The Wild Orchid

Jane is honestly as good as it gets in so many different ways. As a person, she was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was attentive and detail oriented and although I know from her instagram that she is incredibly busy, she made me feel like I was the only and most important bride that she was working with. That’s pretty amazing!
As far as her work goes, she strikes the perfect balance between listening to what you have to say and paying attention to your style while offering her own ideas and creativity, which is one of the many reasons I wanted to work with her. She is very passionate about her work and truly loves flowers and she really comes up with amazing ideas to compliment the look and feel that you are going for.
I would recommend Jane a thousand times over. As I told her, I really miss emailing and talking to her now that my wedding is over. Next event I host, I will absolutely work with Jane again and I recommend you do the same if you are reading this!

Your hours say you are open 7am to 7pm on a Monday, yet when I called at 2:30 and again at 3:00 pm yesterday; your phone rolled to voice mail. Your voice mail says to leave a message with no further information when to expect a call back. I am 9 hours ahead in Switzerland. Why on earth would I leave a message, not knowing when you’re planning to call back? A business needs a live person to man their phones during opening hours. You may want to rethink your business model. I spent $ 100 with your competitor over at Wisteria Florist, in Santa Rosa and I just wrote him a stellar review.

The Wild Orchid (Jane Arnold) is the best. I live in the East Bay, was getting married in Napa and Jane was in Sebastapol– we only met briefly on the day of the wedding, when she kindly dropped off our bouquets at our hotel in Napa (for our photos) before making her way to the ceremony then reception (St. Helena). She is willing to work with you regardless of the distance!
So we never met prior to the wedding. With that being said… You MUST hire Jane. She’s the best of both worlds– She works within your budget, but manages to produce floral pieces and arrangements that look like you spent a fortune. She’s patient and flexible– and was able to give me the «Look and feel (+colors)» that I wanted, even though the flowers I initially wanted were out of season (again without having once met in person!). If there was one thing that went flawlessly at my wedding– it was the flowers! Thank you Jane for making our wedding day extra perfect ;)

When I think back to our wedding, the main and first thing that comes to mind are the incredible flower arrangements that Jane put together! I was feeling very nervous while everything was getting setup the day of our wedding, but once Jane came and brought me my bouquet… I just knew everything was going to be perfect! All of the flowers were exactly what I had dreamed about and my guests could not stop raving about how gorgeous they were. I really feel like it MADE the wedding.
I love flowers but know nothing about the names of flowers or what flowers are in season. When we met with Jane to discuss our ideas, I was very vague because I did not know exactly what I wanted– but I knew the feel of what I wanted– rustic, freshly cut flowers arranged like they had just been cut from the garden. She basically took my vision and pictures of what I knew I loved and worked her magic! She is super sweet, very personable and easy to talk to, and very down to earth. Her prices are also amazing. If I ever have a special event in the future, I’ll be sure to have Jane do my flowers :)

I’m not much of a review writer; I’m more of a review reader. Like most people, I suppose it’s only the really, really awful or really, really stellar experiences that inspire me to write a review. I’m happy to report that Jane and the Wild Orchid fall in the «stellar» category.
I decided to throw a fancy birthday party for myself for the first time in my life, and the floral design was very important to me. After interviewing several floral designers on the phone, Jane was the obvious pick for several reasons.
First, from day one Jane returned my calls and emails promptly. Maybe for some folks this wouldn’t be so critical, but for me it was a high priority. I am always very busy with work, and even though the party was very important to me, I didn’t have time to chase down my vendors. Jane made communication easy. In fact, the only time we met face-​to-​face before my party, she drove out to my house (which is sorta remote) on a 95 degree Sunday, after she’d already done the flowers for two events earlier that day!
Second, she listens. She didn’t try to push what she thought or wanted on me, all she cared about was that I be pleased with the flowers. I vaguely described a sort of colorful summer picnic feel, and she came through with flying colors (pun intended, I guess). The arrangements were more beautiful than I could’ve imagined. I’d had the tiniest concern because from her website, it looks like a lot of her work is quite formal, and I wanted the opposite. She ended up bringing me exquisitely beautiful arrangements in Mason jars, which just about every guest complimented. It was perfect.
Third, she does what she says she’ll do. After we met, she put a description of what she was providing for me in a very detailed project statement to ensure we were on the same page. It was so reassuring to know that it was all there in writing, and she provided what she said she would (and more!). She arrived right on time for our first meeting, as well as on the day of the party.
Fourth, she made it look easy. I wanted garlands for all my guests (and for my dog… yep, I’m like that). Other floral designers I’d spoken to had told me that making that many (20+) garlands would be so time-​consuming and so expensive… but Jane just said that’d be great, and that she’d made dog garlands before, and she made me beautiful garlands which were one of the hits of the party. My garland was the most beautiful, of course.
Fifth, she has amazing people skills. I was exhausted and cranky on the day of the party (read my review of the caterer and you’ll understand at least partially why), so when Jane arrived in her usual good spirits, I think I might’ve mumbled, «I can’t deal with you right now.» «No problem,» said she, and went about her work. When I emerged from my cocoon of misery, there she was, done with placing the flowers, and that put me in a great mood because they were so beautiful. She was respectful and professional at all times, and is just an all-​around sweetheart.
Clearly I think very, very highly of this talented, lovely woman. If you’re lucky enough to be able to book Jane for your event, you will be very glad you did!

I LOVE THE WILD ORCHID! Jane is such a talented florist! She made all my dreams come true for what I had invisioned my wedding to look like! She is so very versatile in the work that she does. I couldn’t have imagined how my wedding would have turned out without her!

I had just three months to plan my wedding and with a very small budget too. I am so happy that I was able to find Jane/​The Wild Orchid to do the floral arrangements. We communicated solely through email as that was the easiest way for me to get stuff done. I first emailed her the date of my wedding (to check availability, especially since it was Thanksgiving weekend) and a list of what I was looking for. I asked her to provide an idea of what the costs may be and she got back to me immediately. The cost was right within my budget. She also provided additional information and suggestions on the flowers and what might work best for my wedding day.
I ordered a bouquet, tossing bouquet (that doubled as my maid-of-honor’s bouquet), corsages and boutonnieres. I gave her free range over what types of flowers to use, given my budget and wedding colors and was extremely happy with the results. Since my wedding was to be held in the same town as The Wild Orchid, Jane offered to deliver the flowers at no additional cost. She arrived on time with the most beautiful flower arrangements.
I highly recommended hiring Jane/​The Wild Orchid for all special events needs as she was highly professional, easy to work with, provided excellent service, and is the best value for floral needs.

Jane is awesome!
She is so mellow & low key, a wonderful gentle presence on a stressful day. Our flowers were absolutely beautiful. She made so much out of a small budget and I will always be grateful to her for the loveliness she brought to our day. She even helped my friends doing setup. And her emails leading up to the day were always so kind and encouraging.
A kind person, a fabulous florist, a magician with the budget.
