The Green Mermaid appears to follow me wherever I go. Or more like, on account of my love of caffeine I follow the Green Mermaid wherever I go. Anyways, I met up with the Green Mermaid when I was walking on Alaskan Way alongside the Seattle Waterfront. This is a Starbucks along the Waterfront featuring a large footprint in the World Trade Center just across the street from the Marriott. It is relatively close to the cruise ship terminals. Disparite from the majority of the city(and almost every city I’ve been to) this is an area where Starbucks is not on every corner. It takes walking effort to reach this location. Just like the majority of Starbucks that I have been to, the seating is comfortable, the baristas are friendly, and the coffee keeps me awake. The one strange thing about this Starbucks is that to use the rest room, the barista presents you with a code to access it. Then you have to leave Starbucks and walk into a World Trade Center hallway past offices to reach it. And just like the majority of Starbucks my major complaint is their relatively poor selection of flavored syrups. If you are in the vicinity of the Seattle Waterfront and need a caffeinated beverage or just want to relax, I recommend this Starbuck’s. Just look for the Marriott and you will see it in front of the next building to the north, which is the World Trade Center.

Small but nice location with a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. It is a Starbucks so you know what to expect.

Uhm, hate to break it to you Unilocal Quick Tippers, but this isn’t the first ever Starbucks location. It’s just another Starbucks on another corner in Seattle. The first-ever one is in Pike Place Market, not next to the Marriott Hotel. Anyway, I’m not a coffee drinker but my husband is and here they’re wonderful baristas. My husband messed up his drink himself by mistaking fat-free milk for half-and-half. Dork. The barista kindly offered a brand new drink(and the real half-and-half container) without attitude or a charge. I like places like that.

It’s starbucks. I come here for their Frappuccino @ happy hour. Service really depends, sometimes can be really friendly, other times not.

This Starbucks location tends to be my mid-day coffee break spot when I am at work. So, I hit this location 4 – 6 times per week depending on my work schedule. Every time I stop in here the wait times are low despite there being pretty consistent traffic flow. Also, the baristas don’t let me wait too long without getting my order going. A pretty dependable coffee refuleing spot for anyone working or playing near the waterfront. There are plenty of tables and chairs at this spot including an outdoor seating area. However, I tend to prefer the locations with large counches and confy areas to chill and work on my laptop.
