So what’s going on with this place and why is Groupon currently offering a deal as of today?

I live near this place and walk behind it everyday. I heard that it has closed and I hope it has. The place is disgusting. The back of the restaurant is filled with trash and garbage. In fact, today, that part of the alley was filled with spilled used grease, which I suspect came from this place. It was an eyesore and a health hazard waiting to happen. I can’t believe that the Health Department itself hadn’t closed it by now. I hope it never reopens. It was a scar on the neighborhood.

We come here often! Darts, ping-pong, pool, pin-ball. What more could you ask for?! Being local we have built a friendship with the bartenders and servers and they are very kind and are dedicated to their job. We always bring our friends here for a good time! Being a new bar in the junction, there will be many opinions but for us we love coming here :)

I am OK with ordering at the bar. I am OK with average service. As a business that is trying to make it work on the«doomed» corner, I cannot understand what seems to be a complete lack of care for the experience that their customers have here. The women’s bathroom is disgusting… reminiscent of a frat house(dirty, door with no latch, etc). I am a grown adult and would like to order whatever the hell drink I choose, without negative comment from whomever is pouring. Being here for a Seahawks game was fine… plenty of tables before-hand, but we had to clear our own table of used drink glasses, as the server/owners/whomever chose to sit and eat with their buddies instead of making a sweep through the bar 2.5 hours after we arrived to clear the 15 or so glasses our party was done with. I’ve tried to support this place as I love a good sports bar, but I will hesitate to come back after this experience.

Reading some of these reviews, it makes me sad that people don’t give new businesses a few chances. Yes, you order at the bar. It’s not a big deal. Since I started coming here they’ve added on another bartender who helps when it’s busy. I’ve never had any issue with service, whether it be ordering food or getting a drink(do yourself a favor and get the fried pickles!). I come here every week for trivia and it’s a ton of fun. My only suggestions are that they list the prices of their pints/pitchers, list their happy hour prices, and scale down their menu. If you’re not going to have table service I think it makes sense to not have such an expansive menu.

The Beastmode Burger was amazing, perfectly cooked and bacon was smoked Nicely too. everything about the burger was good. Tater tots… Oh for the sweet love of their Tater Tots! So good you don’t even have to dip them in anything! Service on the other hand was lacking… She did her best I think… She was the only one there to my knowledge taking care of the entire place. I asked for another beer– she forgot– and came back by to see if I wanted another beer again. When I was ready for the check… She was sitting at the bar with her friend.

Gave this place a shot, not enough staff, signs everywhere that say to order from the bar and you get ignored when trying to do so. Bathrooms were filthy, in fact I’ve seen cleaner honey buckets. Atmosphere is dull… And is basically the old Irish bar that went bust with tv’s and a ping pong table. As someone who’s been in the restaurant management business for 18 years… It’s a shame, it’s in a great area and has possibilities, just no vision or leadership.

Good food and beer, but they need to hire servers! The space is too big for the bartenders to hear a bell ringing in the kitchen 50 ft away

Okay let me break this down Bartenders — friendly and quick getting you a drink *** Cooks — AMAZING! Great creations and great taste! It’s the perfect food for when you want to get a good buzz and slam it home with some candied bacon on your burger! SOOOGOOD. 5 stars***** So why the 3 stars? No wait staff! There is a clear disconnect between the front and back of the place! I watched the cook ring the bell about 8 times for the bartender to come get the food and it just didn’t happen. FINALLY, we went and got the food ourselves and thank God! It was still warm and tasted amazing! Great burger! Just fix the communication issues… A new system or HIREWAITSTAFF

I’ve been here a few times now and it just keeps going down hill. They rarely have enough servers, usually just the bartender and the place is way to big for that. Service is so slow its not worth it. Just go to The Bridge.

Butt-Rockers’ Cove!!! This is a welcome addition to the Junction for a couple reasons: 1. Sports bar IN the Junction I know Westy is «cool» and The Bridge is a good spot, but neither are in the Junction. 2. NHL I can’t tell you how happy I am to have a hockey friendly bar in West Seattle. Again, Westy shows hockey, but I don’t recall having the sound or being able to get a seat. The BRC is so big it’s really easy to watch a game. Also, it’s a Blackhawks bar first and foremost… as it should be ;) 3. Metal I’m not a big fan of metal music, but I love the juxtaposition of metal being played at a sports bar, and West Side Public House provides just that. Which is why henceforth it shall be known as Butt-Rockers’ Cove. My only complaint, would be the less than pristine bathrooms. Clean that shizz up yo!

Great place for Sunday funday! Real darts, ping pong, pool(which is under the ping pong table), a pinball room in the back, and a free poker league that plays on Sunday nights at 4:30. Great selection of beers on tap, and pretty affordable pitcher prices as well(e.g. large pitcher of Georgetown Porter for about $ 16), though non-crafts were even cheaper. Can’t speak to the food, but the portions looked to be pretty good-sized.

I was not a fan of this place at first but it has grown on me. The beers are still on the pricey end and the food is just alright, but the atmosphere seems to have improved quite a bit. Maybe it just needed the time to attract a more decent crowd. I’ll probably be going here often from now on.

This place has a very interesting atmosphere that I want to be exposed to more often! All the wood is dark stained and there are plenty of table of chairs(like a restaurant, except no waitress/waiter). They have pin ball and pool table. On a Friday evening they go through an interesting crowd 5 – 7 over 40s and quiet, then 8 – 10 under 40s and drunk! The beast mode burger was very delicious and they have three cider options for the masses(currently: Angry orchard original, ace pumpkin cider, and 2towns ginja ninja). The fried pickles are different from what I have had. Very sweet and not really salty in any way. Kind of pricey but a nice change of climate from Bang Bar and Elliott Bay next door. Definitely on the list for California Ave pub crawls!

My new favorite bar in West Seattle to watch the game! Went here to watch the Seahawks playoff games the last few weeks and have had a blast. The atmosphere is great. They haven’t crammed a million tables in the bar so it doesn’t feel too crowded and makes getting drinks from the bar pretty easy. They have darts, big buck hunt, and pool/ping pong, always a good time. The food is awesome! I’ve tried a handfull of things from the menu and haven’t been disappointed yet. But my fav by far… the Chili Mac & Cheese. I’m not ashamed to say I ordered it twice in one day while we were camped out for the game. Last time I was in, spoke to the owner and he was proactively asking ways to improve the bar based on reviews they had recieved so far, as well as food critiques. They have their heads in the right place and look forward to see how they continue to enhance it! I would agree with other reviewers that staffing seems to be an issue at times, but I would anticpate they’ll work through these kinks as they’re open longer.

Sorry guys, I came here twice and it was the same show: Not enough staff. Out of Tanquery, out of Grey Goose. Out of Rumplemintz and dirty bathrooms, bud said?

Excellent burgers & sandwiches, menu is typical pub fare, but done well, and a good selection of beer. They’re currently a little understaffed while they get up and running, but everyone is friendly & accommodating. Its a good place, off to a bit of a slow start, but it’s got potential.

Best bar I’ve been to since living in west Seattle. Great food/drink prices and the atmosphere is much better than the overcrowded bars that are on California. No screaming kids is also a plus. Beer taps are easy to see and lots of seating! Hit this place up everybody! It’s great!

Was really hoping for a winner here. Ask someone in the restaurant business, if the bathrooms aren’t clean then the rest of the house is not going to be clean. The bathrooms aren’t clean. Filth on the floor and the paper towel roll is sitting on the counter instead of in the rack. Walked up to the bar(as directed by the signage) asked what was on tap, was told I had to go look. Said didn’t have a beer list because it changed too often– LAME! TIP — Chalk and Black Board(for examples see, Elliot Bay and the Beer Junction) Okay so the silverware came out of the servers pocket The Nachos were a flat stack of chips with a real good tomatoes sauce with some heat, and Velveeta cheese. Yes its a beer and sports bar, but pay attention to the food. No severs(hence the signage to go to the bar to order). Guy behind the bar had no knowledge of what was on tap; really? Sad

West Side Public House(WSPH) just recently took over the Terrible Beauty’s space, after it was shuttered for a couple of months. I found it odd that Terrible Beauty went out of business because they always seemed to have a nice crowd, and I always found their service and food above par. As rumor has it there was some sort of rift with the ownership and the business closed. It is also my understanding that WSPH is now owned and operated by some of Terrible Beauty’s original family and/or staff. Enough of the backstory… lets talk about WSPH. We stopped in at 2:15p on the Saturday before Christmas. The West Seattle Junction was pretty hopping, so I found it a bit surprising to find only two people at the bar and one bartender/server. It was also a little off-putting to to see signs at every table that instructed patrons to place their order at the bar… just didn’t seem necessary. Then when I asked the bartender if she wanted us to sit in any particular section, she sarcastically shrugged, looked around the restaurant and said sit anywhere. Honestly, my partner and I looked at each other and could not believe the attitude considering we were now only the 3rd and 4th customers in the entire restaurant. The bartender did come to our table promptly, and when we asked for a menu with their beer selection she said their choices changed to frequently to make menus an option.(Yes, you did just read that correctly.) After a comment like that I turned a bit sarcastic and asked if we should just walk over to the bar and look at their taps… at that point she did catch herself, but my partner and I decided a Stella in the bottle would probably be the easiest choice. Beers arrived cold and promptly. While reviewing the menu we order their crispy fried okra, a guilty pleasure when I can find it. Menu options included typical pub food… burgers, sandwiches a few larger plates along with an assortment of sides, including, fries, wings, nachos, etc. They also have Frito Pie, which is a trailer park comfort food that I love, but I decided to try that another time. I chose the BLT with a side of Pea Salad, and my partner chose the Buffalo meat burger. Our order was placed and delivered in a reasonable amount of time, and by now our bartender/server was showing improved signs of good customer service. She checked on us often and showed genuine pride knowing that we were happy with the food. One thing to keep in mind when ordering is that all of the sandwiches and burgers come solo with no side… our server pointed this out, and said it was because the portion sizes were so large. When our food came we understood why sides were an option… both sandwiches were extremely big. The burger is a ½ pounder and the BLT must of had six slices of very thick lean bacon. Buns were buttered and toasted just the way I like them, and the sandwiches both had an interesting garlic and mayo aioli. We were both very happy with the food. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the crispy fried okra was fantastic. In fact I think its good enough to go out of your way for. Don’t waste your time with the pea salad. The décor is basically the same as it was with the Terrible Beauty. Large built in bar with dark wood. There is ample seating at the bar as well as 8 — 10 four-top booths, and there is no shortage of TV’s all of which played various college and pro football games from around the county. A pool table and a couple of dart boards round out the sports bar vibe. I’m happy to say that during the 45 minutes we spent having lunch, at least eight other people came in for beers and food. This particular corner of the junction has had a string of failed restaurants. I gave WSPH3 stars because as a true West Seattleite I want them to succeed. We were impressed enough with their food that we’ll be back. We’ll also give them the benefit of doubt that their customer service will improve once they work out the bugs of running a new restaurant. WSPH has a full bar with cocktails and 30+ beers on tap as well as the standard bottled and canned varieties. Kids are not allowed and you must be 21 for service.
