Dr. Zorn is a pioneer in knee surgeries. He did an ACL/MCL repair for me in July of ’09 and it has given me no problems at all. I have heard from numerous people about their own personal successes as well as the successes that the Physical Therapists have seen from the patients Dr Zorn has treated. I highly recommend him to all of my friends and family, and to you. Unfortunately, Dr. Zorn is retiring this year, so make your appointments soon.

As someone who has had 5 knee surgeries by 4 different physicians in different states over the last 15 years. I can highly recommend Dr. Zorn, he is a very efficient doctor and an EXCELLENT surgeon. I went to him after my 4th surgery done in Bellevue by another physician and after a year of rehab still not pleased with the way my knee felt. I walked into his office and immediately got the answers I was looking for, as well as a 5th and final surgery that has been problem free for the last 5 years. I have recommended 3 people to him that have all had positive experiences.

I went to him because of his reputation as a good knee doctor and I needed a total knee replacement(years of problems, no question that I needed it and had no other options). Yes, he does a good knee replacement, but his attitude is miserable – condescending, aloof, non-communicative, and dismissive. His idea of pain control is «it shouldn’t hurt that much» and that is the longest sentence I ever heard from him. To this day, I still don’t really know how things went, or why my post-op pain was so bad. He simply refused to answer any questions and would walk out in the middle of my asking my first question. I thought his reputation would make up for his personality, but I was wrong. There are other great knee surgeons in Seattle. I went to a different surgeon 9 months later to have my other knee replaced and the difference was astounding. I was treated as a person, my questions were answered, and the post-op pain and pain control was great – the difference in pain control was so incredible that I couldn’t believe I had had another knee replacement! The funny thing is, I’m not a whiner and I had lived with bone-on-bone knees for over 10 years… I can tolerate pain with the best. It was unforgivable that my pain was dismissed – both while I was in the hospital and afterwards. Pain in the hospital was so bad that I lay there shaking for 2 days because the prescribed meds weren’t touching it, and he refused to prescribe anything different on the basis that it couldn’t hurt that bad.

I went to see Dr. Zorn about my screwed up knee a few weeks ago. I blew out my knee in a lacrosse game and Dr. Zorn came highly recommended to me. His son and I also played lacrosse against each other in college. I will say this about his demeanor: he is matter of fact. Bedside manner doesn’t seem to be a priority of his, and that is fine with me. He is known as among the top knee doctors in the area and if I am going to have somebody cut my knee open and re-construct it, I care a lot more about his skill as a surgeon than as a conversationalist. My surgery is scheduled for May 1st. I will update this review to reflect that experience and outcome, but for now I am a fan.
