Talk about friendly and helpful staff! Yessss! And a beautiful organized selection. 3 very thing has been remodeled and they have a lovely separate room for school field trips, book readings, they even had a gardener lover workshop the other weekend! So much is going on at our library! Get involved in your community! It’s fun and your community lives you! They have the monthly calendar for this library readily available each month, so you can keep it handy and drop in when you want to learn. :)) Learning is life to me! I feel like if I don’t learn something new each day, I must be doing something wrong. I really appreciate our library, the staff and volunteers… most of all a big THANKYOU to Michelle! She rocks! If you are interested in putting an educational trip to the library together for your child’s class or even just for a bigger group, she is always happy to help and with smiles. :)) There is a book sale going on right now too ;) Quick tip: the fish or feesh machine… how do you spell that? Anyway… that big old machine that I grew up with is not at this particular library. I believe the last one is at the downtown Santa Rosa library. But I will update this as soon as I confirm that and write it on Santa Rosas Unilocal.Sorry.

I have spent lots of time in libraries, and this is the noisiest one ever. A library should be a quiet place to read and study, not a community center where people socialize, talk loudly and kids run around shouting. There are other places for that. Children should be taught to be respectful of others in a library. And tutors shouldn’t be sitting near other folks while they are tutoring. There should be a separate area for them, as all the libraries have in Marin County. It is very distracting and hard to concentrate there.

Wonderful. It’s cute. The staff is perfectly helpful. I love the fact that this library is connected with several other branches in Sonoma County. A book requested from another library arrives at this(my) branch seemingly as soon as it is available. The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is because I wish there were some places to sit near the windows. Reading in the window sun on a chilly day in the library is so fun.

I went here for the first time since I was in high school and am not a fan of the remodel. It made it so confusing, overwhelming, and unwelcoming. I couldn’t believe the noise when I walked in… When did«library» become synonymous with«gymboree?» All types of loud kids… Hope you don’t need a quiet place to study… I dislike the self checkout– I’m not at Safeway, I am a book lover. Would really enjoy interacting with a librarian about different books for me to read but the remodel made them pretty inaccessible. Basically nothing changed except the setup and new technology discouraging social interaction between/among bibliophiles.

Totally different than when I was a kid. I didn’t realize a remodel had even happened. It looks smaller, and kind-of like a little sad, depressing library. If I were a kid now, and my parents forced me to come here to do all my research(like I was to my little sister) I would probably hate libraries. That all being said. There’s a few computers for locating books. I wish there were more so i didn’t have to wait. I’m not even sure if you can on the computer center in the middle that they have all set up. There were also quite a few of homeless people occupying those computers. But it’s a functioning library. We found what we needed. Next door there was some music thing going on. That was nice to stroll over to and check out.

I went in here during finals week to study and my eyes teared up a bit. All the nostalgia I had felt for this place is gone. Since the remodel it’s totally different. In my opinion not good different! The business looks much smaller and less welcoming. They have added more computers and a new check out machine.(I like my librarians though!) The old library had many nooks and crannies which were perfect for curling up with a good book. Now it’s very open and sterile. I’ll still be coming here but all the nostalgia has flown out the window.

This is the loudest library I have ever been in. That is not a bad thing, I am pro-sound. I am just from an era where people used to use their«library voices» in a library, so it is a bit odd to me. Even the library book cart is loud. Lots of places to sit and read. It seems well organized(from what I can tell). There is usually an art show or a blood drive or something interesting in the little foyer room. Great location — when my daughter is studying I can walk to Whole Foods or sneak away to the cookie shop or Copperfields.

Free internet! You can wait for the opportunity to use it for ½ hour to an hour, or you can usually find a 15 minute station open. It’s weird that they have to check your ID if you don’t have a library card, and they limit out of towners to 1 hour daily. It is a small library, but well staffed and stocked. It’s a great place to hang out on a hot day, read some magazines and check email.
