I have been seeing the professionals at sound sleep health for a couple of years now. My husband and my young son are also treated there. All three of us have different sleep issues, some more difficult to diagnose than others. When i have needed a doctor for sleep and wake issues, they have always worked to get me care, even if it means going to a different office for a closer appointment. Waiting rooms are comfortable for people of all sizes, and the staff are always nice, even when I have to bring my kid to my own appointments. These people understood the impact sleep problems had and have on my life. They didn’t always have a quick fix, but they always worked towards a wellness goal and did so with me and not to me. I began by seeing a doctor who is no longer there. After that i saw Dr. Mazeika, and then his NP Alice Coad. Dustin works the tech side usually, although i have met other techs and they have all been wonderful. I can’t deny that there are different degrees of warmth, but that is true of all people, and there is always an excess of professionalism. They accommodated my requirements when my son had his sleep studies and always answered my concerns and made us feel welcome and comfortable. I have and will continue to recommend them as a sleep and wake disorder diagnostic and treatment practice.

I recently took my mother to see Dr. Broderick and was very pleased with our experience. Dr. Broderick was very compassionate, knowledgeable, and patient. My mother has longstanding insomnia and has tried all sorts of therapy with little benefit. Dr. Broderick thoroughly went through her past medical history and each of the medication my mom has ever taken. She then carefully explained the treatment plan and what our expectations should be for each step of the way. My mother doesn’t speak English very well but Dr. Broderick was so patient with her. Also, my mom didn’t have good insurance and Dr. Broderick was so generous with her time… she even donated a CPAP machine for my mom’s sleep apnea. We are so thankful for her! If you need a sleep specialist, you will be in good hands with Dr. Broderick. Thank you Dr. Broderick!

One star is too much for Dr. Meredith Broderick in my opinion. I have Epilepsy and Chronic Insomnia. I am also the mother of two awesome kids that I love more than anything. Dr. Broderick had zero compassion for my situation and was less than thrilled when I had to bring my children to office appointments. She is a Neurologist yet she doesn’t seem to grasp how much a seizure impacts a person’s life. I MUST sleep or I have seizures simple as that. I would never recommend her to fellow Epileptics or mothers in general. She is very sarcastic and in my opinion a waste of your time.

Thinking that I might be suffering from sleep apnea, I got a referral from my doctor and chose this nearby sleep health clinic. I’m very glad I did. First of all, one of the sweetest people you’ll meet is Michelle, the receptionist. She will learn your name and will greet you personally from the second appointment forward. The medical and technical staff really know what they’re talking about. They give you the full story about sleep apnea, how it’s a horrible thing to live with, what causes it, and the myriad of possible treatments. The sleep study rooms are hotel quality. EXCELLENT beds, and I am a very picky sleeper. Bring your own pillow if desired. While the study itself isn’t the easiest of things to get through(what with 5 pounds of wires coming off your body) the staff are very kind and helpful. Ended up that my AHI index was 37(meaning, my airway was obstructed on average 37 times an hour during sleep.) I met with Dr Broderick and the tech set me up with a loaner CPAP machine. I showed fantastic positive results, in a few weeks my AHI index was down to under 5, and I’ve seen it under 4 recently. I’ve even heard of some clinics that force lights out at 10 and prohibit you from reading or anything. Not here — bring a book or mp3 player, relax. Terrific staff and environment = high recommendation! They even provide some snacks for your overnight sleep study.

The worst thing in the world is to try to sleep and not to. ~F. Scott Fitzgerald For a long time I have been having trouble getting a good night sleep. Tossing and turning all night long, waking up in the middle of the night and not getting back to sleep. Even worse, my snoring was keeping wife awake. I frequently had headaches from not getting enough sleep and it was impacting my performance at work. I finally realized that I needed to do something and went to see Dr. Gandis Mazeika at Sound Sleep. We talked a bit, then he did a brief exam. A few nights later I came back to the office to do a sleep study in which I was tethered to a bed with all sorts of monitors tracking all brain activity, breathing and such. What he found out was that I had very severe sleep apnea and that I was not getting enough sleep to actually ever get rested. I am now using a CPAP machine that is resolving the issues associated with the apnea. I feel great, waking up in the morning when the alarm is going off the first time. I have more energy and seem to be thinking clearer. If you are not sleeping, I would give these guys a call. They also have a clinic on the Eastside in Juanita area.
