We would have loved it if the girl working there could have stopped looking online for weddings dresses for 5 minutes and helped us. We might have even bought something.

I finally went in recently after passing by for years. I’m so glad I did. The clothing items are artistically made and mid range priced. I’ll pay a bit more for quality and timeless style. I don’t like to be bothered too much when I shop so I feel that the attention I got was just right. Friendly but not hovering. I’ll be back over and over and know that the clothes I buy from here are actually things I won’t easily be donating to charity shops after wearing the item once or twice. The jewelry and other accessories are amazing too!

Love Flax and Chalet but like another review, we were not greeted or acknowledged. Granted, they were late in opening the store and went about setting up but afterwards, a «hello, how are you doing?» would have been nice.

What attracted me was the $ 20 clear bubble umbrellas on display. $ 20 is actually very reasonable for a bubble umbrella. I’ve seen them more in Vancouver. Of course being Seattle it is important to have some awesome rain gear. The rest of the shop had awesome clothes, however, a little out of my fashion and price range. The lady at the counter was really nice.

i just got back from this wonderful store and wanted to review while the experience was fresh. Kemba was the sales person that helped me. She was very friendly, saying hello as soon as I walked in the door. While I was in the dressing room she brought me sizes and also came up with ideas. She wasn’t pushy at all, just very attentive. I’m sorry Tree H. had a bad experience, she probably won’t go back and that’s a shame because this is a very nice store. I loved the accessories too, so many beautiful scarves to chose from. The quality is above normal, I bought all different brands, all made in different countries. The knit hats and fingerless gloves were really nice. There is a big sale area too and a nice place to sit comfortably if you are waiting for someone to shop. While I was there several people came in, some bought and all were treated well. I really dislike the department store experience where no one cares, this store cares… and it shows. I was there for a long time and bought 8 items. You get a $ 25 credit for each $ 500 spent. They keep it in the computer and it will be available the next time you shop. I will definitely go back.

Visited store afternoon of Friday the 29th Aug. Store empty but for one customer and two sales associates. Was not greeted or interacted with in any way by the saleswomen. One very obviously followed me around as if trying to make sure I wasn’t shoplifting, finding items to fiddle with or adjust about two feet away from me in each location. Did I mention: no ‘hello’ ‘may I help you’ or anything similar. Never mind that I was dressed in the overall style of the boutique and accompanied by my child. Left a very negative impression and I will not be returning. There are plenty of options online and at other women’s clothiers around town. I generally found their collection to be bland, so not a loss.

I happened upon the Simple Life while heading to Fluevogs on the same block. I love comfortable clothing with a classic look and quality and was immediately drawn in by the window displays. URU is one of my favorite brands and they had the best selection I’ve seen yet! The great customer service won me over as well, I like to be left alone while I wander and peruse and I want full attention when I’m ready to make decisions and that’s what I got. I felt like I made a new friend with great closet full of treasures. If I lived closer I’d shop here often and am sure to make it part of my Seattle routine whenever I am in town.

The same thing happened to my company… The owner agreed to pay and never did. Shame on you Simple Life! Shame on you!

The buyer has a great eye for interesting and easy to live with textiles, the clothes are great for travel, and stuff you bought last year looks great with stuff they’re selling this year. I love shopping at this store, and I hate shopping. I have found the staff to be helpful without being intrusive, and honest(and funny) when asked for opinions.

If you like texture and floaty grown up hippie clothes, this is your spot. It’s pricey, but everything is well made. They have an email list and will send you sale notices and sometimes coupons. The staff are really knowledgeable(no, that won’t shrink is a statement you can trust) and not at all in your business unless you ask. I’m saving up for scarves and sweaters, but this is the only spot in Seattle where I’ve found pants that actually fit me, so those I get to buy(at least when there’s a sale and I drag the boy along to validate).

Stopped in because of a basket of scarves in the window. Beautiful hand-made scarves from all over the world for good prices can be found here! I found the perfect silk scarf from Thailand while my mother found a hand woven beauty from India. We will both be back! The sales-woman was also very helpful and friendly!

small boutique of artful clothing and a few accessories. i bought two natural fiber pieces that were nicely distinctive, organic. .. . a nice find. Downtown near convention center, street level. if i lived locally, this shop would be my secret.
