OK so the reviews on this place are a few years old, but when I went to square room I was wondering if I was in the right spot. This is a place where you can buy hipster art. It is not a «home décor» store as implied by other reviewers(though maybe in 2009 it was), it’s just art that will appeal to a select crowd of people… many of whom are on Unilocal… you, with your plastic rimmed glasses and baby sporting an ironic mohawk – Get on in here!

For $ 15 I picked up a Goorin Brothers hat that’s makes me look like a hipster Elmer Fudd. Gotta love a sale at the Square Room!

Utterly charming, though the dead things can creep me out.

Square Room is pretty much a museum where you’re able to buy what’s on display. Awesome, right? It’s very easy to get lost in here with all the fantastic pieces of purchasable works of art. From jewelry to framed pieces, it’s the perfect place to pick up a very special something that won’t be found elsewhere. From the very cool(candles and toys) to the very bizarre(taxidermy), you’re sure to find things in here that you won’t find anywhere else… and that’s a good thing. It gives me a reason to return over and over again.

This is the store to go to when you are in need of inspiration. Whenever I can’t think of what to get someone for a gift, I just need to walk in and I will walk with something. This is a small little store but packed with so many unique things you don’t feel like you are looking at the same things over and over like you do at other local shops. They have great jewelry, art, hats and the very collectible and addictive cement baby heads.

this place reminded me of the stores in hip areas of sf and in LA. kind of like Giant Robot because they sell these little japanese figures. they are these different boxes and you don’t know which one you will get so you buy one because it’s a surprise. it’s the new adult toy and can be addicting once you get into because you want to collect them all. those were the affordable things that i looked at. but the place has a lot of cool art, accessories, and jewelry. a great place to browse or buy a gift. i’ll be back to buy a birthday card. once seeing handmade cards by artists i can’t go back to hallmark. and the woman who worked there was awesome!

An incredible male hat collection of hipster hats. Cool little toys. Interesting art pieces. Jewelry. Candles. Miscellaneous fun things. Great place to go buy a gift for that person you know who has everything. Guaranteed that you can find something in this store that is covet-worthy and unique. The owners are really sweet guys, too, so say hi! Also check out their sister store, Foxmaid.

My partner cant stop raving about the over priced but decent art there. I must say the layout of the space is very well done. The music which I must say have paid $ 24 for is great. We usually go there in the fall for hats and trinkets for friends. The staff is always lovely which is another reason why we frequent the location.

I went in here for the first time last night, and fell in love. Sigh. I want everything! I especially loved the abundance of Roost products in the shop, which are neat, practical, and affordable. They support local artists and jewelers by featuring them in the store which is super awesome. The girl at the counter was very friendly and talkative; overall it’s a very inviting space. Now, if I could just convince my bank account that I really DO need those Roost owl candles…

This place is amazing. I stopped by last month looking for a snail. Yes a snail — and you know what? They had one! A brushed metal snail. Square Room has just the thing you are looking for and the coolest stuff you didn’t realize you needed.

A décor junky’s wet dream. This place manages the impossible — mid to high end design/art AND zero attitude. Everytime I go, I feel as if I’ve walked right inside the pages of some college biology book: shell tea lights, coral in all sizes, anatomical metal sculpture… And they offer beautiful items for every price range. Seriously, these people have taste and smarts. This is where I go for affordable one-of-a– kind«Where did you get that?» wedding, shower and anniversary gifts. It’s the kind of place you take your New York friend to in order to prove that Seattle can hold it’s own in the retail art realm…

Love this store. They’ve got a great selection of items. It’s a great place to go when I want to treat myself or I want to buy something for a friend. There is always something interesting in the store. Brian and Leif are great people and it’s always fun to shop there.

I need to figure out a couple of things before I can return to the Square Room. First, I need to find a financial adviser so he can tell me if it’ll be cheaper to a) take out a loan and buy the Square Room or b) to buy everything they sell there. Second thing I need to do is find a breathing coach so he can remind me to breathe. Everything is so shockingly beautiful that I don’t think I breathed for a good 10 minutes. So if you know someone who meets one or both of the qualifications I have specified above, please let me know. The sooner I can get those positions filled, the sooner I can return to the Square Room.

Think of your favorite delicious baked good. Now think of 12 of them. Yahoo!!! Right??? That’s how this new Square Room is — it’s like one awesome thing multiplied by like 12 or maybe even to the power of 12… or maybe I should go back to the baked good analogy and make a witty comment about Pi and then mix the math/baked good analogy. Sorry I’m a little loopy but that is the power of Square Room. So many beautiful things, such an amazing atmosphere, so much talent in one square room it’s unreal! Kind of makes your head spin. Go in, buy a candle, maybe some art, you might even get to say hi to the little dog!

Dreamy. Seashells, branches, crows sculpted from steel, tree trunk furniture, silverwork, paintings, and other wonderments. Perfect for non-run-of-the-mill gift-giving or just treating yourself to something delightful.(I certainly didn’t have«nautilus shopping» on my to-do list…)
