I come here frequently as the Horton building is just across the street. I needed change for a dollar to take the bus I asked for the change. No the barista said only if you buy something. I come in here all the time even earlier today. No you have to buy something. O K I said what’s the cheapest thing I the store. Oh she said a banana for $ 1.10. That much for a banana the size of my pinky? I guess you don’t want me ever coming in here again? That’s our corporate policy. I left knowing that this must happen a thousand times a day with a Star Bucks littering every corner. Went down the block to ⁷⁄₁₁ they gave change with out requiring a purchase. Bananas were 50 cents. So much for Starbucks where yuppies like me get ripped off every day

This Starbucks is close and convenient for those working or living in Pioneer Square. Came into this Starbucks for a cup of tea and WIFI. I sat by the window to watch the people walk by. When I came in, it was empty but it filled up fast. The barista and I had a great conversation about tea and she offered me a sample of the holiday blend, which was delicious.
I just wanted to give a big shout out to the whole staff who works here. They are super friendly and always willing to help. Not only do they have to be extra-attentive and open the restroom door for each guest, I witnessed the barista make a coffee extra special for a gentleman who had very particular needs. The patience was refreshing to see & truly made my day. I could tell the man was very happy to have his coffee just the way he liked it.
⁴⁄₅ stars because it did get a bit loud & there are people coming up and down a stair case inside.

Why this location would have any less than 5 stars shocks me. As an actual regular, not just on Unilocal,their team is cheerful, friendly, fast and accurate. They make every morning and afternoon that I visit better.

I also like to morning crew during the weekdays. It’s a nice atmosphere. On the many occasions that I have been here, there are usual members of the homeless community either stealing newspapers, asking for water, or asking to use the bathroom. Overall, a nice Starbucks. If it weren’t for the limited hours, I’d probably be more apt to frequent the Starbucks a few blocks away at 2^nd and Cherry. Also, this location REALLY NEEDS TO PUT A PUSH AND PULL SIGN ON THEIR ENTRANCE DOOR!!! There are pull handles on both sides… the only problem is that you can’t pull from both sides…
