This place seems very underrated! Our group of 3 came on a Friday evening around 5:30 and it was empty. Not sure if they’re busier during the day, but I hope so. The food is decent! The clam linguine is pretty good just like the other reviews. It doesn’t feel too creamy, yet still had some flavor but maybe could’ve used a bit more salt. The clams were good and the linguine noodles were cooked just right. The others ordered sandwiches: turkey melt and French dip. Didn’t hear them talk too much about it, but they said it was good. Looks like they used baguettes. The banana bread pudding was good! Liked the moist texture and flavor, and the ice cream and caramel made it even better. I didn’t get to try the oysters during happy hour, but I hope to next time because they’re $ 2 each. They don’t serve cocktails, just beer and wine, FYI.

I had the shrimp Louie salad and the chowder with a Saison. So good, glad I stopped here! Thanks for the great service!

TL;DR – French Dip is the bomb. Happy hour is great and has potential, needs bigger crowds. I work half a block from here and this is our go-to-place for lunch. Great beer on tap, wonderful food, excellent service, great atmosphere.

Went here for a holiday party. It was OK, but not great. Cioppino was OK. They only had one red wine and the rest was white and it all wasn’t very good. I don’t think I’d go back. The one thing I did like was the pesto shrimp served. Very yummy. Great service too. Nice venue too. It was just ok for me overall

We came here for a business lunch one day. The service was good and the server answered any questions we had about the menu. I went with the clam linguine that was so highly recommended on Unilocal and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a great value for the price and damn good!

Faerie Queene is a cute, intimate little restaurant in Pioneer Square. I had a light, refreshing seafood lunch here. The seafood tasted fresh. The oysters were a little spawny for October, but a little of that is luck of the draw. They didn’t know the strain of oysters they were serving, which is a bit odd to me given that Faerie is seafood focused. Ultimately nothing to write home about, but a solid lunch/dinner option if you’re in the area.

What’s better than carbs and seafood??? Nothing! ;) My latest Pioneer Square discovery has been The Faerie Queene, a quaint, little restaurant right off of Yesler Way. My friends and I stopped by for a weekday lunch at around 11:30AM and found the place empty, a nice change from the typical lunch rush. The gentleman working there, albeit quiet, was friendly and seated us quickly. We had a friend who was running late, so it was nice that he kept checking back for their order. Our group went with the: –Clam Linguine — For $ 12, you get a light and creamy pasta topped with clams, parmesan and bacon. Portion-wise, I thought the pasta was a good size for lunch and I left satisfied. :) I also typically figure that seafood-based dishes will be a little on the saltier side. On that note, I’d probably order the clam linguine with a side salad or something else to cut the saltiness next time. –Cioppino — My friends found the cioppino to be very flavorful! Their only comment is that they wished it had a wee bit more seafood in it, especially since it’s priced at $ 13. Entrees at The Faerie Queene are definitely a bit on the pricier side in comparison to the portion, but the quality of the seafood definitely makes up for it. I’ll need to come back and try their happy hour menu sometime, which is available from 4−6PM. I mean, who can resist happy hour oysters?! :)

What a great find! Come faerie with me! Small little gem in pioneer square. The sandwiches looked awesome but I opted for the shrimp Louie salad. It packed a lot of punch for something so basic. They definitely kicked it up a notch. I was pleased. The veggies were fresh with so many beautiful colors. I could taste the rainbow. Great service. Friendly & prompt. Definitely will be heading back to try the clam linguine and other dishes.

Awweee yeaaa!!! This spot quietly opened few months ago with great seafood menu. It is small, bright and pretty. I got to check out their happy hour menu a while back but finally got to try their lunch! Yummmm! Oysters — love! And at $ 2 each during happy hour, what’s not to love! Cioppino — I had a few bites! Tasty. Chicken quioa salad — delish! And the best: their shrimp louie salad! it is soooooo pretty, tasty and a bag of chips! I’m never a big fan of salads but yumm! If all salads taste like this, I might eat veggies more than once a week. Just might. It has a little beets, string beans, louie sauce! Hmmmm! Too bad they don’t offer it with crab. I’d eat there everyday! For libation: they have the usual suspects you can find in a raw bar. Beer, wine, rose etc. The bar area at the front is quite cute too. As that one govenator would say, I’ll be back!!!

Read about the place on Unilocal, not disappointed at all after deciding to have a lite lunch there. Chose the ½ dozen oysters and although unusual a ginger beer to go with them ! Perfectly fresh and tasty oysters with a very firm body. I expect to return before leaving Seattle. The place itself may not appear fancy, but then serving good food is not necessarily how good the place looks but the quality of food, the care of the he staff and hygiene. Well done to the team here I hope you prosper in an area of many restaurants although I think you do have a niche in the area you are in.

This place is downright amazing! It’s still really new(they said about five months), so nobody knows about it yet. Hence: not at all crowded, even during their excellent happy hour. They seem to specialize in seafood. We tried the ceviche and the clam linguine, and both were fantastic. The ceviche had a nice variety of seafood, and was *just* spicy enough. The linguini rocked my world; with, again, just a tiny touch of heat, terrific flavor(clams *and* bacon?), and, most impressively, the pasta was actually cooked properly(i.e. al dente), unlike most Italian restaurants. Plus! The staff is sweet, considerate, and thoughtful, not to mention that perfect air of trying-just-a-little-harder that you get at a brand new place. Can’t say enough wow here.

A Gem! We had raw oysters(happy hour only $ 2), linguine and clams, cioppino, and banana bread pudding. The oysters were amazing, fresh and sweet. Clams were fresh and perfectly cooked. Mussels were fantastic. Reminded us of the best mussels served in Philly. The pecans and caramel went great with banana bread pudding. The service and the atmosphere were great Very impressed!

Clam Linguine! That’s all you need to know about Faerie Queene. Who would have though this little spot would be serving some of the best Italian/seafood dishes in the area? I came for happy hour during the week and found myself ordering way more food than I needed. Their happy hour food specials are somewhat forgettable(the bread with 3 butters is the same price as the rest of the day), but I was more interested in their entrees. Oysters were $ 2 each during happy hour, which is a pretty fair price. They come with a mignonette and were very refreshing during this hot Seattle summer. Clam Linguine — I would almost call it a carbonara type sauce at it seemed to have either prosciutto or bacon chunks in it, but nonetheless was the highlight of our meal. The clams were well cooked and the noodles were perfectly al dente. This is undoubtedly my recommendation for anybody coming to Faerie Queene for the first time. Chorizo Mac n Cheese — Wow this stuff was rich, but extremely flavorful. The chorizo wasn’t overly salty and there was just the right amount of cheese on the noodles. It comes in a little casserole dish and could easily serve as a dish for one person. Cioppino — Their rendition was decent, but certainly 3rd on my list of the 3 dishes I tried. It’s loaded with seafood and the stew, albeit a little more runny than I like, is excellent for sopping up in the 2 accompanying pieces of garlic bread. Happy hour is everyday from 4-close(7pm) and includes the $ 2 oysters I mentioned as well as $ 2 tall boys of Rainier and $ 4 pints of Manny’s. Beer and wine only — no full bar. Come hungry and don’t miss that clam linguine! You’re welcome.

This is a wonderful, weird, eclectic restaurant with what appears to be a stage for small people. Are you intrigued? The menu is all over the board so I can’t say that you can narrow down a style of cuisine. I would give it a go and try the fantastic food. Enjoy some of the best linguine with clams and a bit of shrimp salad. I would love to try the rest of the menu. It is also a great spot for lunch meetings with its large tables and overall a quiet room conducive for chatting. The service staff are very nice and informative. Tough this place is a little out of the way it is well worth the walk just off historic Pioneer Square.

Started with half dozen oysters which were 2 $ a piece and they were above average. The baguette and butter starter was not what I expected but good nonetheless. I wish the baguette had been a little crispier. Also tried the clam linguine and cioppino which were the best part of the meal. Can’t go wrong with either dish. Don’t expect to get too full, portions aren’t that big but it’s better that way.

My new favorite restaurant! I’m so happy that I found this little gem in pioneer square. Their food is amazing, the prices are very reasonable, especially for seafood and the service is great. The restaurant is cute and quaint with vintage lighting and a small bar. Their food is made so perfectly. The clams and linguine is my favorite, the pasta is always cooked al dente, has plenty of clams and is tossed in a delicious creamy sauce. Their cioppino is also a must try, it’s filled with various seafood(salmon, mussels, squid, clams) in a yummy broth. The raw oysters taste very fresh and complement well with the vinaigrette. Their clam chowder is rich, creamy and full of clams. I also enjoyed their chorizo mac and cheese with large chunks of chorizo. Loved their shrimp and scallop cake as well. Lastly, try their banana bread pudding, it is just decadent. I found this place 2 weeks ago and have been there 3 times already! The staff is very friendly with quick and efficient service. Awesome restaurant, I love this place!

This was a really pleasant surprise. The menu is small but the dishes get the attention they deserve. I had the cioppino and my wife had the French dip. Both were really good dishes. The cioppino had a good amount of spice with lots of clams, oysters, fish, and squid. It is nicely complemented with fresh fennel and delicious garlic bread for dipping. The French dip has a nice semi-thick au jus and the sandwich has nice tender meat with a good bread bun and a perfect amount of horseradish. They run a happy hour from four to close. The oysters in the happy hour menu are a steal and were delicious for us. Overall, a really pleasant experience!

Just very good food and you can’t beat the prices. I travel a lot and rarely come back to the same place except if the place is exceptional, and this place deserved a return visit in the same week to try more of the menu. This five star rating applied to both visits this week. Great new place! Details: Two nights ago, I had fresh oysters and the seafood ceviche. I’m not much of an oyster expert, but I would certainly order them again. The seafood ceviche had a great mix of ingredients with a highlight on the seafood, not the ‘filler’ ingredients. For dessert I had the banana bread pudding and the only thing I would have wanted more of was the ice cream(my weak spot is ice cream :-). Tonight I had clam chowder and cioppino. The clams were the highlight of the clam chowder, which is the way it should be. Plenty of tender clams, unlike the ‘potato chowder’ served at a lot of other restaurants. The clams were clearly the focus of the dish. The presentation of the cioppino was ‘picture perfect’ and I didn’t want to mess it up by eating it. But, I’m glad I did because the flavors were excellent. The mix of clams, mussels, fish, etc. was just right and I was left with a warm feeling from my mouth throughout my insides from the perfect amount of pepper. As for the prices, they are ridiculously low! The cost of a drink, clam chowder, cioppino, and 20% tip was the same as I would expect to pay for only the cioppino at any other restaurant. So, when you mix the food, flavors, and prices, this place is unbeatable in downtown Seattle.

Good Lawd! I am almost too selfish to share this awesome spot. Almost, I guess I can share. +1 For the Music — They have fantastic taste, I would hang out here if they would not mind me sitting around drinking some ginger beer +2 For the Food — Freshness all around +1 For the Service — They were attentive and friendly +1 For the Atmosphere — It is warm and inviting, very indicative of the Pioneer Square and spacious. I like the open concept into the food preparation area. Appetizer: Ceviche Main Entrée: Clams and Linguine Beverage: Ginger Beer I entered the wrong door when I tried looking for this place. Door to your right or you end up at the Kraken something-or-other. If there’s a jingle above your head, wrong entrance. I was… concerned to say the least. I was the only one there. But the warm tones of the wood and the table next to the window were perfect for lunch and the staff were welcoming; I had to stay. If a place offers up ceviche, it is an instant must. They have a fantastic mix of seafood in their ceviche: scallops, baby octopus, shrimp, and calamari rings. The vegetables were fresh and the sauce was not sour like other ceviches I have tried in the past. It was served at the ideal temperature. I only wish I had two more tortillas to eat it with. Nonetheless, it was still satisfying on its own. Based on the experiences of others, I had the clams and linguine. I. AM. A. BELIEVER. IN. THEFAERIEQUEENE. I was not expecting the heat from the sausages; it was a pleasant surprise to counter the creaminess of the sauce. The sausages did not overpower the clams at all. At first, I thought the bread needed to be toasted longer; it does not. It had enough give without being too doughy and crunch making it complimentary to the pasta without battling for your carb points. They don’t skimp on their clams either. When it says Clams and Linguine, you are going to get Clams and Linguine. The clams were tender and pulled away from the shell easily. The flavor of the sauce was absorbed into the pasta and the sauce to pasta ratio is ideal with just a little left over to soak the bread. The ingredients are fresh, you can tell the cheese on top was freshly grated, delicate little flakes melted on top. If I could give bonus points I would, The only reason this place is not packed, is because people have yet to discover it. The Faerie Queene, I hope you remember me as one of your earliest fans.

Me and my boyfriend ate here on opening day. We had a couple beers and a nice semi-sweet Seattle Cider, happy hour oysters, a baguette with 3 different types of butter and a fantastic banana bread pudding. I have to echo the previous Unilocal about the prices, completely reasonable even if you miss happy hour. They have done an excellent job on the interior. We loved the framed chalkboards, vintage style pendant lights and the nice comfy bar chairs made for a good first impression. We will definitely be back.
