Shocking front desk reception. We called 5 days back to get the appt and confirmed it for Monday 9am. When arrived at the hospital, she turned us down saying that she didn’t confirm the appointment but just mentioned that there was availability. No other words beyond that.

I would not visit this office unless you feel a $ 250 deposit for an insured individual to have a urology consult is acceptable. PNW fertility referred me to Dr Kuan’s office for a further consult on the test I took. I even called my insurance company and they said it was only $ 35 copay. The receptionist was rude and gave me no explanation but«her policy said so.» Policies can speak? She put me on the phone with a business manager, Michelle. Another waste of my time. Michelle began to explain to me that they have trouble billing insurance companies for my type of visit. Really? I must be the only person with sperm morphology issues. My visit is not uncommon, and I was only seeking an opinion not fertility treatment. Michelle was rude, clueless, and her only suggestion was to cancel my appointment. Sounds like she is managing the business quite well. Meanwhile, I am on the phone in the reception area, where everyone waiting can hear our conversation. DONOTWASTEYOURTIME!

My primary care physician recommended that I see a urologist for a couple of kidney stones that showed up on a routine CT scan. They were each 2 mm. No problem. In between other appointments and a vacation I sort of lost track. One day Swedish Urology Group left a message asking me to contact them for the referral that they had received from my PCP. Scheduling was easy, front desk and intake on the day of the appointment were all great. Once inside the exam room was a completely different story. The physician’s assistant Michi Nair, asked some specific family history questions and validated some of the questionnaire information. She told me they will provide«relief today»(whatever that meant, I wasn’t in any pain). My last kidney stone pain was three years ago and I haven’t taken any measures. PA went on at length about not needing to strain my urine(thanks, I guess… I don’t do that anyway). I had brought along a CD of my most recent MRI in case they needed to refer to it for any reason. She handled it like it was a live nuclear bomb while she pondered what to do with this disc. It was like she had no clue what to do with the information or whether to pass on the information to doctor. Eventually she gave me the CD back. Then Dr. Kuan came in and announced that I was apparently in better shape and feeling better. I reiterated that I was there on the advice of my PCP after discovering two 2 mm stones through a CT Scan. I was never in pain and my last stone incident was over 3 years ago. At that point, my condition was dismissed as completely benign and there was nothing they could do. «If you suffer any pain, please give the office a call». A complete lack of concern, empathy or friendliness. The whole experience was rather humiliating and frustrating. It was also a big waste of time, especially in light of the fact that they actively recruited me as a client. I left feeling like a malingerer. I don’t really care. I only made an appointment on the advice of my primary care physician, who’s a guy I trust completely and has never given poor medical advice. Beside manner rating: 0.
