I know this place has been closed for a while but I would just like to point out that when myself and my friends(Quinn I.) went to this place, there was a legit Dgiorno pizza just chilling out with the rest of the food… no wonder this place closed.

We went here a few times. Liked it even. One customer reviewed on here «So a guy came up to our table to grab the signed receipt(normally people wait until we actually leave the table), looked at it and decided to tell my cousin, «We work hard and have cooks to make your food, so it’d be right for you to give us tip, you know? It’s the right thing to do.» Couple seconds later, he walked away«Never in my life has anyone, in any restaurant I’ve been to, have I heard someone tell us to give them tip. « We know who he means. The same guy pushed for a tip from us. I was talking to him and he completely ignored what i was saying even to the point of being rude. Why we still left a tip is beyond me. I for one am not sad that this place is closed now

Went here on 3÷29÷2013. Just okay. The price is good. Some buffet items dry out as they’ve been sitting for a while. Ambience I’d dingy and dated. Condiments soy and salt and pepper are dirty. As of 3÷28÷2014 — I drove by and noticed this place is officially CLOSED in this location.

Came here on January 5th of this year. It was my niece’s birthday and her choice of a restaurant was to go to a buffet. So after a long day of shopping, we crossed the street to come here. I have came here multiple times before and this was my niece’s and cousin’s first time. Got in, got seated down and we went on a journey to the food. A lot of the trays were empty, and the food looked really dried out. It really isn’t how it used to be. I mean, the chow mein or whatever was decent, also was some of the stir-fried dishes. The sushi was eh, nothing really had real fish on it, everything looked fake. But moving on, we were done eating and the check came. My cousin paid and on there, he didn’t put a tip from his card because I said I was going to tip with cash. I normally don’t tip until right before we leave… So a guy came up to our table to grab the signed receipt(normally people wait until we actually leave the table), looked at it and decided to tell my cousin, «We work hard and have cooks to make your food, so it’d be right for you to give us tip, you know? It’s the right thing to do.» Couple seconds later, he walked away. Never in my life has anyone, in any restaurant I’ve been to, have I heard someone tell us to give them tip. Don’t get me wrong, I ALWAYS tip, even if the service was really bad, but to have someone just tell him that infuriated me. We calmed ourselves down for a few minutes, I put the tip on the table and we left. Never again will I come here. Thumbs down.

I wasn’t sure about this buffet. We went just after the lunch hour, so a few things weren’t stocked on the buffet. The food itself was pretty good though and the service was really good, with super-friendly employees. Not bad for a buffet.

Well, here it is, my first one-star review. Let it be known that my rating is based not on the lack of décor and the trendiest foods, because I knew, generally, what I was getting into when entering a buffet that costs $ 13.99. And I believe my expectations were completely fair — a buffet with food that keeps me coming back until I can hardly get myself out of the booth to get another helping; nothing more, nothing less. Walking by the first counter hosting a myriad of seafood, my first impression was that this place was pretty ballsy for trusting that the food would keep well enough so that they don’t inflict an awful purge of everything one ate over the past three days because of one bad clam. I later found out that it was the customers who were the ballsy ones. General Tso’s chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and beef and broccoli are all buffet staples that I usually fall back on when all else fails, but cold and extremely bland, it looked like my last line of defense wasn’t going to be there for me that one fateful night. I found refuge in the pork pot stickers, of which, I probably shoveled down 10, but there wasn’t much else to salvage this experience. I went so far as to get the french fries, a buffet sin by my standards, just so I could feel as if I over indulged by the least amount. This was to no avail, though, as these too were cold and bland. My last hope for Super Buffet was the soft-serve ice cream, the proverbial cherry on top, but tonight(and probably other nights, too) the machine was broken so they resorted to using drums of ice cream stored in a freezer for dessert. I walked over there, but was haunted enough by what I had seen and eaten before this to not trust the ice cream scoop sitting in dirty, cold water. Unless you are in dire need of a buffet and can’t manage to make it anywhere else, I would avoid this place like the plague.

I went here today and there was something wrong with my food, so I told the waiter(who was very nice) to go get the manager. So I told the manager the food was cold, and tasted frozen. He apologized after explaining it wasn’t their fault somehow. When we got the bill, I was charged the full price, even though I did not eat any food. Outraged, I talked to him again demanding to know why I was charged $ 33.00(I was with one other person) All he kept saying was I had to pay the $ 33. He refused to let me leave before I payed the bill. I should have just walked out, but I ended up paying the bill. I will never be returning to this disgusting place ever again. Their food used to be okay, but now all they use is frozen food. Even the sushi contains«cat food» crab. Go to a different buffet, there are many around.

Ewwww… Ewwwww. I should have known when I walked in and the place was a ghost town at noon on a weekday. Vile tasteless food that they should have paid me to eat. Go to Quiznos across the street. I regret that I didn’t.

It is okay to eat here. The food is not bad and just to feed you. Sometimes, some foods are cold. That is really disappointed! What is more, the option of ice cream is insufficient. That is terrible for me who is crazy about dessert. The service is good. Waiters clean your table and take away your dishes. If you wan to have a delicious meal. I less recommend this place.

They have plenty of food items, none of which I would consider really good. I understand it is a buffet so I don’t expect the highest quality but there are much better Chinese Food buffets out there, even in the Northgate area.

It was kind of a scarce collection, the only reason we showed up was for the Crab legs. They were OKAY but still tasted as if they had been frozen for a while and they were really fishy. The majority of them were pretty small too, so it was kind of lame when you FINALLY opened the crab leg and it was a measly amount of meat. Honestly I’d rather pay more money for decently sized crab legs that would actually fill me up. Pros: Crab legs Cons: They charge you if you«waste» food. When I’m at a buffet I like to try everything on the menu but if I don’t like it, of course I’m not going to eat it! Everything was fairly dry or gross. I even made sure to go at a busy time and it was still«eh.»

Today was the third(and last) time I ate lunch at this place. Other than the hot and sour soup, everything I tried was incredibly OVERCOOKED. Dry, tasteless. I wandered around the serving areas trying to find something — anything — that didn’t taste like it was cooked to death a year ago and left to stand in a warming oven. No luck. When I saw a waiter bringing out a new batch of fish I tried it right away. How about salmon too hard to cut with a fork? Salmon that didn’t even slice with a knife! Mongolian beef was an insult to the poor cow. Mongolian leather was more like it. It might be that they have better food at dinner. But for me, even though it’s «cheap» by today’s standards, that’s still good money wasted on sad, sad food.

All right, so I’ll give them the fact that they’re in a convenient location surrounded by a bunch of huge stores. An all-you-can-eat buffet here sounds like it must be a godsend, right? And they even boast that they’ve been ranked in the top 100 Chinese restaurants in the United States! Well, what are the remaining 99, and are they anything like this? More importantly, where is this list, and who made it? What were the standards employed when compiling such a list, and how is it possible to determine what the top 100 Chinese restaurants in the country are without going to all of them? I guess you could say I’m just not falling for it. I don’t believe there was ever a reasonable critic who deemed this restaurant to be at the top of anything. Sure, the food will never run out, but what else does this place have going for it? I’ll start with the sushi. That’s usually one of the best things to rush to in a buffet, and here it’s average at best. I got one of every kind; there weren’t that many, and the ones that were there were more or less the same. They could have had a decent variety going on, but it’s ruined due to the sushi being so generic. And the annoying fly moving around the table while I was eating didn’t help matters either. I wonder whether they do anything about that; I mean it’s raw fish. Lots of potential for the spread of disease if you’re not careful with those. Moving on to the fried stuff, I kind of wish I had just stuck with the seafood, because it’s really not any better. It’s obvious that they’re going for quantity over quality here, so there’s no feasible way that this restaurant could be highly rated by any worthy critic. It’s all just a bunch of food hastily put together in bulk. Everything within each section is the same, and it’s not arranged in a manner that’s aesthetically pleasing or meaningful in any way. Plus, none of the food goes well with anything else that’s available, leaving the whole restaurant feeling disjointed. I realize that that describes just about every buffet, but here it’s especially noticeable. Even with the desserts, there is some room for complaint. Tons of JELL-O and empty puffy pastries. Seriously, is there anyone who enjoys these things? The fruits are perhaps the only saving grace, and even then they’re just fruits. Oranges, peaches, grapes, watermelon. Boy, it’s not like I’ve never seen those before and couldn’t just get them myself at a grocery store where I know they’ll be fresher. On the plus side, I was pretty full and the food wasn’t the most horrible thing I’ve ever experienced, but when your expectations are raised by the conspicuous sign posted outside on the window, you tend to hold higher standards. I somehow imagine that if they remove that sign, they’ll get fewer customers but also less dissatisfaction among them. Wait, quantity overrides quality here, so I already know what’s gonna happen.

It’s a buffet so walk in with those expectations. It’s also called«Super Buffet» so that should tell you that they are trying to be a bit over the top. I went in on a Saturday afternoon. I was hungry and in the mood for a big variety of mediocre food… which is what most buffets are like. Parking was fine in the big structure adjacent to Target, etc. I am also a big fan of buffets when dining alone. It’s hard to go into a restaurant and get a good variety of food when dining alone(after all, I can’t really order like 4 different entrees at a chinese restaurant) so I do tend to gravitate towards buffets when I’m by myself… either buffets or sushi bars. Today I was debating a visit to conveyor belt sushi or buffet… and I obviously chose buffet. This place isn’t really any different from most large scale buffets(think places like Todai, etc.) in that most of the food was fairly mediocre. But what I try to find in a buffet are those dishes that can stand on their own. Dishes that could be served at a «real» restaurant without complaints. If you can find them, these are the true gems in an otherwise jungle of blah… and I found a few of these here. Good Stuff — i.e., dishes worthy of standing on it’s own in a «real» restaurant pork shu mai(dim sum) snow crab scallop sushi sticky rice(dim sum) almond cookie Edible — i.e., dishes can’t stand on their own but for a buffet, it’s passable spicy tuna rolls california rolls hot & sour soup pan fried dumplings /pot stickers peking duck — not enough duck though soft serve ice cream Virtually inedible — deserves no space on your plate General Tso’s chicken salmon(or smoked salmon?) sashimi walnut prawns — but no walnuts… just lots of mayo raw oysters chow mein fried fish pizza mongolian beef cream puffs jello Did not try… kimchi mussels roast beef(?) — carving station Please note that I went for lunch so they did not have nigiri sushi, prawns, dungeness crab, etc. Saturday lunch with a coke was less than $ 20 so for the money, I think it’s not bad if you’re in the mood. I knocked off 1 star for the food. I knocked off 1 more star because the floors were sticky… gross. They should mop the floors better. Service was good.

One of the worst buffets I have ever been to. The only thing that was good here was the staff. Came here for lunch with a group of friends and we all had high expectations for this place cause it smelt good from the street and they had a sign saying $ 8 lunch special. It was kind of hard to pass that up. After it all i wish we did just kept walking right on passed this place. When we walked in we were greeted by one of the employees, who was very nice. It was pretty busy, so we ended up waiting a half hour just to get seated, which was really annoying. We finally got our table and each of us headed straight for the food. There have plenty of choices of dishes to choose from so I went for as much as I could loading my first plate up. I finally got back to the table and tried some of the orange chicken, which is one of my favorite Chinese dishes, it was flavorless and disgusting. The worst I have ever had. So next I just went down the line of choices on my plate and it just kept getting worse. I couldn’t even finish my plate, it was that bad. The sushi was okay but defiantly not the best I have had. The only item I could eat that was somewhat decent were the pizza slices they had. The pizza tasted just a frozen Tostinos pizza, so pretty much like cardboard. When I came time to pay the cashier said it was $ 15 and some change. I was confused because the sign out front said $ 8 special. So I tried to contest it but the guy was not getting it and said the special was no longer. Then if it’s over get the damn sign out of the window. I ended up paying and got the hell out of there never to return again. This place was straight crap. Worst place possible. I have a hard time giving it one star.

Very average but consistent. I’ve eaten here a handful of times over the years. The place is clean, and I never expect to find 5 Star, gourmet Chinese food here — anyone who does is just fooling themselves. 3 stars because: The food is truly average, but they have a great selection/variety. I was practically blinded by the CFL lights they are using above some tables — lower that wattage!

A Decent Chinese Lunch Buffet in the Northgate Hood SITREP The Super Buffet is my mid-day comfort food stop. When a crappy day starts to unfold at work during the day, sometimes a $ 3.75 Tuna or Chicken kabob-sandwich at the corner deli is not gonna cut it for me. So I might come just for the Super Buffet to do some«decompressing.» THEFARE They have a moderate SUSHI selection at it’s own separate space where a sushi master makes the rolls. They are good — I won’t say fantastic, but they are good. Sometimes very good!: the basic spicy tuna rolls, crab rolls, california rolls, etc. There is also a separate Mongolian Grill that has delicious meats and vegetables that you can choose for grilling with a wide array of condiments and spices. There is also a full-on Salad Bar with lots of fresh veggie options, leafy greens(sometimes spinach) and, of course, a selection of jellos! And the Super Buffet itself is quite elaborate with traditional Dim Sum offerings but also a lot of creative vegetable, meat and seafood dishes. I always loved the stuffed crab shells, and the sauté’ed shrimp & asparagus. There is also clam halves with melted cheese: Perhaps not the most traditional dish(cheese is not a staple in Asian cuisine), but it is certainly one of the«fusion» creations that I have come to enjoy. THELOWDOWN It’s inexpensive(lunch is $ 8.99) and it hosts a tremendous variety of offerings — so the venue aims to please the broadest number of pallets, and it does an okay job.

Very very great place if you crave Chinease! Crab legs are my goal when I visit. My Boyfriend goes for the sushi that is only in the ok level for a buffet but still it calms the urge for sushi :) Every time we tip extra the Sushi chef so maybe this encourage them to more variety and quality. God variety of shrimp and good Ice cream we put fruit on top and is our final sweet treat. Very nice and smiley staff, manager greets us every time and it is a Pus :) Your glass of Soda or water is always full ++ They used to have raw oysters and it was a very very nice thing to have there. I hope they bring them back.
