I found this place after checking out some cars across the street. Nice, man! Especially today, I thought ‘man, i made the long drive up here, it’s freakin’ hot out, i have a headache… get something in here.’ So i go in and get a Pear Smoothie and Veggie Panini. Mmm… Goood. The gals were pretty friendly. Food/Smoothie was good. Nice and cool inside compared to the furnace outside. Nice earthy, dark tone interior and stuff. lol. Especially because dark colors help give a sense of cool temps. I left… satisfied. Next time u feelin’ the heat, hop in here like I did. :D

Hmm… espresso AND wine? I discovered this place at 815am while waiting for my car to be done and I have to say I was mighty tempted to buy me some wine this morning, but then I remembered that I have to be somewhat normal and presentable at a meeting today, so out went that idea… The coffee here was ok, a bit bitter for my liking, but ok if you’re in the area and you want a quick cup. It’s the place itself that I liked — the ambiance and the fact that there wasn’t any emo, grunge, or crappy jazz music playing while I was there. I will def come back here again… and try out the wine portion of this place.

Just discovered this cute little spot on Roosevelt on my way to Yoga. They’ve been here for over 3 years, but I just noticed them now. Actually, I think it was the sign that said, «Wine Tasting Tonight» that drew me in. I wonder why. Anyway, I was good, went to Yoga and then prompty turned around and headed back to the wine café. It’s actually a nice little café serving panini style sandwiches, pastries and espresso as well as wine. Ross, the wine buyer, is a friendly guy. He said he was trying to set-up a regular wine tasting schedule. For now, they have wine tastings on Wednesdays or Thursdays. Sounded like he has a fun program planned for December. The wine selection is great for the budget conscious with most wines ranging from the $ 10-$ 15 range. The décor is pleasing with earthtone colors with solid wood furnishings: tables, chairs and benches. I saw a number of people with laptops open and there is WiFi available. Some local art/photography hangs on the walls which I assume rotates on regular basis. The owner said he usually has live music on Fri/Sat nights. Sounds cool. I’ll have to go back and check it out sometime.

When I’m barely awake and making my way to the bus to work, this is a great place to get caffeinated. I can always count on the baristas for some friendly chit chat and they make my Americano just right. They also have a good punch-card deal, which makes being a regular more than worth it. In the evenings, I’ve stopped by to enjoy a glass of wine at happy hour. World Cup has a good selection of wine by the glass, or you can stop by to pick up a bottle from an even larger selection that covers a whole wall.

Good food, friendly service, well-made drinks, pleasant atmosphere if you have time to linger. But they charge $ 0.50 extra if you want your chai to be Morning Glory instead of plain old Oregon. Which is probably because it costs them more, but still. Of course, that didn’t keep me from going there four times this week. Oops.

Remarkably civilized and very pleasant. Interesting food items, and the bonus is that they make excellent sandwiches to order. Hope it lasts. UPDATE: ***CLOSED*** nope it didn’t last.

Thank goodness! This neighborhood really needed a café, and it got a fabulous one. Delicious sandwiches, a few salads, yummy pastries, and great coffee(very robust… I ask for only ½ shot in my latte). They also have great deals on wine… go figure. Staff is really nice.

Coffee, pastries and a wine bar. Free Wi-Fi but I’m not sure about the signal strength. Nice place to linger over a cup of java or Java and listen to live music.
