Seriously? 20% mandatory tips! The waiter explained that customers stopped tipping when the minimal wage went up to $ 15(a 50% hike). He said that after all the deductions, he takes home not enough money. Hence the mandatory 20% tips. I can give more if I wish. So, the same foods, same services, same ambient, and I get not choice in tipping now. Guess the«extra gratuity» is zero.

The service was terrible until right about the time he brought the check. He was rude and acted put out to help us. My friend had to wait over 15 mins with an empty drink until I asked the hostess to have our server return. When he did, he checked on all the tables around us first. We asked for more water, again he walked past us helping others first. And no, he wasn’t slammed. My eggs were under cooked, the white was still runny. I was afraid to send them back. We were really hoping for a pleasurable experience for Christmas brunch.

I enjoyed a pretty good happy hour here. I don’t drink so don’t take my advice for the drinks lol BUT the happy hour food menu was pretty decent. My friend and I ordered the Brisket Sliders.($ 7) These were great! The meat melted in your mouth! And perfect size for sharing at least for us girls. We also ordered the Poutine($ 11) — not the best I’ve had(aka not Montréal standard) but regardless it was still good, I mean let’s be real, it had beechers cheese curds! ;) the gravy was tasty but they didn’t put a lot but I think they should! The French fries were done well too — nice thin crispy fries as opposed to the thicker ones you usually see Dessert! We ordered two and my favorite was the Chocolate sundae– it came with this awesome hazelnut brittle and Mexican chocolate sauce(if u order this maybe ask for extra chocolate sauce cuz it was good!) we also ordered the cinnamon apple cake which was very tasty. I almost wish it were more moist but either way had a great flavor.

We seriously did not no where to have Thanksgiving dinner. I did a quick search on the internet and Urbane came up on a list of places serving dinner. We walked up to it the day before to check it out and the staff was very friendly. Place looked very hip and chic, and the menu looked delicious, so we made a reservation. Arrived at 4:30 and the place was already full. That was a good sign. Luckily they gave us a window table in the back where it was quieter. One of the nice things about Urbane was that it was casual. Thank God we weren’t surrounded by shi-shi foodies, you know the ones. Our server, Allen, was attentive, friendly, and courteous. Make sure you ask for him if you come by. We ordered drinks to start and the crab cakes which were crispy and flavorful with an apple slaw. We both ordered the turkey dinner. What I liked was that the plates came out and all the sides came in separate plates. So it felt like you were at home but you didn’t have to cook or clean-up after. The turkey was tender, the gravy… delicious…nice crispy broccoli florets, and the mac n cheese had a velvety sauce. Nice wine list that focused on Washington wineries. Granted we usually order malbecs from Argentina, the local we chose was very good. There were some nice choices for dessert and I ordered the hazelnut crème brûlée and the mini pumpkin pie, and the partner had the chocolate sundae. Very nice presentation! Again, the service was great with plates being cleared when done. I only have two minor complaints; the rolls that came out were cold; the brulee had hazelnuts on top and I thought maybe if it was infused with a little Frangelico, that would’ve been nice. This was a great spot to celebrate Thanksgiving! Thank you Urbane for making us feel at home!

Wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. They really took time and care into preparing it. The turkey was amazing, perfect really. The gravy, chive mashed potatoes, and stuffing were amazing. They gave us broccoli with slightly crisp, «burned» heads which were awesome as well. My friend hates broccoli and he loved it. The other vegetables were great too. The Mac and cheese was a little bland, but still good. Waitress was delightful. They sat us in the bar area where a football game was going on so it was loud with shouting and not really the quiet atmosphere we were looking for. The feel of the place felt like being in a hallway because it is a skinny restaurant with lots of traffic from the guests at the hotel in the same room. Will definitely go back, but probably on an off night. Great food!

I met a friend here for a quick lunch. It’s located just off of the lobby area at the Hyatt. I had the half grilled cheese with tomato and it was delicious. The tomato soup was kicked up a notch and had a drizzle of an infused oil that was green on top. The grilled cheese was cheesy, nicely toasted, and not too greasy that I was guilty to eat it but just greasy enough to be comforting. This will definitely be my first pick for anytime I go to a concert at the Paramount!

Only because there wasn’t anything lower. I usually only write good reviews, but I have to warn you… don’t expect anything from the food here. Ordered the pork belly, soup, and sausage stuffed mushrooms. The pork belly was tasteless… I mean no salt no flavor serves with the worst picked greens I have ever encountered and the spicy sweet potatoes tastes like my grandmothers closet smelled. The soup was a squash soup. To spicy for me but tolerable. The issue here was it was too much pumpkin not enough butternut squash. If you cook soup you know that isn’t good. Also needed cream and salt. That is me saying it needed salt twice. I don’t ever say that. Anyway, good drinks and attentive service gives them a star

Had an awesome time at Urbane. I had a classic egg Benedict, and it was Delicious!!! Great service & local products were used. I loved the guava+habanero hot sauce.

Came here for restaurant week and it was great. Love the atmosphere. Not empty but also not so loud you can’t talk. The food was great. Mac and cheese and kale and apple salad were our starters. Mac and cheese was creamy and filling and the kale apple salad was the perfect blend of sweet and savory. I ordered the chicken with purple potato hash as my entrée. The potato hash was great but the chicken was pretty dry. My friend got the salmon and said it was pretty good. For dessert, you have to try the marionberry sorbet. It was so good. The honey cheesecake was also great and comes with a little piece of honeycomb on the aide. Blackberry ice cream was average but still good. Overall, a solid restaurant week dinner destination.

I went in for lunch during restaurant week, and their lunch special included an entrée and dessert. The entrée included a sandwich and side option. I had the Italian sandwich(roast beef, sriracha cream cheese, picked vegetables, arugula, au jus for dipping) and my friend had the fried pork sandwich. They had a gluten free bread option, which I ordered, but it was a sliced toast-like bread, not a hoagie roll, and a hoagie roll was the bread type obviously meant for the roast beef. I had fries as a side, and they had an organic local ketchup alongside, which I actually did not like. I’m all for local vendors, but maybe there is no replacement for Heinz. The sandwich and fries were overall good, but the gluten free bread do not do justice to the sandwich ingredients or presentation. If gluten free is offered as an option, it should not be a pale substitute! Make it a true consideration with what works with the rest of the dish, if you plan to offer GF. I had a marionberry sorbet for dessert, and I loved it. For a sorbet, it was very rich and creamy, packed with berry deliciousness. I’d be happy to go back to Urbane if I knew they had some more viable and thoughtful gluten free offerings.

Popped in for happy hour on Sunday after some shopping. Well martini and blue cheese truffle popcorn? Best 10 $ I spent in Seattle all weekend. A friend got the sliders and I was very impressed. The beef was so tender. Brioche buttery, aioli flavorful. Plus it was dead so we lounged on the couches. It was a perfect end to a lovely holiday weekend.

Stopped at about 10:00 pm. Everyone was super friendly and the food was great. Meat was a little undercooked but the server, John, fixed the problem quickly. For a late night snap or a full meal with cocktail I would recommend Urbane

Swung by here because of HH and gave their food and their drinks a try. Had the Mac n Cheese, Poutine Fries, and my friend got the calamari. I’m not a big fan of calamari and I tried it, but it wasn’t impressive or amazing. The Mac N Cheese was good, but not amazing and after a while it did get a little bland. The poutine fries were good initially, but then I think it got too salty as I ate more. However, this is a pretty upscale place so it’s nice to just chill here and grab a drink to shoot the breeze with a friend, especially during happy hour. Wines and martinis were $ 6, with the sparkling costing $ 7.

Came here for Sunday brunch and was very pleased. We were seated right away at a table with a lively window view and, unlike a different review, I found our waitress to be friendly and informative. I ordered the egg scramble and it was customized for my pesky gluten allergy(I was assured they used a different pan and utensils and toasted the Gf bread in a separate toaster. Thank you!) The tomato Chipotle gets its own honorable mention… Tangy and a little spicy. Move over ketsup! My son ordered the brioche French toast. He’s a picky eater, so I must tip my hat that he asked for a to-go container for the half he could not finish. The farm to table freshness stood out. It was a little pricey at $ 42 for two people, but I don’t mind paying good money for a good concept.

Was staying at the Hyatt Olive 8 and had a breakfast credit to this place. Usually, I’ve found that restaurants attached to hotels are pretty lackluster but this place was very very good. I had the open face breakfast sandwich(without ham) and it was out of this world good. They kindly added some tomatoes instead of the ham which is nice on their part. The potatoes that came with the sandwich were outstanding. I can honestly say it was one of the best breakfast meals that I’ve had. Absolutely recommend. I usually stay at the Grand Hyatt when in Seattle, but might just start staying here for the restaurant!

I had a late dinner here on a Saturday around 9:30PM. It was convenient since I stayed at the Hyatt at Olive 8 and many restaurants closeby were either closed or so empty, that the chef went home early. My brother and I didn’t want to eat at chain restaurants since we have those back home. We thought why not, might as well have a hot meal at Urbane. It was pretty empty around that time, besides one or two other groups. We decided to order the burger, the trio of beef brisket sliders, the mac n cheese with added lobster tail, and 2 cocktails. The burger was cooked fairly well, no complaints but nothing special either. The sliders could use a bit more flavor, maybe some sauce. I added some ketchup for extra flavor. The mac n cheese was hot and did the job, although the added lobster piece was only the size of a thumb, maybe smaller. We decided on the mac n cheese because we tried the mac n cheese at Beecher’s and thought it was nothing special. We gave this one a try since it has Beecher’s cheese. Urbane’s was better, but probably because it was hot and fresh. The two cocktails(Habba Habba and something Totti) were enjoyable. Overall, the food was okay. It did the job but cost us $ 80 total, quite pricey. It’s convenient and has a nice atmosphere, but it’s a once in a lifetime experience.

I want to give this place 3.5 stars Came here last night with my sis after watching a show. Never had happy hour so we have that a try and the wonderful red wine hog shank that I loved so much previously HH olives– cured very well, enjoyed the mix though some lemon zest would have made it superb HH popcorn– a little soggy, but the flavors were wonderful, blue cheese /truffle HH poutine– a let down. Apparently made with chicken gravy the poutine was oddly sweet form the gravy. Left a displeasing taste in my mouth and was not impressed HH stuffed mushroom– made very well, loved the sausage stuffing on top, was delicious with the olives Wild hog braised in red wine– a let down sadly :(shank was wayyyyyyyyy too salty. Although the pasta was a nice balance it just made me eat too much pasta and felt super heavy at the end :( Ambiance was good, sister enjoyed the house wine. I was let down that the hog wasn’t what I had before. I specifically wanted to take her here to try the amazingness, which was a lacking Happy hour menu was detailed and good Also did not enjoy the super loud group ruining the ambiance at the end but cest Le vie I’ll be back next time.

I came here three times in a week even though I stayed at the Hyatt Grand not the Hyatt Olive 8, the new upscale«green» hotel downtown. There is nothing about Urbane I don’t love. My boyfriend said I was cheating on Ruth Chris(the restaurant for the Grand), but this is a better breakfast/brunch menu and a more innovative menu overall. The chili is very good. The chef is friends with local who makes a very spicy guava hot sauce. The scramble with botanero cheese(cilantro-infused but less spicy than pepper jack) comes with a tomato chutney that sits for 3 – 4 hours. I went back the next day and ordered a side for my scrambled eggs. The décor is modern but not cold and the coffee is strong. The potatoes were over-spiced but not bad. I just like simpler roasted potatoes or home fries, particularly at breakfast. The Hyatt Grand is more my style, but for a «green» hotel with all the platinum certifications, this is a cool place. The spa looks great and I bought shorts and a top on clearance for just 10(75% off). This is not your average hotel restaurant. Then again, it’s not your average hotel. Full bar and lots of wines by the glass(slightly pricey compared to other lists I saw over the course of a week).

Stayed at Hyatt at Olive 8 during my recent trip to Seattle. My friends and I decided to order room service from Urbane to satisfy our late night munchies. The food smelled delicious and arrived to our room piping hot, about 15 minutes after the order was placed. Aside from the dishes ordered, we received bread rolls and water(free of charge) which were a nice addition. I ordered Poutine and Mac n’cheese — unhealthy, heavy foods that I should not be eating at midnight. Both of my dishes were filling but very bland, and not worth the price that I paid. The dinner menu is fairly small and nothing interesting had stood out to me. There are several nearby restaurants that in my opinion, are worth trying and worth the extra walking distance. When dining in, Urbane offers a beautiful ambiance and cozy atmosphere. I believe that this restaurant is known better for their breakfast menu(which I did not have a chance to try). This review is solely about the food I ordered for room service from Urbane; I recommend trying something from their breakfast menu before dismissing this restaurant completely.
