Been on the mailing list since the 70’s. Still buying the wine. Buy others as well now because they have ALMOST risen to the same level of excellence. Latest Altamont Pinot Noir just blew me away.

I love wineries that are off the beaten path, and Dehlinger fits the bill quite nicely. There is no gondola, no castle, no swimming pool and to my knowledge, no movies have been filmed here. So if you are looking for the wine country, Disneyland style, stay away. But really, it isn’t very accessible which is what makes it so great — no tour busses or drunken bachelorette parties here. Certain months of the year it is open by appointment on Fridays, but other than that it has only two open houses a year. If you happen to make it to one, you’re in for a treat. Their wines are wonderful — I have never not liked anything I’ve tasted, and you can tell the thought and care that went into them. They’re known for their Pinot, but I’ve also been pleasantly surprised by some of the blends. I was lucky enough to stumble upon Dehlinger with some friends a few years ago. It has become one of our favorites and we try to make it to the open house whenever we can.

Tom Dehlinger is an ornery cuss, in a good way. He stays close to his roots, and shuns the«celebrity» aspects of wine-makers. His daughters have brought this place to a new level. Wonderful, wonderful wines!

I’m a new Dehlinger fan. My friends and I were visiting the Sonoma wine country and were lucky enough to happen to be in the area for one of the two open houses per year. What a treat! Delicious wine, great people, tasty food, and all for free. In fact, they were even giving away bins of extra squash, pumpkins and gourds from their fall harvest. Of course you will want to buy all the wines though! I loved the laid back approach from a family who truly loves and knows their wine. All the wines are fabulous. Delicious Pinots and frankly all the wines we tasted were great and worth buying! I love getting my emails with new releases and am so glad we stumbled upon this gem!

I’m a Dehlinger junkie. My parents have been wine club members for 25 years and I have every intention of following in their footsteps. The Dehlinger family was blessed with the ability to make extraordinary, out of this world wines. Their Pinot changes lives. It is by appointment only, but they do host two open houses a year. Beware that if you come here, you run the risk of going broke because you’ll want to buy all their wines. A small price to pay for happiness in a bottle, though. I love you Dehlinger! Keep the great wines coming!

Extraordinary wines and the best Pinot Noir that I have had anywhere. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful, especially Carmen. I am looking forward consuming my latest purchases and heading back up to the winery in November for my fall allotment.

The bottle of wine that got me was a bottle of an ’05 Dehlinger Estate Pinot Noir. I had a good basic knowledge of wine through safeway with most of their low and medium end wine to find my groove through my early development of Oenology. I never found a favorite, although I did like a few. But then a friend, a loyal customer or Dehlinger of a couple of decades, gifted me a bottle. I fell in love! Then I realized the difference of drinking«regular/accessible» wine, and the desire to taste, savor, and wait for developing complexity with just one bottle. I joined the waiting list immediately and I met Tom and and the core crew soon after. After I learned he was one of the pioneers of Pinot Noir in CA, low production, hard to find/get, cult status, and reasonably priced. Luckily, I was able to get on the list soon after with a low allocation but with crazy excitement! They used to seem always trying to keep a low profile and just make the best for their guests, but they just blew up the pinot craze recently on Wine Spectator. I’m sure the turn over of snail mail style to the technological world helped with Tom’s eventual successors. Though with the world wide acknowledgement, and the crazy sought after status, a family member always answer the phone… don’t be star struck if it is Tom!

Extraordinary Wines. Well-run facility, lovely architecture of their home(?) The pourers at their event were pleasant. Bought a t-shirt, it was soft. Only good things to say about this. ====update==== For a recent celebration we enjoyed a 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve and it was perfect!
