maybe about half of each fruit and about five grapes but it’s a side salad so that makes sense. I’m a fruit head so I should have ordered a few. I didn’t care for the potato seasoning and they were soft as opposed to crispy. All being said I like having options at restaurants that are vegan and grain free, so I can go out with friends that don’t eat the same way. Our waiter was kid friendly he spoke to my daughter while we waited for my friend and he gave her toys.

They happily split our check and accepted FIVE credit cards. I won’t make a habit of doing this to them, but I really appreciate that they were able to make it work. We were a group of two gluten free folks, a vegan, and two more who were just hungry, and everyone was very happy. The table was covered with eggs and pancakes and waffles and vegan meat and many bottomless coffees. The service is always great here and the food as well. I will definitely continue to visit every time I’m in Seattle.
