To the person who rated this management prior to me, I lived here for 4 years to finish off my Ph. D and the apt I resided in was in poor shape. First off, rent had to be mailed in and they consistently lost my check every other month. Makes me wonder if the check was stolen to begin with or their secretary ran off with them. Secondly, there’s uncontrolled rent in Seattle and so they increased rent by 20−30% every year which makes it ridiculous to live in for a 300 sq ft apt. I started out paying 725/month and then somehow ended up paying $ 900.00-$ 950.00 by my fourth year. Thankfully I moved out and did not recommend anyone to the Starlighter apts. Also, be careful and ask what they will use your $ 600.00 deposit on. They deducted more than 75% of my check for items I did not agree on. Carpet wasn’t even cleaned when I first moved in yet they overcharged for carpet cleaning. The same with blinds, if you’re going to charge for blind cleaning, at least provide blinds that actually work in the first place. They also charged for service for the mold that I had when I first moved in already as well. Third, the Apt has two units burn down in 1993 and there’s a strange odor in all the apts, since most my clothing had the smell even as I relocated back home. I understand the building was built in 1960s but ya’ll are making so much anyways every year so why can’t you fix up the place a little bit? There’s mold on every single window if you live on the outer side of the building and the plumbing system is terrible. Also, it’s an apt, so why can’t you actually fix the divider for the studio and add in cabinets? This place fails a lot of the inspections Seattle landlords must abide by. Last of all, every time I call in, I get sent to voicemail and my call is never returned. Makes me question if there is even management in your name afterall(APM, INC). Also they change manager quite often and she/he is never around and doesn’t do anything wihle residing on stipend. I lived here for four years, they changed manager three times.
