When I adopted my corgi, Merlin, I was in the middle of a transition from a full-​time corporate career to building a business of my own, while juggling the odd temp job here and there. Luke was the first person I contacted on a hunch after reviewing many walkers on Unilocal.I was frankly pretty nervous about leaving my new baby with a stranger I didn’t know, but a temp job cropped up on short notice and I needed someone ASAP.
He showed up in the evening and met with Merlin who was still very nervous and timid after flying in to Seattle from a foster home in Oklahoma. Luke got down and said hello to my stubby baby on HIS level. I knew right away he would be the perfect fit from his ease with Merlin.
Now, Merlin is still a timid baby around strangers but he LOVES Luke and goes crazy when he sees him! Luke is definitely the leader of the pack, and Merlin recognizes him as such when they are at the dog park together. Even when I take Merlin myself and we run into Luke, Merlin spends more time following Luke around than his own fur mom! HAHA! Goes to show you how much of a bond Luke built up with Merlin in the last couple of months.

I’m writing this review from Portland. My wife and I took an impromptu overnight trip and Luke has the pups overnight. Besides getting text pics of the pups relaxing and chilling, we got a very detailed email letting us know how the pups spent their day, their overall behavior and how they settled in for the night. My pups are the loves of my life but I know they aren’t the easiest dogs to care for. But Luke handles them with ease. He is truly a dog whisperer and wonderful! I’m thrilled with Tail Waggin West and if I could give it 10 stars I would! Highly recommend to anyone!!!

This Fall, we were devastated after hearing that our much loved dog walker had been injured and would not be able to take our dog, Porter, out on park trips for at least 6 months while he recovered. We were new to the Ballard-​Fremont area and had already searched tirelessly for a trusted dog-​walker that we would feel comfortable opening up our home to and let care for our furry child. Luckily, we did not have to fret long because Luke and Tailwaggin’ West came to our rescue! Luke was willing to take us and Porter on in a pinch and we’re so grateful that he did. Porter can be a bit skittish and unsure of new people. It takes time and patience to be able to crack his shell. Luke took on the challenge with a great attitude and lots of positivity. Before long, Porter was literally flying off the couch to greet Luke in the afternoons to venture down to Golden Gardens for some dog-​park play time!
Luke is super easy going yet incredibly professional. He really understands dog behavior and has an envious amount of patience. I always look forward to Luke’s daily text status updates to hear about how much of a blast Porter had running around with the other dogs. The peace of mind we get knowing that our dog is in trusted hands with Luke is priceless. We highly recommend Tailwaggin’ West if you’re looking for an outfit you can trust and whose service you know you will be very happy with!

Luke walked our collie mix, Clover, back in NYC. The dogs of Seattle are very lucky to have Luke around! He’s really one of a kind. He’s extremely caring and totally trustworthy. He has a real understanding and love of dogs, and constantly goes the extra mile. Luke is very communicative also — he texted me after every walk to update me on Clover. I would give him the highest recommendation.

Luke cared for our dogs, Louis and Ella when he was working in NYC. To say we miss him is an understatement. Luke became part of our family. We trust him implicitly and our dogs LOVED him. Our dog Louis had attachment issues and separation anxiety along with terrible leash habits. Luke’s training skills and his magic touch helped us work through and make tremendous progress on both issues.
With Luke, you aren’t just getting dog walking and training services. You are getting a holistic approach to dog care, assistance with behavioral issues and bonus — he’s just plain awesome to talk to. Seattle, you are SO lucky to have Luke caring for your dogs.

We love Luke and TailWaggin’ West! Our dog Theo has been doing park trips with Luke for two weeks. He is exhausted every time he comes home, and seems to really enjoy his trips to the park. Just the other day (in December), Luke took some of the dogs swimming, and Theo was more than excited for this opportunity.
We love the service and Luke’s professionalism. The prices are very reasonable, and quite worth it. Our dog Theo loves his trips and the attention he gets from Luke, and we love having a tired puppy when we come home.

Luke is a dog lover and a gifted trainer with endless patience and caring. He has walked my dogs and it is obvious how they respect and adore him. If your pooch just needs more manners or someone trustworthy to watch over them while you are away — Luke is your guy! Bonus: He is also affordable considering that he is a fully licensed and insured professional imported from New York City.
