What a great experience! Definitely on the road less travelled but so very worth it! Priscilla met us at the gate to let us into their property. And what a property. Horses, pond, gardens surrounded by vineyards. David poured his LOVELY wines and we chatted about wine, life, cars. We walked the property and he even backed our trailer out for is. This is what wine tasting should always be like(and probably was before the day of the mega-winery). I can’t wait to return and attend one of their famous bottling parties! Keep it up, David!

I’ve been using Unilocal for years, but have never left a single review. Here’s to firsts! This place is what Wine Country is all about. Dave opened his doors to me ever when he was closed, showed me is estate, sampled incredible wines, and we shared good stories. Little did he know, I was having a rough day, and he went above and beyond and made that day one to remember. You will not get this at any of the big wineries, and even most of the small ones. Who cares if it’s out of your way or not on a «tour» list. This is a special place. I’m telling you, stop here. Thanks Dave. Keep doing your thing.

Fabulous family friendly small winery. Perfect for small gatherings to do a wine tasting. Nice owners. We had a group of half a dozen children and a dozen adults. Kids were kept entertained with a miniature horse, a puppy, and the area. Sumptuous wine for the adults.

Dave and P immediately make feel like you’re at home, and then once you taste their incredible wine-you are home.

This is a fun spot off the beaten path. David and P were wonderful and welcoming. The whites, which are usually not my favorites, were unexpected and very nice. The Reds… what can I say about the Reds except that they were deep, rich and fabulous. Not your usual snobby uptight winery. We will be back and bring the friends and family.

We are so glad we met David and Priscilla! Great wine tasting experience in such a great environment. We loved the wine and our kids loved the small improvised petting zoo. Highly recommend. Friendly advice, try to call before your visit and get ready to spend some great time with new friends.

I’ve been wine tasting for about 15 years now. I’ve increasingly been getting turned off by Sonoma. It’s starting to go with the way of Napa and become impersonal, expensive, and a little snooty at times. Then I stumbled upon Moondance Cellars. OMG… I’ve never had a wine tasting experience like this before. Priscilla and Dave were the perfect hosts, despite calling for an appointment at about 4:30 on a Saturday night. I’m sure they had better things to do. Nevertheless, they welcomed us with open arms. We were introduced to dogs, horses, and hot rods. This was hands-down the best wine tasting experience I’ve ever had. I left with a $ 45 bottle of pino, which is fantastic. The cab that everyone’s raving about was not only fantastic, but has a unique story behind how it’s made. I’m going to make you visit to hear it. :) I would have bought a bottle of the cab too, but it was a little out of my price range. The spirit of old Sonoma still exists. Moondance is proof of that. You just have to dig a little deeper to find it now.

David and Priscilla were wonderful hosts! This was a wine tasting experience like none other. You really feel like you are over at a friends house with these two hosts. Not only was the wine wonderful but we got to «tour» around their property and meet all the backyard companions including a miniature horse named Mini Me!

I’ll be telling all my friends about Moondance! Hanging with owners David & Priscilla was like hanging out with old friends we didn’t know we had. They’re warm and inviting and fun. And they make great wines in small amounts so you’re truly drinking something special. Generous tastes and the opp to buy wine you won’t find at the big box wine stores. And I got to play with the new puppy and Mini Me — they’re miniature horse! It’s very worth the ride for a little day trip — make it a destination. They do «pop up» tasting which simply means calling them up, tell them you’re coming and they’ll open the gate. Have fun!

Try the cab. Just do it. Life changing. All the wines are pretty even fantastic, pinot noir being a good second to the aforementioned life changing cab.

David and Priscilla welcomed us like family to their wonderful winery in the hills of Sebastopol. The property is gorgeous and the tasting is free! The cabernet sauvignon is particularly wonderful, but all the wine is great. We loved getting to chat with David and Priscilla and ate our picnic dinner at the tables out by the pond. The horses are sweeties and Mike is a crazy little Jack Russell who likes head scratches. Call ahead for a drop-in tasting and enjoy beautiful Moondance Cellars!

Bucolic setting, groovy owners, this is a great place for sipping some lovely wines in a low-key, low-stress atmosphere. Insider information direct from the horse’s mouth, or at least the winemaker’s! Just go.

We had the pleasure of meeting Priscilla and David Cohen today at their winery. What a charming and inviting couple. We left there feeling we had spent the day with our two new best friends! The wine is fantastic, especially the Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and the Cabernet Sauvignon. Don’t let the price of the Cab deter you from buying it($ 85). Both my husband and sister are still raving about it! Looking forward to a prime rib dinner with the Cab. The property is wonderful. Don’t skip the tour of the horses. This winery is a must to visit if you’re looking for family owned boutique winery. Can’t wait to visit again.

Unique, off the beaten path(seriously it’s on Blank road with no sign), absolutely lovely winery surrounded by vineyards. The owners invite you into their space, sharing moments of their life. We arrived on a Saturday around 4:30(close around 5pm). Lovely conversation about things to do in the area + we were able to visit with their horses & hot rods +++++++ top it off with phenomenal wines(personally preferred the Reds over white .but white were great as well.) Cute new puppy addition, Mike, to live in as well! Get away from big box and visit this very special place.

Thank you so much for the wonderful afternoon. Rich and I had such a great time. The wine was excellent and the company was just as great! Beautiful scenery, and loved being around your dog and the horses. I feel like we could’ve stayed for days! Such a change of pace from our week in Napa Valley. Comfortable and«come as you are» vibe — you warmly welcome people like family. We had to take the Pinot Noir home with us! Sooo good. Thanks!

I read about this cellar after they won several awards(double gold in the Chronicle and a few others) and had been wanting to visit them. They should get an award for a visit to their tasting room too! It’s in a cute little barn and there are horses and a miniature horse(in a separate barn) and doggies, and the owners were so nice. A true family winery. If you’re looking for stuffy snobby or ultra-commercial go elsewhere. Their ’13 cab was amazing — super fruit forward and low tannins. If you have a large group I’d call ahead though, the tasting room is very small. Overall had a very nice visit and will be back.

Awesome little barn for a tasting room. We had the ’13 Sauvignon blanc and the ’13 flash detànt cab. Really top tier Napa style cab with intense fruit and low tannin. The owners are super friendly, laid back people and it felt like they were welcoming us into their home. Looking forward to coming again!

We first visited Moondance in Glen Ellen, and now they’ve moved to Sebastopol. Their wine was so good that we joined their wine club on our first tasting. Two years later, their wine is better than ever! I highly recommend all of their wines, but the Chardonnay and Cabernets are my personal favorites.
