Great selection of beers and the food is fantastic.

Service was bad! Wanted to get a bite to eat on Sunday so we stopped by. There were lots of empty table but the lady at the front informed us there would be a 20min wait(after she got off her long phone call.) Not sure why they would leave open all those empty tables and turn away customers? We were super hungry so decided we would eat at the bar. After being ignored for quite some time we finally got to order. The food took a long time to get to us and it was OK, but nothing to write home about. Everyone except our bartender seemed grumpy and rude. His service was on the low end of what I would consider acceptable. Not sure if they were having a bad day but needless to say I am not going back and it was bad enough to get me to write a review.

Wanted to love this place, great food and beer selection, but terrible service. Bar manager on Presidents Day was extremely rude and slow to us and our neighbors at the bar. Must have been having a bad day, and didn’t handle it well at all. Even though the restaurant/bar was not full, he was overly flustered, dropping glasses, and treating customers like we were a huge burden.

Grubbin’ food & amazing beer as well. Outside beer garden and fire pit is one of the most chill spots I’ve been at in Sonoma county. Service here is okay, seems like the waitresses need some appreciation to get lively and show sincere smiles, or maybe they were just extra stressed with a couple bigger parties that were crazy obnoxious. Probably the stressed. I could only imagine this place with live music. Must be awesome. Gonna have to keep an eye on the calendar of events and check it out.

I went here with friends for some food and a drink. It’s a nice place and I will be back. The mac & cheese was pretty good but the 4 pack of tacos was awesome! I am not a beer drinker so I enjoyed wine and it was good. Looking forward to my next visit!

Super nice patio and amazing beer list. They have a reserve list that really got my attention. Their regular list is so so but still some decent beers to choose from. Friendly service and good food.

Holy $%*& venue is beautiful, I loved the cleanliness it projects on top of the variety of people it attracts. Food was not amazing but definitely good. Service was exceptional, just a bit slow.

After all the years living in Sonoma County, I JUST went to Hopmonk for the first time this week. It was just OK. The beer selection was small and vanilla, that is to say they had many beers, but all the usual Northern CA breweries, with the same old kinds. I’m used to breweries going out on a limb, having a ton of beers you’ve never heard of. They did have a good selection of bottles and cans, but I really prefer to have draft if I’m out. Had dinner too, again just OK. I ordered the Ruben with a cup of tomato soup. Soup came out cold, and when the sandwich and fries came out the fries were cold and limp… Now I’m really not a fussy person, but soup and fries are meant to be hot! So, I might go there for a show and a beer, but not dinner.

Great pulled pork! The sweet potato fries with the aioli is awesome :-) I don’t drink, but my friends enjoyed their cocktails…

A good pub most of the time. I’d like to see a menu change and more creative booking for music i.e. less hippy jam band type music…

Great dog friendly beer garden. Beer selection is also quite nice. I had a black lager and a kellerbier while my hubby had a cask beer, all quite nice. I had their monk burger which really hit the spot with sweet potato fries while hubby had and love the pulled pork. All in all, quite great!

Hopmonk is probably the most consistently operated & managed business /restaurant in downtown SEB. The Quality of food, beer and overall presentation surpasses any other business in the area Waaaaay too child friendly — please take your children to Chuck E Cheese’s if they’re going to run around, scream and whine.

Amazing burgers!!! In fact, so good I didn’t even need to add ketchup! When was the last time you had a burger like that. Beers are awesome. I’m a big fan of their stout. Staff is also super cool. I came here for lunch, but I’m definitely coming back for dinner and show. One draw back — the outdoor patio was swarming with flies when I went. So give a good look around before you settle on a spot to sit.

I’d probably give it 4 stars if I was here juat for drinks and a snack. It was a little too unruly for a quiet sit down dinner. Definitely bar food vibe. We got the artichokes and the assorted sliders. The artichokes were made well, but doesn’t seem like there was much quality control on the artichokes they selected. They were a bit scrawny. The sliders weren’t memorable. I’d come back for the bar scene and the outdoor patio.

Great spot to enjoy with friends! There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, so grab a chair and settle in. While they have some of their own brews on tap, none of us were huge fans of their house brews. If you’re already in the vicinity, this is a great stop for eats and drinks.

We’ve only made it to HopMonk during the day, and we relish a low key, warm weather visit here. They have a good in-house craft beer selection, nice pub grub, plenty of outdoor seating, green arbors, fountains, wooden picnic tables outdoors, kids playing and if you time it just right, you may hear a live quartet strumming away in the garden. The food is good(full disclosure, I think its good, but some would describe it as adequate) and affordable, and the location is family-friendly during the daytime hours, complete with smiling parents with strollers, singles, and couples all sharing the sunshine together. Their indoor restaurant has cozy leather booths and warm ambiance and importantly for game day, a few screens in bar that face the dining room. The menu includes sausages, fries, onion rings and salads. HopMonk at night is a loud and crowded music venue, but by day, you’ll find a humble, quiet, hospitable family-friendly craft beer spot of the nicely laid back variety. If I could stop this review now, you might conclude I’m a solid fan. And that would be mostly true. My main reservation in recommending HopMonk,(and I say this as a return customer) is their shockingly dirty restrooms. Truly awful. Make no bones about it: this just may be the closest you will come to an unattended gas station bathroom in a craft beer setting in your lifetime. Too much information? I don’t disagree, but it had to said lest you think I’m vouching for the whole kit and caboodle.

Beer selection and patio can’t be beat in Sebastopol. Ask for what’s on special tap, as they don’t print a new menu for those. Patio: They have delightful outdoor lighting and mushroom heaters for when the fog rolls in, but not so many that you can rely on them if it’s truly frigid, unless you’re seated directly next to one. Food is also pretty good, though on my last visit the beet salad had exactly 3 pieces of beet and was overdressed… Otherwise, the portion sizes are large, so beware if you plan to share appetizers. Our last order was for two to split the calamari, beet salad and meat/cheese platter– and we couldn’t finish everything. On nights with live music it can seem more crowded than usual– but they put the music in a separate room so those who are just there for that don’t interrupt the diners. You can still hear some of the music, maybe slightly above ambient levels, but it’s not obnoxiously loud. I’m glad they’ve managed to stick around in a building that had a lot of turnover when I was growing up here.

This place will not soon be forgotten, it was a garden of Eden, with a little something for everyone it seemed. Myself and a group of high school mates met up from various parts of the state to end up here for the Mother Hips, without tickets though. Once we realized how many people had showed up, and how small the venue was to be, we circled for an in. We found one, but two of us were ousted pretty quick. Later, while waiting for the light to shine, Tim Bluhm himself came out of the backstage exit to warm up his voice before going on, and we caught him right then and there with our sob but true story. He took pity and contacted their tour manager to ad us to their guests! A sweet and gentle bard indeed! They of course killed it in that banquet hall, and we were guests of honor in our minds. The rest of the grounds are very nice too, with walkways that meander through their gravel and landscaped lot between buildings, and the steak house/sports bar type restaurant you walk through to get there. Lots of fun, lots of televisions and beer and people getting loose.
