I went in to Dr. Kegel to address gum recession; I was terrified and was sure he downplayed the pain factor during our first meeting, and played up his charm, his interestingness, and just plain crazy pleasantness to talk to just to get me in the chair for the procedure. He said the procedure would take 30 minutes. I thought he was nuts — I’ve had nail appointments that took longer than that. So I show up really nervous. I climb into the chair of pain and close my eyes. It’s kind of sad but I’ve never had a better shot of novocaine in my life — barely felt it (it’s all in the jiggling). He chats periodically, keeps me updated on his progress and I open up my eyes when he says it’s all over. It’s 28 minutes later and I felt zero pain. Two years later (now), it’s a fantastic job. I had no complications, no insane restrictions (a prior periodontist who shall go unnamed at 720 Olive told me I couldn’t eat certain foods [regular ones] for 10 days afterwards!), and no gum recession. I can’t recommend Dr. Kegel highly enough. I wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else for periodontal needs (but really hope I don’t have any more for some time).

Dr. Kegel is great, he’s a gentleman with great chair-​side manner and gentle hands. If you need crown lengthening or any periodontal needs, he’s awesome. Thanks Doc!
