I saw the previous review not sure what to say. I only had one tooth removed but it wasn’t an easy procedure. Dr Zech was very kind, humorous and professional during the initial consultation. I was given some medication to take the day of the surgery(pre-op) one was an antibiotic and the other was … well I can’t recall exactly what. I showed up, they got me prepped, I was given anesthesia and woke up a moment later with a numb jaw and feeling tired. I went home and took a nap. Then woke up the same day and felt like a million bucks. I had very little post-op issues(dry socket, etc). Within a week I was able to eat and participate in normal activities. I would recommend Dr. Zech.

I’ll let you be the judge if this is how you’re suppose to experience your wisdom teeth extraction… this was my first time. I showed up to his office a little early and he was 5 minutes late at 8:05(not a big deal but I noticed) The nice lady took me into the room and gave me a run down of how to care for my mouth once I left the office. Then she shoved numbing gauze in my mouth(I prefer the q-tips, but whatever) Then when my mouth was numb enough Dr. Ralph came in to give me more numbing shots, i was only expecting a few, not 8. I didn’t feel that he was being as careful with giving me the shots, each one hurt so much more than when I had them for fillings. Right as I felt my mouth and jaw feel so numb that I could barely talk Dr. Zech and the nice lady came back to start the procedure. As he warmed up with tubes and sharp things in my mouth he asked me so many questions… I thought this only happened in movies, I’m serious… I couldn’t answer him and for someone who’s been doing this a long time should know WHY. When he started cutting into my gum, I felt e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. I tried to tell him, and I started screaming but he told me that it was almost over. All I could think was that he had just STARTED. I felt him cut my gum open, jam a piece of metal and scoop the tooth to break it out of place. This was possibly the most pain I have ever felt. By the time he finished with the first tooth I was in so much shock that I didn’t even realize he was turning my head to start on the other side. The second tooth didn’t hurt as bad thanks to the stage of shock I was in caused by the first. I don’t know if the worst part of this experience was that I felt the entire thing or the fact that the string he used dragged across my face as he sewed up my extraction sites. I was out the door by 8:20. Yes, it took 15 minutes… The wounds healed quickly and were hassle free. I was fine by the next day… however I still wouldn’t go to him. No wonder people are afraid of the dentist…
