Really enjoyed the haircut, Tracy is friendly and easy to talk to! She took her time and explained the process, while still giving a very fashionable cut! Will be returning as soon as my hair grows itself out again, wish it could be sooner!

This is my must-​visit salon whenever I’m back in town. Haircut is pretty cheap comparing to others around there. 25 bucks for men and around 35 – 40 for women. And I always get my hairstyles matching with my outfits. Awesome!!! The hairdressers and her assistant are super nice and friendly. Whenever I get my haircut, I know I’m in good hands!!!

Horrible salon. My friend and me got our appointment at 4. We reached there by 4.10. And i waited for an hour and half. And she was super busy that she didn’t really listened what i wanted and gave a really crappy haircut. I feel like bald after getting the haircut. It is no way near what i told her. She expects to answer her question in yes or no pattern. If only she had let me talked, I would have told her to stop right away. I understand she is busy with so many customers but i just wished she listened to me by taking 5 minutes break instead of asking few questions and giving the haircut in her own way. Service could be much better.

By far the best salon on the ave. Very reasonable prices ($ 20) and high quality service and haircut. Tracy is the best! Highly recommend. Today was my first visit but I will definitely be returning.

Tracy is so awesome that it compelled me to write my first Unilocal review ever.
1) She is really good. She’s been doing this for 17 years. The first time I went in, I sat down and she asked me how often I cut my hair. I said every four weeks, and she was already on her way. She cuts so fast that it’s kind of a blur. And it turned out to be the best hair cut I’ve ever had in my life.
2) She is super nice and personable. She recognized me the second time I went in and she remembered details from our first conversation. And if any customers look hungry she’ll offer them her lunch. I’ve seen this happen multiple times.
3) Cheap! Maybe $ 2 or $ 3 more than chain studios, but the quality is easily 2x.
She puts a lot into what your hair will look like weeks/​months after the haircut. I can see why people HAVE to visit her whenever they’re in town.

I’ve been coming to Tracy’s hair studio for over a year, and she has done a consistently amazing job with haircuts, coloring, and eyebrow waxing.
She is so fun to talk to, and always has a smiley, upbeat attitude.
I highly recommend an appointment because this woman is super busy because she’s super good.
Free parking is awesome. Cash only. Prices are extremely reasonable for the quality she delivers. It’s around $ 40 for a women’s haircut (not sure if it’s based on length, but I have very long, layered hair) and $ 20 for men.

She’s a little quirky being cash-​only, with no real online presence and a phone that’s hard to reach, but I’ve gotten two of my best haircuts ever here. Great for guys who want good looking hair they don’t have to style very much. I’m very indifferent towards my hair in general, but I leave looking pretty sharp and for only $ 20 cash + tip (A great price for the area considering Rudy’s starts @ $ 29). Pretty good at picking out styles for guys who don’t really know what they want, also. Takes appointments, but I’ve yet to successfully set one up. Walk-​ins work fine, but sometimes her hours aren’t exactly as posted here (It’s just her working there, after all)

I visited Tracy’s salon for the first time today for a simple haircut. I had made an appointment, but she told one of the walk ins that she would finish my haircut quickly so she could squeeze him in between me and her next appointment (scheduled for just 15 minutes later than I was).
She didn’t sweep the hair on the floor from the previous customer, and she didn’t clean her clippers from his hair before using them on me.
When I tried explaining to her what I wanted done to my hair, she told me that she would do what she thought looked good (we ended up with the haircut that I usually get). Her attention to detail was poor in some areas.
However, the overall shape was right, and the price was fair. I doubt I’ll come back.

I spend $ 45 on a medium length hair cut for woman, which is a little bit pricy than I expected. I would say if you love a lot of layer, Tracy is the one to go for. But I’m not a big fun of layered hair, and she cut my hair in very uneven layers. It looks fine when she straighten it up in the salon, but my hair looks awful after I go home and wash it the next day. Now I need to wait for it to grow back.

I have thick hair that that can be difficult to cut and style so up until now, I’ve been paying $ 30 — $ 40 to ensure I get a good haircut. I had a feeling that I should be able to find someone who could do a decent job for less money so I went on Unilocal and found Tracy’s Hair Studio. She asked me where I had it cut previously, what I liked and didn’t like about it, and how long it’s been since my last cut. Then she said, «Ok, got it.» Let me tell you, Tracy is the Benihana chef of the hair world. As she started cutting and her hands became a blur, I thought to myself, either this girl really knows what she’s doing or this is going to be one bad day. Thirty minutes later, I can say it was as good or better than haircuts costing twice as much. $ 20 + tip = 1 happy customer.
She takes drop-​ins but beware, I think she said she’s been in business there 17 years and it appears that she’s developed quite a good reputation with repeat customers so you may have a long wait if you don’t make an appointment first. It’s in an area of the U-​District that usually had adequate street parking within a block of the studio if you’re driving.

I had a haircut here with Hanna. She did a great job, layering precisely with scissors and not using the razor shortcut, which never works with my hair type. It was not the fastest, but I was happy with the quality.
The salon was supposed to be closed the day I had an appointment (Labor Day), but I appreciate they kept the appointment anyway. A great place to get a good, affordable haircut.

Unilocal gave a great reason to Give Tracy’s A Try.
While in Seattle visiting, I decided that I should get a hair makeover of sorts. I am limited by walking, and lack and general knowledge I am staying in. I, of course, went to the internet, and read the reviews on Unilocal.
The salon was an easy walk from my addy here. It was also easy to find. The Salon is a smaller salon, and is well decorated in a classic style that has modern elements. It is clean and well laid out.
The guy that was in some of the previous reviews was not there.
I gave the hair dresser a challenge to lift some of the red out of my hair to a very light blonde, give me a new haircut that will allow my layers to go to a bob eventually. The bleaching too a while, but the results are fabulous! Tracy is wonderful! She talked with me, listened to what I wanted, and gave me a great haircut. She told me how to maintain my color (I am from Alaska, and will need to color my own hair between visits to Seattle), and how to style. I asked for a «Wash & go» cut, which is exactly what I wanted, but she went the extra mile, and gave me a look that is fresh, a little spunky and free spirited, and hair that moves and begs to be touched.
Kudos also for the price!

I’ve had haircuts here by both Tracy and the other guy, and it came out fine both times. It’s much more consistent than other places. If they feel that your hair needs a wash first, they’ll do it for free!
Bonus for socially awkward people: they won’t pester you with questions if you don’t feel like talking.

I read the positive reviews and was excited. Tracy had to leave, so the guy that was there cut my hair.
It looks TERRIBLE and I have a job interview tomorrow. I seriously question whether this guy has a valid license. DO NOT let him touch your hair! I CAN’T BELIEVE I PAID MONEY TO LOOK THIS BAD. I had to go home and try to fix it with my girlfriend. Haircuts are supposed to make you feel good and confident. I wish I could wear a hat to my job interview. The haircut was $ 20, not $ 15, and he didn’t even wash my hair or style it. What a disappointment!

I usually go here when I need my brows done on short notice, and they always get me squeezed in within 15 minutes or so, even if I just drop in from off the street. The pricing is reasonable and Tracy always takes her time to make sure that your brows are shaped properly, instead of totally butchering them or making them too thin or short. They never look «funny» afterward.
Loses a star because the last time I went, they were closed, and it seemed like it should have been normal business hours. Almost 10:00 in the morning on a Monday? Come on, Tracy, open just a little bit earlier.

When in on a whim…
Came out with a good cut. The price is reasonable, $ 20. They prefer cash but do take credit cards.
Used to be Rudy client but the lack of customer service drove me away, then I went to Rooselevelt barbers, but the guy I got just sucked so tried out Tracy’s with good results.
I received a cut from «the guy» and not Tracy but thought my hair came out just fine. Über accommodating since I just walked right in without an appointment. I’d go in again and would recommend others to try it out.

If you live in the U-​District, go to UW, or need a professional stylist who actually cares about you, this is the place. $ 15 for men haircuts… best price on the ave. Women haircuts are $ 40 and they are phenomenal.
She is currently remodeling the place, and so far it is looking great.
While you wait, there is a 52″ LCD with DISH Network connected. You can watch all the HBO, Starz, ESPN, etc. while you wait.
When I graduated from school I moved to the East Coast. I still fly out for Husky games and visit old friends, and still get my haircut from her every time I come here. There is no stylist that is this good for the price. I have been to worse stylists who charge me $ 50+ for a men’s haircut!
Bottom Line: If you need a haircut that is extremely stylish, come here and never go back.

Tracy is a great stylist, but that’s about as much as I can write in favor of this place. Business ethics are low and sinking.
She since hired this guy who really lacks some significant styling skills. He over relies on electric razors which give very untextured, ugly cuts. He’s consistently too heavy in the front, but neglects using thinning shears. It’s the attention to detail that makes a stylist good, confidence, and quick execution. He doesn’t have it.
Last time I came in and this guy sat me down on a filthy chair with hair all over the floor, on the counter, and even in the seat itself. Note well, this is how you can get lice. He used a towel to wipe hair off my shoulder after the cut and put it back on the pile of (what I thought were) clean towels. This is totally unacceptable health code violation.
So why slam Tracy for this? I’ve repeatedly tried to book around this guy and she flakes on me. I tip her well when she cuts, but she prefers female clients since women’s cuts start at $ 40 usually. She doesn’t care about you so if that matters, seek a stylist elsewhere!

I hate getting my hair cut. I just want it to be simple, easy and fast, but for whatever reason most places can’t do that or I wind up not liking the way I look. It took me 3 or 4 places in Seattle before I found Tracy’s, and now this is the only place I go. It’s always fast, always easy, I always look nice when I’m done and it’s $ 15.
This place is odd because it seems to be one of the few places that legitimately caters to both men and women’s hair cuts. My wife has had her eyebrows done here a few times and her bangs trimmed here once and has always been satisfied.
Tracy is great, she’ll get to know you and she’s just good people all around. This place is an absolute gem and I’d recommend it to anyone.
