I like this place. There was a diverse crowd, and it was sorta packed. The only thing is that drinks are a bit more than other bars/lounges/clubs… so be aware. Otherwise, good music, nice people, fast service. I love how many bars there are. Right when you enter, there’s bar to the left, then they have little mini stages, and areas where people can step up and dance sort-of on poles. Then there’s a bar by the right end of the lounge. I think the music is good and the people are nice. Seen someone I didn’t want to see, but also seen some that I did :)

I’ve known this place since it used to be called Medusa. Great atmosphere. Ever since it was redone some years ago, and they opened up the inside more, it definitely was promoted a few spaces on my list of favorite venues. The owner, David, is a cool guy. The staff are fun and bartenders are knowledgable — they don’t even keep drink recipe books! Music is loud and ladies are always hot. And if not, just gawk at the Gogo dancers.

Four stars because I love the staff and management, the special events and the DJ on Saturday nights. They hire the best bartenders in the industry.(Ask Alfie – the Filipino at the middle bar – to do a trick for you.) It’s hard to describe the crowd because it all depends on the promoter. Currently, Saturdays is a black crowd… so, I’m thinking that Fridays are filled with Asians – short Asians – and college kids… Asian college kids. This was the case a month ago, I doubt it’s changed. I suggest you find out who promotes that night and get on the V.I.P. list, which usually closes at 11pm. The best part is that Venom is still one of the clubs that allow girls(and ONLY girls) to dance on the platform-stage thingy – if the go-go dancers aren’t up there. If you like nightlife, I suggest you like ‘em on Facebook for updates on special events. Good for Dates? Hell no. Good for Girls’ Nights? Hell yes.

My favorite spot! I used to go here 3 days a week in my younger days :) The dance floor is a good size and 3 bars makes it easy to get a drink. If you want to go all out, there are VIP booths in the front area or VIP room in the back. Bartender Lala is the best! Friendly owners and staff. Great music and always good events here. They usually fave famous DJ’s or celebrities. Check their website for the latest. Wanna try something different, try the D-list events. They are usually held on Thursdays and very crowded so don’t go if a lot of people/lines will bother you.

Its a club, they play good music. Asians everywhere. The bar is pretty standard, 10 bucks per shot for top shelf drinks. It can get pretty crowded in here after 11pm, but if you’re out clubbing, you would already know that.

While waiting to get in i saw some shmuck get pummelled and pepper foamed. Good times. the people watching at places like this is amazing. you can see pretty much all kinds of behavior. it reminds me of the one mall scene in ‘Mean Girls’ where the Lindsay Lohan character imagines that all her high school classmates are just a bunch of different wild animals of the african plains where she grew up. As of this writing she needs to get some jail time, btw.

I’m a happy clubber: as long as there’s top-40 music, a packed dance floor with dressy people, a couple of close friends, and somewhere to buy a drink, I’d be perfectly happy. On multiple visit, Venom had made me happy:) A few quirks about this place: — There’re always a few dancers on the stage. — I heard people have gotten shot :-\

Exaclty — Meh, I’ve experienced better. I’ve only been here a couple of times. I try to stay away but I’ve been here for several birthday parties. And this place never fails to disgust me. The drinks are alright. The place looks pretty trashy and pathetic. They even have a corner dedicated to picture taking?! I’m not even sure what that’s even about because it reminds me of a high school dance. Also, this place is filled with i-just-turned-21-years-old so I’m basically wearing nothing and I’m drunk as fuck. Girls are fighting over to dance on the podium. I was in the VIP Room? Ugh, seriously? That’s what you call a VIP room? It’s even more disgusting than the regular dance floor. Last time I went, the bouncers were rude as hell to guys. I know it’s a given at bars/clubs. But seriously?! They made sure all the«single» ladies went inside before the guys. Although, one time I was freezing my ass off waiting for my friend to meet up with me. The bouncer saw me and let me and my friend in. But never again. I wouldn’t ever dare to walk into this shitty place, again.

Meh, I’ve experienced better. I think it just depends on the event and people. I popped in here with some friends last night and it was not cracking… at all. Barely any people were there, but of course with the help of a few shots or 6(haha) you can make it an enjoyable time. But without a crowd or lots of your friends, it can get boring real fast. I like the laser lights and the many booths. Definitely a plus when having a party here. Drinks were alright as well. $ 5 for crown, henny, and free cover before 1130. Music was a plus… hit jams and old skool to get the mood going… Parking sucks as usual. Nowhere to park!!!

I don’t frequent this place… Ive gone only for a handful of reasons. Mostly just with girlfriends for Golden Ticket parties… however, we attended Venom this past Saturday. and let me tell you, the single experience had detoured me from every attending there again. first off, i had a birthday party we were having there, emailed 2 days before hand to get on the list… and we weren’t on the list. awesome. the night passes and we are all having a grand time… even though it was pretty much empty The bday girl and her boyfriend were in line for the restroom and asked to leave… cause they were to drunk so as they were leaving(peacefully) the bouncer pushes the bday girl down and breaks her boyfriends nose as they jump him. ITSASSAULT. Do not go to Venom. The drunks are overpriced. The Bouncers are just big bullies on a power trip and will jump you for no reason instead of just having you leave peacefully. such BS

«We’re beatin-up-the-beat!» This place is about as close as it gets to the Jersey Shore here in the Pacific Northwest. At least the Asian version. For some reason all my friends bash on this place but somehow we keep coming back, like a moths to a flame. Everyone knows what they’re getting into when they come here: Asian people, douche bags wearing sunglasses and striped shirts, expensive drinks, and mostly likely a fight will breakout inside or outside the club. But every weekend it’s still packed wall to wall. One of the most memorable stories I have from this place was from my friends birthday party a couple years ago. We had rented out the lounge area and were doing shots of whatever. Well one round came and we took the shots. Of all the people to take this shot it was the birthday boy that took it. There was a BANDAIDINHISSHOT!!! Easily one of the grossest things I have ever seen. He was a good sport about it though and the waitress offered us those shots and more on house. We still joke about it from time to time though. «Can we get 6 shots of Goose, hold the band aid».

Walking into a club is something that even the people who realize how often I go out would not expect me to do… ever. Perhaps I was a baby seal in a past life. In reality, it happens about once a year due to extenuating social circumstances, like a friend’s birthday wishes. The appointed gyration hour of 2010 drew near and has now passed. So, I occasionally end up at a place like Venom, nestled in Belltown with the requisite line semantics, a list longer than an emo teen’s LiveJournal postings(leading me to question who actually pays cover), music too loud to have a conversation, a few reserved tables and«VIP» areas, and weapons detection procedures that all but define any semi-upscale legitimate heteronormative dancing establishment. Checking all lofty expectations at the door(since I had nothing else to check), I still proceeded to expect at least moderate disappointment and my expectations were pleasantly not met. If one does not arrive early enough to take advantage of the $ 2 wells, drink elsewhere before arrival unless one is prepared to pay the Belltown premium. Beyond that, for the sole purpose of dancing, it was actually quite amenable in here, with a manageable crowd and the go-go dancers largely serving as background white noise to the music. Granted, it might have been an «off» night, and I was neither looking to pick up anyone from the largely Asian crowd nor am I in the demographic target of the probable most aggressive elements, but our group was left alone to dance to typical remastered hip-hop and no one assaulted me over my disgraceful implementation of the craft. So I’ll admit it. I had an energizing, low pressure time at Venom in a loosely knit celebration group. Surprises still happen, even(perhaps especially?) in Belltown.

Music: 3 Setting: 4 People: 3 Drinks/Prices: 2 With the demise of Pur, I think Venom is now the club that is closest to a strip club(yup, there are gogo dancers on stages there). The lounge area is reserved seating. The dance floor is just one big room. The music is typically okay: hip hop mostly. The people are okay, your usual Belltown dressy clubby types. Of course they rob you on the drinks. What can I say… it’s hard to get excited about this place. I’m not a fan of Venom.

Been here a couple times and Venom never fails to attract a large crowd of writhing, skimpily dressed girls and sleazy guys(ranging from really short dudes who try to grind up on you and take you by surprise to big, tall dudes who bop their heads awkwardly). Venom’s klassy-with-a-k, down to the nearly naked go-go-dancers who sway their glittery bodies on platforms, tables, and bars. But I love coming here anyways because the DJ’s are always spinning pretty danceable tracks(even if there are a few too many Top 40’s on there), which means the people are always dancing. The drinks are strong(sometimes too strong!) and I’ve never had to pay cover so Venom’s good in my book. Last night, the DJ seemed to have been struck by a lightning bolt of inspiration from DJ Girl Talk, which was DANCEHEAVEN. A word to the wise who do not wish to grind: after midnight, all the creepers who had previously been plastered against the wall down a couple shots of liquid courage and all of a sudden think that they are hawt enough to mash their bodies up against yours. I have found that dancing vigorously and surreptitiously elbowing them as they try to sneak up behind you is usually sufficient to scare said creepers away. I got here around 11:30, when the dance floor was only filled with a couple groups of girls dancing and guys standing along the wall with their drinks. Time passed really quickly and we danced danced danced the night away and before I knew it, two hours had passed and Venom was JAMPACKED. I felt like the Hulk as I led my friends through a sweaty human wall of gyrating, drunk people. All in all, good times to be had.

I had the distinct pleasure of half my party being kept out of the VIP room until some proof could be presented that they belonged in there. This included our birthday boy. Now, most people would bitch and complain. «Stupid mean old bouncers ruined our party,» and other such nonsense. Fortunately I’m not most people. VIP rooms are reserved and coveted for a reason. Exclusivity, that«I’m important – I’m a roller» feeling that 99% of us only get to feel when it’s our birthday, wedding, or funeral. To have the bouncers take this seriously and restrict access meant they take their club seriously. We got our people in eventually, no problem. We also knew that everyone else there was supposed to be there. The club itself was like any other club in SEA – dancing, drinking, drama. Half the people enjoying themselves, the other whining about the people enjoying themselves and how much better club x, y, or z is. The grass is always greener when you’re far sighted. Or stuck outside of the VIP area wishing to get in.

I always hear about the shady comments about Venom but it’s not THAT bad I guess. The music was pretty good for the most part and we got in before 11 p.m. and they had $ 2 well drink specials! That was awesome. But after 11, everything was ridiculously expensive. I think I spent about $ 30 that night buying other people drinks. A jaeger bomb was like $ 8 and some other cocktail shot was another $ 8. Goodness. We stayed until the very end so that was cool, saw some random couples making out on the couches, not very cool. Pretty disturbing actually. But the security guard inside told them to stop, thank you sir. PDA is NOT cool. But oh yeah, come to think of it, guys that go to Venom are so sketchy. They just try to dance up on you and it’s just nasty, like go away PLEASE.

Hey this place was pretty dope. Kinda small but it was koo. First time visiting Seatle(since the age of 4y/o) from Los Angeles, and I had a great time. Too bad I lost my ID but was able to retrieve it from the same club the day of my flight. Thought it was kinda cute since I was with a few friends, some random guy came up to me and says I’m his furture wife. hahahah Nice *pick up line*. I thought it’d be crazy packed, especially with parking. I guess I am used to high traffic areas of downtown SF and LA. For real, Venom was pretty dope.
