This place is awesome. I saw it in a documentary film called «Lost Years» that premiered at SIFF a year ago. The proprietor Donnie is even featured and so I had to go see the stuff inside. It’s so unique you have to go see it in person. Fabulous collectibles and antiques you can’t find anywhere. I even got to say hi to Donnie, he’s not a professional actor actually, just the real McCoy.

Sun May is an asian variety store frozen in time. From it’s simple, red façade to the numerous nic nacs, antiques and the slightly mysterious counter person sitting behind the dark counter. Everytime I go in, I feel like I’ve walked back into a store stuck in the 50’s or 60’s.
This place is just plain cool. It’s packed full of stuff for such a small place. Their nic nac’s consists of antique coke and pop bottles, old postcards, ceramics, jewlery, and toys. They have a collection of replica wind up robots.
Sun May reminds me of a museum but you can buy everything you see. It’s like a mini ebay. Best of all, it’s makes you feel like you are walking into a piece of CID history.
