Great Neighborhood spot. I drive by this place all the time. Finally curiosity caught me and had a night out with friends. It was a great spot to get drinks and chat with friends. They have a good selection of drinks and bartenders were quick to notice and take are drinks. Very good neighborhood bar. I will be dropping by again to try out a few more of their drinks.

We love this neighborhood bar! The bartenders are all super friendly, and they have some good drink specials(happy hour, Manhattan Monday, $ 12 bottles of wine on Tuesday). They do serve some snacky food and sandwiches, but you can now also order burgers from their sister restaurant, Two Doors Down, and they’ll deliver straight to you. The specialty cocktails are pretty good, a little on the pricy side, and they have fairly good bloody marys. They do only have 4 taps, but they rotate frequently so you’ll always have new options. Being from Wisconsin, I love that they carry Leinie’s, and of course, PBR.

Opens at 4:00 pm, and is close to my Mom’s place. Parking is likely going to be a nightmare, there are steep hills everywhere and no lot. I think the bartender’s name was Bryce and he was cool. Shot of Balvenie Doublewood 12 year old was $ 14.00…reasonable, I guess. Interior is very interesting to look at. I’d go back, they have some beguiling looking food offerings on the menu for reasonable cost.

Delicious food and good beer selection. Not the most friendly and/or helpful but I am going to keep going and tipping big to encourage a friendlier experience. I had a burger that was Fantastic!

Love this place. Great neighborhood bar. Lots of friendly people. Good cocktails if you want them, a few interesting things on tap but also dive bar stuff like cheap pounders of PBR. Truffle popcorn is a must. Now that Two Doors Down(burger joint next door) opened, because it’s owned by the same person, you can order food over there and they will deliver it to you in Bottleneck.

It’s pretty much the only good place in the area. The music is good, the vibe is all right. Prices are reasonable. I always get the popcorn.

I moved to BottleNeck’s neighborhood a year ago, but always passed this bar up because I thought it was for boring middle-aged people(not all middle-aged people are boring, but these imaginary patrons were, in my head) for some misguided reason. My boyfriend persuaded me to visit for a quick cocktail before our NYE dinner plans. I’m SO glad, because that night I learned about BottleNeck’s TRUFFLEBUTTERPOPCORN. Popcorn is my favorite snack and I am basically a truffle pig, so I fell in love with BottleNeck immediately. We’ve now been just twice, which is a calamity. The cocktails are good and inventive. I tried a «His Nibs» recently and it’s very thick and chocolaty, meant to be sipped slowly… or you could down several quite good $ 5 Manhattans on a Monday. My boyfriend ordered a Reuben sandwich and he liked that, though the greens that came with it were under-dressed. I will never not order the truffle butter popcorn. For $ 5, are you kidding me? It’s AMAZING. I could marry it. Everything is reasonably priced for Seattle and some things are a downright steal. There’s bar seating, window seating, a bunch of small tables, and some couches in the back. It’s an intimate space but it feels comfortable, not crowded. The bartenders are just attentive enough, but not terribly interested in socializing. Or maybe they are and they just don’t want to interrupt me when I’m being groped by an effusive drunk man whom I’ve just met(with a very sober boyfriend named Roman), or waxing political after only one drink. I could definitely make a habit of BottleNeck, and I hope to do just that. I’ve never been a regular before! I’m excited.

It gets pretty packed depending on the time you stop by. Good for one on ones. $ 10 bottle of wine Tuesday’s are dangerous but much appreciated. Heavy hand is a plus in my book. I’m all for efficiency.

The best little hidden treasure bar on the east side of the hill. So sad that I moved away to the boonies of W. Seattle and I’ll not find another place like it. Great place to catch the game, or just enjoy a great bevie. xoxo

Great local place to Meet up with friends or make new ones. Never had a bad experience here. I have always gone alone and always have met new interesting people. Great local neighborhood place to have a relaxing time. Haven’t tried the food yet. But always a great bet for a good time. Small but big enough for a group odd friends to hangout.

As the Irish would say, «This is my Local.» Location is everything and I started going here several months ago because it’s in walking distance of my house in Madison Valley. That said, I return because it’s awesome. The people are friendly, the drinks are reasonably priced and they have awesome barber shop chairs in the side room that actually recline while you wet your whistle. Close enough to the Cap Hill Scene to transition but far enough away from the fray to feel a little removed which is nice. Cheers!

Very slow service, bartender is also the cook. Food is made on a George Forman style grill and the menu has not changed in years. Happy hour is not so happy. The Nieghborhood lady and Chucks hop stop are better bets. Great happy hour friendly servers and good food

My husband and I are newbies to the Seattle area. We moved here from Louisville, KY about three weeks ago. Feeling nostalgic for the Kentucky Derby, I Googled Derby Parties + Seattle and ran across this little gem. We arrived yesterday a few minutes after the doors opened. This place made us feel right at home. The lounge was crowded, but not loud, and we found a seat with a view of the TV. Everything was clean and tidy. The Mint Juleps were strong, as they should be. The Seattle Slew was also delicious. We shared the goat cheese plate as well as the soft pretzel with two different types of mustard. Both were awesome and very flavorful. Everything was very affordable. All of the waiters were very attentive, including the owner who we got to have a quick convo with. I wish this unpretentious hang-out wasn’t all the way over in Capitol Hill, but it is worth the trip! We will be back very soon!

I ended up here randomly after having dinner at the Harvest Vine nearby and am so happy I did. There’s nothing fancy about it, but the cocktails were great, the vibe was laid-back, and there was a good crowd. It’s a small bar, but there is a connecting room that used to be a barber shop and there’s still a couple of awesome barber shop swivel chairs. There’s also a large comfy couch perfect for cozying away from the rest of the bar. I tried the Bees Knees(gin, lemon juice, and honey) cocktail and it was super refreshing– tasted kind of like a gin lemon drop. My friend had the bijou(gin, vermouth, chartreuse, and orange bitters) which oddly tasted kind of like spiced cider. Both were served in martini glasses and both were delicious. Overall, a fun, cute neighborhood spot that I can see myself coming back to, but probably only when I’m in the area again.

This bar is rather nice and homey but sadly it has a quite a few regulars. And if you are a newcomer, it is very easy to get neglected. Also the vibe of this place is definitely for the older crowd(50+) I went here with a few people and we could barely pry ourselves through the wall of middle aged regulars to talk to the bartender. The drinks took really long to get to us because he was knee-deep in conversation with his regulars. Closing the tab was another story. So for now, I will avoid the BottleNeck lounge during weekends. But maybe on a weeknight when its not too crowded I’ll go there. The bloody marys are pretty good.

A friend wanted to go here for the first part of his birthday… it was close to my house so I joined. Why was this my first time! It really is so close to my house and the drinks are«good» but more than that it’s just such an easy atmosphere. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. The food will not win any awards so don’t go hungry… but do go!

I have been coming here for years, initially due to its being located pretty much right across the street from my place. The owner is a badass who knows her shit, and the bartenders are always top notch. It is the kind of neighborhood bar where I can go solo, sit at the bar, and have great conversation with the other regulars– accompanied by a plethora of fabulous cocktail choices. I really like the food menu. In fact, I oftentimes find myself at home, mouthwatering over the thought of the delicious grilled cheese awaiting so conveniently nearby. It is important to note that the menu was very recently updated, and the salmon plate is back(and better than ever!). I will save any further reviews of this place for the next time I have had a few cocktails there.

I came here for fellow Unilocaler, Krystin T’s birthday, and it was such a cute little place! The bar itself is surprisingly small… she had mentioned that she had put down a deposit for her birthday so I was envisioning a club in which she rented out a table, but it was actually a deposit for half of the bar! There were about 15-ish people who showed up and there was plenty of room for people to sit if they wanted to. The bartender here was great — he was super helpful with drink suggestions and proposed some good options for when I bought the lovely Krystin a birthday shot. The drinks were surprisingly reasonable — I think it was only $ 4 per shot. Super reasonable. The drinks were good although it’s not really hard to mess up a glass of white wine. My friends’ drinks were all really tasty… next time I come, I’d try a cocktail instead. The best part? There weren’t a lot of creepers around since we had the space to ourselves. It was really nice to be able to hang out without worrying about other people knocking into you. At least if someone bumped into me, it was someone I knew. :)

I like the dog-themed menu and drinks here — it’s a pleasant and humorous quirk. The bar is small but comfortable, and the drinks are quite tasty. It’s also right down the street from my home, so I’m here a lot lately. Great place to get out with friends, still able to walk there & get home safely, have a nice drink or three, and a grilled-cheese sandwich!

I came here with a few girls for girls’ night out a couple of weeks ago for drinks and food. I was pretty surprised that the place was so small and so divey… but I liked it! It felt like a combination between a lounge and a dive bar which was pretty awesome to me. The atmosphere was chill and like everyone else mentioned on a Monday evening, they were playing Tom Waits. The drinks were pretty darn delicious too. My favorite was the yelapa papa… not only because it’s so fun to pronounce but it was super tasty! Tasted like a mojito but with a fruity twist. My friend ordered the hummus platter and man, it was HUGE. The portion was very generous and if I remember correctly, the rice crackers were bomb. This is a really unique place and I felt bad for the server that night because there were so many of us and it was only him running the show; making the drinks and cooking the food too. Props to him!
