Wow! I have been interested in yoga for years, and taking semi-regular classes for about three years now, but I never felt a serious connection to the modality until now! I found YogaButter! Julie is a breath of fresh air, and just so darn pleasant to work with. I went to her gorgeous studio,(in her beautiful, zen-like & enviable backyard), and was a little nervous that I wasn’t yet«ready» to take a private class. Those fears quickly dissipated when I entered the studio and heard about what our session would entail. I just love the one-on-one instruction! I really helps me feel like I’m getting the most possible out of my yoga time, whereas, before, I was feeling like I never knew if I was doing it «right». Turns out, I’m double jointed and have tendencies towards over pronating(sp?) my knees, which Julie discovered in the first ten minutes! I feel like my love for yoga has finally been justified. YogaButter rules! Thank you, Julie!

This was a very cool alternative to traditional deep tissue massage. I’ve played physical sports all my life and now in my 40’s with a couple herniated discs and a surgically repaired hip, I find I need the occasional tune-up. I was referred to Julie by my sister, whose opinion on matters of physical therapy I have grown to trust implicitly, and she was right on the money. First, how cool is it that they custom built a small yoga studio /massage space from the ground up? It’s pristine, comfortable, warm and relaxing. Talking with Julie before the massage, it was clear that she was knowledgeable and experienced, and as an added bonus, both personable and engaging. The massage itself was excellent; a really interesting and satisfying combination of deep massage and gentle but expertly applied stretches(which really were quite incredible, as they really seemed to open up my hips and lower back in ways my own stretching and exercises have never been able to). She read my body well, finding trouble spots with ease and carefully working them back into their healthy relaxed state. She communicated well, asking for feedback(which was never really needed, as she seemed perfectly in-tune with my needs), and letting me know when some small amount of interaction would be required on my part. Overall, I would highly recommend Julie and Yoga Butter. I loved the entire experience. I left in quite high spirits with my legs, hips and back feeling not just relaxed and healthy, but actually energized. I have a handful of stretches and exercises my PT’s have given me over the years that keep me on the field(soccer, 3x /week, plus 2 kids who treat me like a human jungle gym), and I think this massage is going to be the perfect complement to those efforts.
