Out of Eater’s 38 Essential Seattle restaurants, I don’t know that this would have been my first choice, but it was definitely one that would accommodate the wheat-free and lactose intolerant members of our semi high maintenance group. There wasn’t much food-wise that stood out so far to make me absolutely have to come back but we did eat off of the 5 course tasting menu plus another appetizer. I would come back to try other things though and would enjoy them in the pleasant atmosphere. I did appreciate the organic vodka used in my dirty martini up with extra olives… didn’t taste weird or anything. Our server was really nice and made sure that our intolerant eaters weren’t served anything that would make them react unfavorably. As far as the food, my thoughts in ALLCAPS below. Pretentious, over-priced and OVERSALTED. Our group spent over $ 500 here for a meal where we had to ask for service at every course and it took over three hours. After an hour and 45 minutes we had only been served the second out of five courses. I understand taking your time and enjoying dinner, but we were the last people to leave. Every course had way too much salt. I will say, the chickpea fritters, presentation and soup, were amazing. Everything else was just blah… and salty!

Overall a nice experience. I got the grand tasting menu with wine pairing. Some amazing dishes along the way. My problem is with the portions. The main course which was steak was a .50c piece size of steak. It was comically small. For $ 160 a person I expect to leave full. Each portion was so small that we laughed when each dish came. Granted I’m not a tiny lady here but for that price I expect to leave very satisfied and I wasn’t.

If you are looking for a brunch place with a great patio and great food, this is it! The wait staff was very attentive and helpful, and the patio itself had such a great ambiance. Everything my friends and I ordered was delicious and presented very well. This is a really good brunch spot to put on your list!

My husband and I went here this past weekend for Brunch. The service was very slow, but it was a nice day and we were sitting outside. Didn’t really bother us much. Let me preface what I’m about to write with this: I am a very petite lady and don’t need a lot of food to satiate me. I ordered to beef hash. When it arrived I was surprised to see that it was comprised of approximately three fingerling potatoes cut in half with little to no seasoning and an ounce of beef. I was hoping to get some salt to put on the potatoes but I never saw my server again. Wouldn’t you expect a beef hash at brunch to come with an egg on it? I would. The little beef that came with the dish was delicious! Needless to say, I was still famished once I finished my meal. Oh by the way, this dish was $ 17. If you’d like to have a small portion of mediocre food with inattentive service and pay for it, this is your place! Don’t worry though, Molly Moo’s is across the street and you will have plenty of room for dessert.

This was in my top five of restaurants I wanted to eat at in Seattle. I was sold so we saved it for a special occasion — New Years Eve. What transpired was the worst fine dining experience I’ve had especially for $ 260+ Ambiance — 3 We were sat next to the door but it’s quaint and we knew what to expect. Somewhat loud and crowded being a converted residence but still fine. Food — 2 We did the set menus for New Years. The kitchen was slammed and the service took 3 hours with long waits. Plates were coming out cold and the beans were way undercooked and everything was somewhat generic. Not one memorable dish. Wine — 0 We paired our dishes with the wines. The server had no idea what the wines were or anything about them. She carried them about like a bavarian beer server. She poured us a rotten white wine being very cloudy and vinegar in taste. We had to flag her down and she repoured the same wine being clear. She didn’t notice nor care. Service — 0 With the kitchen slammed and our server generally uninterested in service I couldn’t give this more than a 0. She kept pouring more wine for us to keep her tip in tact, but it’s still a 3 hour service on four courses. We thought this would give us at least an hour before midnight starting around 8:30pm. What happened next blew my mind. We scarfed our deserts and I asked if there is any way I could get a coffee in a to go cup or anything like that. I was tired and frustrated with the party we were missing. I got a response in the most condescending tone imaginable«THISISN’T A COFFEESHOP!» and she walked off… I wish I could forgive this, but it’s no excuse for how poorly everything was executed. There’s too many other restaurants that are doing a better job across the board. We left ripped off and offended.

My last trip to Tilth was mixed. Long wait for entrees after getting seated(but they were nice enough to give us a free scone) French toast brioche recipe has changed; mediocre now. Not as awesome as before.

Small intimate place with soft ambiance and great food, Tilth delivers all it promises! I’d been meaning to go here for quite some time, and was able to convince my friends to go for restaurant week. My previous experiences with restaurant week menus at other restaurants hasn’t been the best, but Tilth delivered it flawlessly. Ambiance: 5* - Tilth is located in a remodeled house, because of which it’s a lot smaller than you’d expect. There is a small bar toward the far end, and tables everywhere else. Since it’s a small place, it’s more suited toward small groups of not more than 4 or 6. The ambiance is dark & intimate, which makes at an excellent date place. The ambient noise level is on the quieter side, but it was full when we wen’t, so it was a little louder than expected. It has a very homely and cute décor, which gives you a warm and welcoming feel. They also have a patio where I’ve seen tables in the summer, but since it was much cooler in spring, they weren’t there when we went. Service: 4* - The service here is very professional and prompt. Our server for the evening was very attentive, and came by enough times to ask about the food and refill our waters and wine, not not so many as to feel disturbed. However, I did have an unusual experience in the beginning. As we reached there, it took the host quite some time to find our reservations. When he did, we were assigned a table right by the open door, to which I requested another available table toward the interior of the restaurant. The host said it was being held for another party that might have an additional person, and that was the only place they could pull a chair to. However, sometime later, we saw that table of four being occupied by just two people the entire time of our meal. This was a little off-putting. However, the rest of our service was great after this. Food: 5* - In other places I’ve been for restaurant week, the food has been underwhelming and just okay, but the food here was excellent. In addition to our food, we were offered palate censers which were very unique. I really liked the sunchoke soup, and they made a great show of pouring the soup in the bowl at the table. The asparagus was well cooked and crisp, & the risotto was well flavored as well. We really enjoyed the food here. Value: 4* - This is one of the pricier restaurants in the area. Their regular entrees are in the $ 25 – 35 range, and tasting menu is around $ 80. Even though the food quality and taste is excellent, and so is the service and ambiance, it still feels very homely & cosy, and does not give you the feel of an upscale restaurant. I really enjoyed the food and experience here, and it was one of my better restaurant week experiences. However, it’s a pretty expensive place, and this would be more for special occasions, rather than casual dinners. I’d definitely recommend it.

Restaurant week is a time I am especially critical of restaurant performance and food quality, since it’s a stress test of how well a restaurant is actually run and/or how much its chefs/servers actually give a damn about a week of making less money. Tilth passed my little test with flying colors and I would love to go back now, plz. The décor is non-restaurant week specific(obviously), but it should be noted that the atmosphere here is excellent. It’s sort of unpretentious, but still nice — in an airy Cape Cod meets shabby chic kind of way. There are cute little placemats and candles and did I mention the restaurant is actually a house(It’s on 45th… Good luck parking!)? I also thought the food was pretty decent. They do the whole bread, amuse-bouche, small-bite-with-the-check thing, which means there are some nice hospitality details to the meal. I ordered the sunchoke soup, pea risotto, and lemon olive oil cake. I have to say, it was all, on average, above average, most notably the sunchoke soup(which has a bit of fanfare to the way it’s presented), but the lemon olive oil cake was notably dry and hard. Minus points for that, in my book. The pea risotto could have been a pasty, mashed mess flavor-wise, but it was fairly well proportioned and textured, saved from blandness by sprigs of greens and pine nut buggets. It’s difficult to envision this dish as anything but a bowl of mush, but I’ve seen risotto done well at other places, so I was a little underwhelmed a bit by the presentation(as a bowl of mush). Service was also good, however there were some timing issues between courses… No big deal though. Overall, would definitely come back here to attempt their full blown menu. Good job, wallet! Good job, Tilth!

Came here for restaurant week dinner. Cozy little house in Wallingford. I had asparagus as appetizer, pork loin as main entrée and chocolate ganache as dessert. Wish we had tried wine pairing as well but we had plans to grab drinks with friends later in the evening, so we decided to pass on the wine pairing. Next time :)

Tilth is a cute little restaurant in the Wallingford neighborhood that specializes in organic food and caters to not only us omnivores, but to vegetarians and vegans alike. My wife and I both had the omnivore 5 course tasting menu and we shared a bottle of wine. The food was excellent, though the portions were quite small. After all five, though, we both left full. The only thing that set me off was that most of the plates contained something pickled, and I hate pickles. I should have mentioned that before the meal though, so that’s my fault. If you don’t like pickles, speak up! The service was acceptable, but rather cold and distant. From other reviews here on Unilocal,I think that might be intentional. The atmosphere is also kind of dull. The emphasis is definitely on the food and the person across the table, but it never hurts to have a more interesting atmosphere. On Thursday night at 7PM there were only 2 other parties seated in the restaurant with us. By the time we left around 8:45PM, there were quite a few more full tables. The noise level was very low. What took this review from 5 stars to 4 is the general air of pretension(intentional or not) plus the cost of the meal compared to the value. In recent months, we’ve eaten at How to Cook a Wolf and Matt’s in the Market — both solid 5 star restaurants, both of which have far more inviting atmospheres and way friendlier staff, and at both we enjoyed our meals at least as much or more and ended up paying less. Tilth is a fantastic restaurant if organic food is *very* important to you or if you’re a vegetarian or vegan and want to enjoy a fancy 5 or even 8 course tasting menu.

Walking into this restaurant is like coming to your best friend’s house for dinner. Intimate tables with low lighting. I had the vegetarian tasting menu, while my bf had the gluten free tasting menu. Everything was delicious but the portions were small for a tasting menu. The standouts for me were the sunchoke soup, the risotto and the ganache cake. Service was a bit stiff and cold. Somebody tell them that it’s ok to smile!

I came here with friends on a saturday morning a couple weeks ago. I had just gone for a long run, so I was definitely hungry and craving some protein! I ordered the soft scrambled eggs and a side of bacon(that I refused to share!). The scramble was good, but the bacon was the absolute highlight of the meal! It was a pretty thick cut, that was cooked perfectly. Overall, the food is good and it’s a very cute little place. Kind of like dining in someone’s home.

Tasty«healthy» brunch for what you’d expect to pay at an organic restaurant. We tried the mink duck burgers and the cheddar biscuits with chicken and gravy. The duck burgers were juicy and the picked mustard seed sauce on the burgers was a great compliment. The fingerling potato chips were super crispy albeit a little hard to eat since the chips were so small.(Fingerling potatoes aren’t very big to begin with). While biscuits and gravy is usually a very heavy dish, Tilth’s version didn’t leave you feeling sluggish. Add 2 coffees($ 4 each) and you’re at about $ 40 for brunch, not cheap but again you’re paying for the organic /fresh ingredient appeal of Tilth.

This has been my favorite restaurant that I’ve tried in Seattle since moving here. I had it on my «list» and finally one night we passed it and decided to stop in. Luckily there was a table since we didn’t have reservations. I love the style of the place– kinda like a converted craftsman. It’s very warm and cozy and quiet. And it’s a place for someone dressed up or down. It has a quirkiness where if you’re wearing jeans, that’s completely ok. All the staff we encountered were very nice too. Now to the food… I had the vegan tasting menu, but I think some things have changed since then so here are some samples of what I tried: Celeriac soup– so delicious. You get freshness from the apple and celery and then suddenly a hint of peanut butter. Bean cassoulet– this is very good. I subbed this dish from another tasting and I’m so glad I did. Truthfully, I was pretty full already but I couldn’t stop eating it. Parsnip risotto– again, great favors. I’m a huge risotto fan so I loved it. It’s filling, though, with all the other courses, so eat slowly and don’t try to force it down. Cashew cheesecake– I was slightly disappointed but only because cheesecake is my favorite and I like gluten! :) for those who do not eat gluten, I bet you would love it. I heard raves from the main 5 course tasting. All the dishes are supposed to be delicious. I highly recommend this place.

I had the best experience at this restaurant. Our server, Andrew, was possibly the best waiter that I’ve ever had. His charm and good looks only add to the experience. I highly recommend Tilth – ask your host to seat you in Andrew’s section, and you’ll be sure to have a fantastic dining experience.

I wanted to love this place because I had heard so many great things but I left feeling underwhelmed. Nothing was bad but nothing was great which is why I had to give it two stars. I love Maria Hines other restaurants and am such a fan of locally sourced dishes/organic but everything seemed lack luster: the food didn’t have much flavor, not much jumped out on the menu, and the service staff seemed as if the could care less we were there. My experience was over brunch so maybe I need to give it another chance for dinner.

It was a perfect brunch! The setting, the service, and the food(THEFOOD) couldn’t have been better! Four of us shared a multitude of items and each one was better than the previous one. Our table was overflowing with buttermilk scones(served with currant-apple purée, brown butter, and holmquist hazelnuts), french toast(served with raspberry purée, holmquist hazelnuts, and chantilly cream), a sourdough waffle(with maple whipped cream, candied pecans, and apple compote), and the most delicious roasted potatoes that I’ve ever had the pleasure of sinking my fork into. Most of the items served are organic, and those that have any ingredients that are not are clearly marked on the menu. Many items are gluten free. Everything was beautifully presented. And, the fantastic coffee kept on coming. Like I said, it was a perfect brunch!

Although the restaurant was quite small and stuffy inside, I did appreciate the casual feel to it. We came here on a saturday night, and it was totally packed, noisy, and the food was incredibly slow. However, our server and the host were pretty nice and cheerful, which sort of made up for our slow food. I also liked that the menu offered different portion sizes, vegan, gluten free, and vegetarian options. I’d say the best dish was probably the duck sliders, and carrot cake for dessert. A great experience overall, but I’d only go back on a weekday when it’s less crowded.

We came here for our anniversary. Upon walking in, expectations were soaring and mouths watering. Ambience(4): the restaurant is set inside of a house, very quaint and intimate. The music is soft yet loud enough to hear, un– interrupting to your private conversations. The chairs are comfortable, no arm rests. Overall, Tilth’s ambience is elegant and beautiful. Service(5): the staff is very nice. They continuously check in to confirm if everything is to satisfaction. They are friendly and accommodating. Food(0): very disappointed. In the 8 course tasting, the best dish was the coconut cheesecake(that wasn’t even on the menu, compliments of the kitchen as the food was very poor). The tasting started with a cauliflower soup, that came out cold the first pour(unintentional). The friendly staff asked how it was, upon hearing that it was too cold to stomach the rich butter broth, they sent us a warmer one that tasted like butter(which is yummy but overly simple). The second dish a bitter salad with a tangy cream dressing, we couldn’t palate more than a few bites. Following the worst salad I’ve ever had, they served a red pepper savoury flan(tasted like queso dip) and a sprinkle of fried onions and corn– the flan was goopy and untouchable; the veggies were nice but scarce. Onwards we taste, straight to a bowl of fava beans and oyster mushrooms in a salt bath– we had to send that back as we were chomping on the salt, unbelievably sickening. This dish was followed by salmon with horseradish cream sauce, it was nicely done. Beef and potatoes trailed after the salmon, not wowing but better than what we had. A cheese course(1 goatsmilk cheese, 2 small toast points and 3 spiced pecans with honey gel) followed the beef, neither good nor bad. A palate cleaner refreshed us as we prepared for a very very rich chocolate ganache desert(the cream on-top the cake was flavourless and overly dense). The kitchen did send us a coconut cheesecake on the house as they saw that the food was lack-lustre I suppose, very nice of them. They also removed the charge for our wine(dare I say they are used to the food quality?) We really liked the people and service, but that’s the extent of it.

I am getting hungry just thinking about the food, I came here on Wednesday evening to celebrate a friend’s birthday! I was pleasantly surprised by all the acknowlegement from the staff of my friend’s birthday. It was a very nice gesture. I definitely can see the ambiance and atmosphere that the restaurant is going for: cozy, intimate, and welcoming. The staff was very understanding of my friend’s late arrival, which was a definite plus. They were not overbearing as some restaurants would be. In terms of the food, it was amazing, but i wished for slightly larger portions. I think all of us wanted more of the delicious food that we had! I do understand small, but filling portions. It wasn’t quite there yet. I am not sure of the regular menu; it may be different. Let’s get on to the food! Smoked Tuna Pâté: SOGOOD! I loved it so much. It was a good amount and tasted so creamy and delicant. Carlton Farm Pork Loin: This was very yummy. I wished there was a little bit more potatos to accompany the dish. The dish was overall pretty sweet, moreso than savory. I did enjoy the figs a lot. Carnaroli risotto: I normally do not really like risotto, because I feel it tastes like a slightly better porridge. This on the other hand, made me want more!!! It was just so flavorful and delicious! Theo Chocolate Ganache Cake: very sweet and textured. I enjoyed it! I really did like the food, but wanted a little bit more! Again, i can only speak for the portion sizes for the SRW menu. I plan on definitely coming back and trying the regular menu. Thanks again for making my friend’s bday so special!

My impression of this place: It’s primarily an ego project for the chef. The customer is just an afterthought. And, that’s a shame because the staff was overall pretty nice. My four brunch mates and I were all underwhelmed by the various dishes we ordered. You know how yummy chimichurri sauce is, right? Well it doesn’t have any flavor here. None! Then there’s the fact that I left hungry. I asked if I could please have a small portion of potatoes instead when I found out my dish came with toast. This being a dish labeled«gluten free.» But, nope. I could pay for a side of potatoes, however. I talked to the manager about this and was told such matters are out of his hands — it’s up to the chef. So they label a dish GF, but if you want it GF you won’t get all of the food for which you’re paying, and you won’t get a substitute. Seems if they reined in the chef a bit and focused more on the customer that this would be a fine place. As it stands, I won’t be back. My brunch mates concurred.

The restaurant resides in an older home with white lights hanging outside. The décor inside displays scattered, hanging air plants and a neat showcase of wines in the back. It can seat maybe 30 people max. Definitely provides an intimate setting for a date night or small gathering. The service was almost comparable to service you’d receive at a fine dining restaurant. Our server was polite, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food came out in a timely manner and all at the same time like we had requested, as well. I’m only giving 4 stars, however, because while the food was good, it was not something I’d crave again until next year. The duck burgers were delicious paired with chips dipped in duck fat(MMM). The tagliatelle pasta was lightly covered in sauce that wasn’t too salty, which I always appreciate in a sauce, but then ended up a little bland. The sock-eye salmon. forgettable?

My boyfriend and I came here for an anniversary dinner and did the 5 course tasting menu. My boyfriend is pescatarian, so he ordered the vegetarian version, while I got the standard. I’d noted on our Open Table reservation that we were celebrating an anniversary, so when we arrived, our server immediately brought out complimentary champagne for us. It was such a lovely touch! We were impressed by the food — standouts were the chilled pea soup with crab(this unassuming starter turned out to be the star), the rib, and a pasta dish. My risotto was not al dente, but that was honestly my only complaint. My boyfriend hates when he doesn’t feel full after a dinner, but trust me — we were both stuffed after the tasting menu. Food presentation was also impressive. The ambience was romantic and thoughtful. The music was set at exactly the right volume so that you couldn’t hear anyone else’s conversations, but not so loud you couldn’t hear your dining partner. Finally, our service was fantastic. It was an intimate, delicious, fun, and leisurely way to celebrate an anniversary. I highly recommend for times when you have celebrations and want a dining ~experience~.

We came here for our anniversary dinner and I was blown away by all the favors, presentation, and creativity of this place! It’s definitely going to the top of my favorites list! Everything tasted amazing, and was cooked to perfection! We had the 5 course tasting menu, and I highly recommend it, it is very filling. I am a pescetarian and they were wonderful about substituting meat for fish. My husband had the steak and believes it’s the best steak he’s ever had. I’ve been craving the cold Dungeness crab and pea soup ever since, it was probably my favorite thing! And the rich chocolate dessert was heavenly!

Tilth is a cute little organic restaurant on Wallingford! I love the cute green little house with a very homey and sleek interior. The wait staff was friendly and overall a very bright feel. We opted for the 5 course tasting menu with a few additions. The amuse bouche was a little spoon of cherry tomato halve with vinaigrette, cucumbers. Nothing too special about the flavor. The hors d’oeuvres were delicious! The little cracker with jam and goat cheese, almond and basil. Very tasty! The split pea soup with the crab and pickled veggies! The best split pea soup I’ve ever had. It was delicious and cold and refreshing for a hot summer day! The St. Jude’s tuna was seared to perfection! The tuna was soft and buttery and delicious! The mushroom and corn risotto was good. I wouldn’t say it was my favorite dish of the night. The beef tri tips contained way too much balsamic. I’d say it was too salty for my taste and it was missing a char to the meat. Nothing special about this dish as well. The grilled romaine had a good char and flavor. Wouldn’t say there was anything special about this dish either. And the pork belly had a crisp to it but definitely missing the soft buttery melt in your mouth texture. Wasn’t too excited for this dish as well. The cherry balsamic sorbet was delicious and very refreshing. I though presentation was great and a big plus for being all organic. Overuse of balsamic in all the dishes and a little too heavy handed with the salt. Overall I loved the split pea soup and hors d’oeuvres and the tuna!

This review is mainly about the customer service of the restaurant. So I’ll be quick on the other stuff. Food — Solid B+. We had the grand tasting. Too much food for me. Recommend the standard. And it was a bit overpriced in comparison to similar places like this. Drinks — B– Wine pairing was so-so. In compared to other places we’ve done this type of meal. Ambience — A+ One of the best I’ve seen. We sat outside and they brought a space heater just for us. Beautiful location. Customer Service — F, and it could’ve been an A had our server not screwed up our bill and charged our credit cards wrong. She didn’t noticed it, my wife did. And when she pointed it out(doing the honest thing), there was no apology. No «I’m so sorry for the inconvenience.» It was like we caused the issue. She then brought the new invoices. We signed. Again, no apologies. We leave with a sour taste in our mouths and then get a phone call from the server at the restaurant. «We need you to come back and sign the receipts.» I watched both my mother and wife sign their separate invoices and left. This wasn’t our problem and she made it ours just like the screw up with undercharging. I was about to turnaround when I got another call saying they just needed to know how much we were charging. She assumed we would add 20% tip, which wasn’t the case given her attitude. But that is what she said she was going to do. I said, «Fine, charge it and know we’ll never be back.» Overall it could’ve been a great evening. We would’ve overlooked the fact the food was over priced as hell and she screwed up our bill. But no, it’s our problem not there’s. Worst experience I’ve had in a long time at a restaurant. Next morning and I still have a bad taste.

Wowza! If you have a few hours for a leisurely dinner and don’t mind the semi-hefty price tag, definitely get to Tilth and try their 8-course tasting menu + wine pairing. Located in a house converted to a restaurant, Tilth is right on 45th, with an upscale, yet warm feel. While it was still extremely toasty outside, we opted to be seated indoors, instead of dining al fresco. Service was fantastic and our server really took the time to explain each course, along with its wine pairing. On to the food! We started with an amuse bouche(one mushroom, one tomato), and moved on to chilled english pea soup and watermelon carpaccio, which were both incredibly refreshing given the temperature outside. I’ve really been into savory watermelon lately, and this was a nice take on it. Before we moved on to more substantial dishes, we were treated to pea flan with morels and a tagliatelle dish with a light tomato buerre blanc. Unfortunately, my pea flan arrived with a hair(not mine), and it was quickly sent back and replaced with a new plate. Pretty sure the pea flan was my favorite dish of the night. Sockeye salmon with barley and an awesome smoked tea foam and beef tri-tip rounded out the meal. We ended with a peppered fromage and a rich Theo chocolate ganache cake. The entire tasting menu took about 2.5−3 hours and the wine pours were more than generous. At times, we felt like we were chugging just to keep up. Let’s just say we were both sufficiently hammered by the time we left(success)! Roughly a quarter of the menu changes a few times a year, so this is a great way to try new dishes, along with perennial favorites.

I live right next door to Tilth. I mean, directly next door. Day after day I would walk by and watch people enjoying incredible looking brunch dishes on the front porch, wishing I could afford such a luxurious meal. Then Restaurant Week came to my rescue! I had my girlfriend dress up and prepare for a loooooong walk(which turned out to be ten feet from our front door). Surprise! The three courses were $ 30 a person, though the normal prices run a lot higher. We started with some homemade sodas(rhubarb and raspberry). They were ultimately disappointing — underflavored and odd tasting. The amuse bouche was a lovely little treat that just set up the wonderful meal to come. Starters: Salad with bacon vinaigrette(3/5, pretty ordinary) and clams with chickpeas and sausage in a wonderful sauce(5⁄5) Main: Chicken with broccoli rabe and a potato(5⁄5) and thistle risotto(4.5÷5) Dessert: Goat cheese parfait with berries(5⁄5) and Theo chocolate cake(5⁄5) Overall we were very pleased with our meal and our service. I removed one star because when we first arrived at the restaurant we waited at least twenty minutes(possibly more) in the cramped entry even though we had a reservation. People who came in after us got seated immediately. But I understand that it’s a fine art trying to anticipate how long customers are going to stay and overall it didn’t ruin the experience, just something to consider.

Was surprised that the venue was very home-y and welcoming. The venue was pretty small. Loved the food options, I highly recommend the French toast! The also ordered the soft scrambled eggs, but wasn’t too impressed. I asked if they offered their Hors d’œuvre plate during brunch, which they don’t. They then surprised me with a special plate of hors d’oeuvres on the house! All the dishes were so elegant and picturesque! Customer service here blew us away(In a positive way)! I’d recommend this place to anyone. Recommend making a reservation though.

we celebrated our 2 year anniversary here and it was an incredible experience! Our server was fantastic and brought us champagne and hord’erves! The dinner was magical — I ordered a cod dish and my fiancé ordered the porkbelly. The flavors had ‘depth’ ingredients were well thought out. Maria Hines is a talented chef and we loved every single bite! My favorite dish was the soup. I don’t remember the name but the soup was pureed to perfection. It was SO smooth and one spoonful will have you sit back and relax after you sigh at how delicious it is… The presentation was also very unique! :)

This is a unique location as the restaurant is in a house. Parking in the area is a pain as well. The food was pretty good though. The mini duck burgers are a clear winner. I also had the albacore tuna for my main and it was cooked nicely.

I’ve been in Wallingford many times and never realized Tilth was right across the street from Musashi’s and a just down the street from Molly Moons. The moment I walked up to the restaurant I thought it was very cute and clean. This place has a elegant home-y feel to it. There was a good amount of outdoor patio seating in the front. As you walk through the door there is a small but nice sun room with counter seating. We walked in and the waitress told us that Happy Hour is only in the patio seating, sun room, or bar. We chose to sit at the bar since the weather wasn’t very warm and the sun room seemed a bit tight. The waitress was very helpful in educating us on the food and cocktail selections. She was very attentive, which is something I look for in good service. Food: Watermelon Carpaccio: Feta, French Melon, and Mint. This is a very light and refreshing dish. Both me and Mr. Chautime love watermelon so we thought to give it a try. I think the verdict is watermelon is best eaten on its own. The taste was fine, but I don’t prefer cheese with my watermelon. Steak Tartare: This is a pretty straightforward dish. The tartare was seasoned wonderfully and went very well with the toasted bread. Mini Duck Burger: Aka sliders. These were my favorite. The duck was cooked perfectly. It comes with house made ketchup, mustard, and homemade fingerling potato chips. The duck burger is thick, dense, and juicy. This would be amazing full size. Chocolate Sorbet: Freeze dried raspberry, holmquist hazelnut. If you get in here on Unilocal you get a free sorbet intermezzo. Since two of us checked in the waitress gave us a 1 big scoop.(How thoughtful) It was delicious and I loved the hazelnut that came with it. It was crunchy and a nice texture contrast with the smooth creamy sorbet. Drinks: My dinner date Mr. Chautime got the Pimm’s Cup and I got the House Cocktail. Both were sweet and refreshing. Perfect summertime drinks. The Pimms cup was more sweet while the house cocktail was more acidic due to the grapefruit in it. I had a very hard time picking a cocktail because they all sounded so good! I also took a peep at their tasting menus. They looked very delectable! They also provide vegetarian and gluten free tasting menus! I’ve heard wonderful things about their brunch as well! Something I’ll have to try in the future.
