I am a long distance member of the WAC so it seems a bit unfair to be rating the restaurant in «my own» club, but after having dined there dozens of times over the past 20 years I will offer my opinion. Dinners in the sit down restaurant and in the sports bar(Hagerties) are consistently B+ to A– depending on the day. Steaks are good, seafood of the day is good, scallops are always perfectly cooked. Wine is very fairly priced — the lowest markup in Seattle on great Walla Walla reds. If you are looking for the latest and greatest places — like the ones on Capital Hill where you have to know 3 friends who know 3 secret friends to make reservations a year in advance, the WAC is not your place. Otherwise, great steaks, and the crab bisque is what I want to eat for my last meal on earth.

The food was good and priced well. As I said in my tip don’t sit at the Bar. Tom the bartender will totally ignore you if your not a regular. His service sucked paid no attention to me had to ask bus boy for water. Took forever to bring check. Might hi back but will sit in main dining and not bar.

Place is ok. Took them 20 minutes to bring out our food and it seems slow. The food doesn’t blow me away either. I do however encourage you to try the mango soup. It’s yummy! Food is not too expensive.

Actually pretty great place. Clean, exclusive, quiet. Great value on private rooms. Nice views of downtown. Everyone in our party enjoyed everything we got. It’s not Canlis, but it’s not priced like a 5 star either.

I had an excellent experience here, celebrating a(now) exboyfriends birthday. The atmosphere is very classy and upscale. The waiter told us his honest opinion about the appetizer that we had ordered and then gave us a complimentary cheese plate because he felt bad for trying to dissuade us. The crab dip was the best I have ever had, and their wine list is amazing. The only negative side is their menu is a bit strange. I can honestly say I would never order bone marrow, but if that’s your thing, you’ll fit in here.

My husband and I enjoyed a very nice meal at Torchy’s last night. Prime rib for me and scallops for him. Both well-prepared and generous. Our server was attentive and efficient. The«Great American Songbook» was playing in the background. I like the window tables looking out over 6th Avenue. So it’s great people watching from the 2nd floor. The place is a little dressy and I’m fine with that! Adds a nice sense of «specialness» to the evening. We’re WAC members and often end up our workout at Torchy’s. It’s consistently a good experience.

One star is waaaay to generous for this place! Had both Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner with my family at Torchy’s, a tradition that has spanned a decade. We’ve never found the food to be particularly good, but this year it was beyond disgusting! The prime rib tasted like and resembled shoe leather… in fact I think shoe leather is softer than the prime rib I got. The mash potatoes tasted as if they were the instant microwaveable type, by no means up to the quality you would expect at such an «elegant restaurant». The cranberries were dull and tasteless. As for the service, it was lacking also. Even though it was a buffet, the waitress still could’ve provided us with the right amount of silverware and some type of bare bones service. One of the«special features» of Xmas at Torchy’s are«The Dickenson Carolers», but in my opinion this is just downright lame! Unfortunately, the bad food is not just limited to Torchy’s on Thanksgiving and Xmas. I’ve had meals in both the WAC’s sports’ bars and the quality is just as bad… if not a tad bit worse. Overall, I would give the WAC’s culinary team a solid F on food! I’ve had better dinners at Arby’s!

Been here a few times with my boss who has a membership. I’ve had breakfast here which was really good. The standard Continental Breakfast; cant go wrong with that. Been a couple of times for lunch; everything I’ve had has been good so far. Top notch service each time.

Bad food. Pretty nice staff. Hotel food is always bad, though, because there’s no competition, I guess.

I’d like to give this place 2.5 stars but since there aren’t any halvsies I’ll go with 3. We took a co-worker for her birthday here. We called in advance to let them know it was her birthday and if they could do something special for her. We also told the hostess again before we were seated that it was our friend’s birthday. Considering we were at the WAC I figured the service would be superb but it was pretty crappy. We asked for a minute to look over the menu which turned into 15. I’ve worked in the food industry before and have a lot of patience but our server only had one other table. The food was great though. After we finished our lunch the server came by to get our member numbers and/or credit cards and we had to remind him again that is was our friends birthday. He came back a few minutes later with a HUGE mini cake which, if it hadn’t tasted like a Safeway cake, could have made the end of the lunch special but at that point the mood was gone. It just felt like an afterthought.

Outside of the fact that you need a cashmere turtle neck and a sports coat to eat here, I think it’s pretty flippin’ fabulous, seriously, some of the best food in town! Goat cheez and salmon yo! I will dock a star though the next time they ask my army jacket clad ass to use the catering entrance… again.

The weekend breakfast at Torchy’s is decent. I had the pancakes and two over-easy eggs, although the eggs were more fried than over-easy. The service was kind of sketchy at first. I would have expected top-notch service at a restaurant in the Washington Athletic Club.
