Stewart is veteran winemaker who provides an intimate tasting experience of his very elegant pinots. There are not a ton for sale but if you get on the list, you have more future options. This is for the wine lover.

I saved the best winery for last! Wow! I’m so excited we decided to visit Adrian Fog winery. What a nice experience and their Pinot Nior is delicious to say the least! Stewart, the winemaker, was very informative about their wines and was fun to listen to. It’s a private winery, by appointment only, off the beaten path, in a charming, rustic setting. I can’t wait to go back!

Holy amaze balls! What an awesome, fun, unique experience. Stewart, the owner/winemaker, gave us a private tour of his warehouse operation, and had decanted two different 2012 bottles. The second was a single vineyard, single block offering, and of course both were super flavorful and delicious. He then proceeded to let us taste a glass right from the barrel, and it was already super rich and elegant. Yum! Stewart’s descriptions and stories are worth the trip, and the chance to purchase such unique small offerings is highly recommended. Take a chance and check this incredible place out!

Delicious pinots! It’s a little tough to find the tasting room since it’s hidden around the back by the«school bus graveyard.» The winemaker and owner(Stewart) poured for our party of six and is great!

Stewart is very responsive to phone calls for tasting appointments, which is not always the norm in the winery world. Once there, you taste in a large warehouse surrounded by barrels. I personally enjoy being so close to the production. We tasted 3 or 4 pinots. They are delicious and full of fruit. We purchased a couple bottles of the less expensive Arissa Jane 2008 from Adrian Fog. After opening one of our bottles, we called Stewart up to order a case and can’t wait to enjoy it over the coming months and years!

We had an exceptional small winery experience! It was us, the pinot noir on a barrel, and the winemaker, Stewart, inside the warehouse. He enjoyed just talking with us about his wine, the region, and his personal experiences. If you want a big, fancy show, don’t go here. But if you’re looking for an intimate experience with the winemaker and some awesome pinot, this place is a must.

I went looking for a higher end, single vineyard, appointment only Pinot producer to visit the Sunday after spending Saturday in Napa. Doing a web search I came across Adrian Fog — seemed like what I was looking for. I was looking for that more intimate experience that didn’t involve having to compete for room at the bar to get a 1oz pour of Chardonnay. So I called the number on the website. Stewart, answered — I asked him if Sunday was a possibility. He said«yep, as long as I’m in town and I think I will be.» Okay cool. So other than knowing what was on the website — and that we were going to a warehouse and not some lavish tasting room we set out. We show up, sure enough he is there to meet us. Stewart Dorman, it turns out, is the owner and wine maker. So the owner and winemaker drives out from Healdsburg just to meet with us to let us taste his creation. What terrific stuff this was. He produces around 4 – 5 single vineyard Pinot Noirs ranging from Sonoma as far north as Mendocino and the Anderson Valley. They’ll only produce a few hundred cases… maybe 1,000 in total. Everything is made right there in his warehouse space. hidden among several buildings. And who is Adrian? Adrian comes from the Greek word for«dark»…I think the intention was something along the lines of «shrouded in the darkness of the fog» — to evoke a sense of mystery. As far the wine itself… no mystery about how high quality. Plenty of great fruit and nice finish with what we tasted… with some definite potential for longevity. So if you want to really have a personal, intimate tasting experience and don’t want to do be lost among the usual wine country tourists, not to mention tasting something that you’ll never find in any store(as distribution is essentially the winery plus several restaurants) then you’ll want to make it here. As a side not they will actually be doing a winemaker dinner at Anthology(which I’ve also reviewed) later this year. So check it out… you’ll have a great experience and some great wine.
