While visiting Pike Place Market, I eyed some really attractive hats and scarves at Ms. Spearman’s table. She was on a quick break so I made a point of circling back to her stand so I could be sure to get my hands on one of her incredible hand knitted hats. I ultimately choose a gray one, but she had a variety of beautiful colors like plum purple, oatmeal, black, chocolate brown and more. What impressed me is how sturdy and well made my little hat is. I’ve even thrown it in the washer and it has held it’s shape and not shrunken despite being made out of high quality wool yarn. I paid $ 35.00 for it and it was my favorite purchase of the entire trip. I was actually surprised that she didn’t charge more because you can see that she puts in hours of work for each well crafted handmade hat. I have no idea when I’ll be back in Seattle but if she’s still there I will be visiting her for sure and snapping up one of every color she makes.
