The Blake Apartments

I love living here. The staff, particularly Julia, are great. My neighbors all seem pretty friendly. The only cons I can list are that sound carries exceedingly well, cell phone reception can be a bit tricky at times, and the water/​sewer/​garbage costs seem a bit high. Otherwise I like our open one bedroom; the layout, the windows, the appliances, the bathroom. The roof deck up top is glorious — I really enjoy calling The Blake my home!

The Blake is a ‘great’ building to live in with a beautiful roof and within easy access to The Junction, however the good side of living here ends there.
Beware that the management has tried to change the terms of my lease without my consent. My lease states that utilities will be billed at a flat monthly rate. Then, starting in 2015, a third party utility service started billing me. As a result, my utility bills have increased. I have tried to work this issue out with the management several times but they keep giving me the run around — they are directing me to a clause in my lease that is not applicable in this situation. Since this is a blatant breach of contract, I am currently in a legal battle with them regarding utility billing.
If you don’t care about being taken advantage of and want to live in a great location near the Junction, the Blake is the place for you. But if you, like me, don’t stand for being taken advantage of, stay away from The Blake. Beware of the management at this place.

Renter beware… I signed a lease for flat rate utility billing to be included in my rent then they pulled a bait and switch to a third party utility billing with only a 26 day notice. The fees on the third party billing are exceptionally high.
THIS IS ILLEGAL AND FRAUDULENT!!!

Manager is a total bully.

I moved here in Nov and wanted to settle in before I write this review. What are my thoughts so far. It has exceeded my expectations. Yes this is a new building and it is still has a few kinks, But they are very minor. From the view of the clubhouse. To how quite it is your apartment. All things are great.
Now to the staff. Very very responsive. Twany, James, and Julia do a great job staying atop of things. And Jason keeps the place humming along.
Everyday I come home I say that I am glad I live here. The neighbors are friendly. Believe it or not, people actually speak to each other here.
I can’t wait for the summer to get here so I can really enjoy the rooftop deck.
