I just discovered this place when looking at Google Maps so thought I’d walk there from my house. Quite a nice little discovery. It is more of an outlook/overview of Lincoln Park, the neighborhood and the Sound, but it has some great views up there and nice and quite for relaxing, solitude or meditation. There are some tennis courts at the bottom of the hill which seem busy every time I drive by(knew of the tennis courts but not of the park above them). Then as a bonus, there is the Lincoln Park P’ Patch, which is like a mini botanical garden and fun to stroll through and see all the pretty flowers and yummy veggies. There is a small side lot to park near the courts off of Fauntleroy, but there is a trail that I entered from at the top off of 44th.

Although I love the tennis courts, pea patch and romantic overlooking view at the top of the hill, it does need a BETTERBATHROOM!!!

Soonafter moving to Seattle last January, I quickly found out that Seattle does not have a lot of tennis courts. I almost had a nervous breakdown. In Atlanta(where I grew up) there are tennis courts in nearly every neighborhood and even in a lot of apartment complexes. If courts are full, no worries, you can find a court within a mile or two. Thankfully I found Stolstice Park tennis courts soon after. There are 6 courts there and, though not in the best condition, they certainly beat playing indoors or paying to play on some. They are good hitting courts but not for matches. Furthermore, they have a small wall there to hit against. I did that growing up against my parents garage but had not done it in probably 12 years before moving here. You should try it– the wall gets everything back so really expect to get a little tired. If you play tennis, live in West Seattle, and want to get beat by a girl message me. We can meet at Solstice. I have never had an issue getting on a court there.
