I have been training here since 2009. No where else I have I encountered the depth and range of experience that the instructors at Two Cranes Aikido bring to the mat. This is a fantastic t place for kids and teenagers to explore the practice of Aikido and for both beginning and experienced adults to find excellent instruction and talented training partners.

I have had a chance to train many times over the past 5 years with Sensei Kimberly Richardson and everytime I am just blown away by her talent as an aikido’ka and a fantastic instructor. I wish I lived closer to Seattle and could take advantage of learning from her. I highly recommend anyone in the Seattle area to head down and get taught by her. I plan on heading to Seattle from Northern California sometime soon so I can learn more from her.

I just returned from a weeklong Aikido Summer Retreat in California that was attended by Aikido teachers from all over the United States. One of the main instructors at the camp this year was Kimberly Richardson, the chief instructor at Two Cranes Aikido. Her amazing skill, depth of knowledge, and inspirational teaching style impressed everyone at the camp! I have trained in martial arts for over 40 years, and I have been a teacher for over 30 years. It takes a lot to impress me. Kimberly Richardson certainly did! If I lived in Seattle I would definitely be training at Two Cranes Aikido, and I cannot recommend them highly enough! — Alan Best, Chief Instructor, Best Martial Arts Institute, Eugene, Oregon

I love Two Cranes! I go here a lot, and all of the Senseis are kind and nice. They treat everyone fairly, and for kids they have games that let them learn Aikido. Two Cranes is a hidden gem. They also have nights for kids like a magic show put on by one of the Senseis. They have camping trips(one of which I attended). I would truly advise you to go to Two Cranes. Aikido is a Japanese Martial Art. It was founded in 1942 by a man named Morihei Ueshiba. O Sensei changed some of the techniques to make Aikido safer(Ai = love, Ki = energy, Do = path or way). O Sensei was born in 1883. In 1902, when he was only 19, he married a woman named Hatsu. He died in 1969.
