Embassy Suites Secaucus – Meadowlands

Arrived early and got into the room to find the floors were dirty, didn’t take my shoes off until at the bed.
The restroom was outdated and falling apart, while the shower and tub were small and falling apart with water leaking out of the base.
The managers reception was nothing special and you only get 1 drink coupon.
Stayed the night because the whole town was booked but moved to the hotel across the street in the morning, cheaper and more room.
Hilton needs to Reno this property or better yet just demolish it and start over

There are so many things wrong with this property, that it hard to know where to start. We were on the top floor, should have been much nicer according to the management.
The breakfast changes items on the weekends, and many items are deleted, the service is OK, but the change is noticeable. They evidently do not like the children, that is why I was told that the items changed. The happy hour, is not so happy, one drink, and chips and pretzels. My family and I also noticed that the swimming pool was very very warm, and each time we went in, we all ended up with hair in our mouths, and in our face. I had two suites, and one had a newer TV, and the other was much older model, that the sound stayed on, but the picture would go off. The air vents in the bedroom, are black around the edges, not cleaned on regular basis. When checking out, I was charged a different price for both rooms, one was correct, and the other was $ 200.00 to high. I did receive a credit four days later on my bill. The location is good, and the omelet chef is great, but that is really the only positive things that I can say about the property. I usually love Hilton properties, and I am a Hilton Grand vacation owner.

This review is specifically for the fantastic complimentary breakfast and Prapa, who has got to be the world’s best short order cook. Never have I encountered someone who could take so many orders simultaneously, cook everyone’s order to their exact specifications and have time to be polite (she said «thank you,» «honey,» «have a great day,» and various other pleasantries to every guest). Embassy Suites — please give this lady an award and a raise. Seriously.
I had breakfast here twice in a row the other weekend; made sure not to miss it! The first day I waited in line for about 10 minutes for the made-​to-​order dishes. I ordered the omelette with everything but tomatoes (sausage, bacon, spinach, jalapeños, onions, mushrooms and cheddar) and pancakes. I told Prapa I wanted my omelette soft a little late in the process, but nevertheless is was delicious. The next day when I came I made sure to say I wanted it soft in the beginning and it was perfect.
I also ordered the made-​to-​order pancakes which were fluffy and moist. From the chafers I had mixed fruit, potatoes and (I couldn’t help myself) some sausage links. Yes, I like sausage links. A lot.
Outside of the breakfast this hotel is standard for the Meadowlands in terms of amenities. They have a pool, which was very lively with guests over the weekend. The hotel also has an atrium lobby so make sure to look up.
The staff was extremely friendly, from the cleaners to the front desk agents to the gentleman outside. This is a place that gets customer service right.

I have not stayed in this hotel, just made a purchase of snacks… after engaging in a transaction I now understand why they only have 3 stars. It’s normal to them I guess, not to care about how customer service is perceived. When it comes to service, perception is reality and this concierge represented this branch in the most negative way, with sarcasm and carelessness and the manager from the over night shift condoned it. He excused the concierge’s behavior stating that «she was new and she didn’t know what she was doing». Seemed to me that this was a common pattern/​problem. She was sarcastic and her conversion of etiquette was just the nastiest and most depressing. I will be sure to never book a room at this hotel until they change the staff. So sad… what ever happen to good customer service???

Do not stay at this hotel if you need wifi! They have an absolute disregard for this service. They have know about the problem for months.

I won’t be back again anytime soon. Rooms are large but seriously dated. TV’s must have been purchased over 9 years ago. The carpet in my room was just filthy. I had to move a night stand closer to the bed, and it was just filthy behind it. I didn’t even feel comfortable sitting on the couch in my room. Sorry, not worth over $ 500 for two nights stay, no way. Also, parking is a ramp garage, it’s free, but your not getting a spot without a walk.

The location is outstanding. The bus stop to NYC is right outside the hotel making a day trip into the Port Authority one of the easiest I’ve had.
Parking is free in the garage.
Many of the rooms are in need of renovation and updating. Furnishings are worn. Our room seemed exempt from that, perhaps the higher floors being maintained better?
The managers special/​social hour is cheesy. At this location, they give you one drink coupon. Most others have a somewhat open bar for well drinks. And the snacks are an assortment of chips etc… Their near peer competitor, Residence Inn, beats them on the chow.
Internet is limited and to get better speeds, you have to pay $ 14.95 a day even with HHonors status. Marriott hotels beat them here as well, allowing up to 8 devices at higher speeds with your Gold status.
Some reviewers complain about expense. I’d challenge and say you are paying also for location. The convenience of location to the surrounding businesses and access to NYC are intangibles folded into the price.
Breakfast buffet and eggs to cook were wonderful… Embassy Suites has seldom disappointed in this regard. Ample seating make it a preasurable morning even during the busy hour
All in all we will stay again … but we’ll likely check out the neighboring competition first.

Great location for a hotel. Probably a 20 or so minute ride to Manhattan. Either via car or bus. The bus takes you to Port Authority and runs until 2 am and runs about every 20 to 30 minutes. Very convenient and less hassles than driving into the city. Free parking garage right next door.
Small check in area but large lobby with a bar and restaurant. It’s a hollow middle style set up and there are glass panes on the elevators so you can enjoy the view.
The rooms are large with two rooms. One living room area with a TV and desk and sofa. The sofa had a pull out bed too. The bathroom was in between the bedroom and living room. There’s also a refrigerator, microwave, sink, and coffee maker. The bedroom had a queen bed and TV.
Great option if you get priced out of the city.

I’ve stayed there for years. It’s not good when the lock on the doors doesn’t work and the bathroom looks grimy.

The absolute worst Embassy Suites I have ever stayed at. The hotel is old and in need of upgrade. The staff yes to death and do nothing. The made us change rooms when the people next to us were making noise all night. We are Hilton Honors and it meant nothing. Tried watching the news and the TV stopped working. The breakfast and Happy Hour are about the only good things. We will never stay here again, Hilton should have standards when operators use their name.
GO TO ANOTHER HOTEL.

Overall it was a great experience. The hotel was good. Listened and helped with the problems. I had access to the vending machine credenza but my code didn’t work. Devin, at the front desk helped tremendously.
The heating in the room didn’t work. It was chilly at night and the vent was loud. Had to sleep with jacket on.
More importantly I had to leave some bags with the front desk because I had to check out of room but still had to be at the convention hall. One bag had a pin on it and when I got back the pin was missing. The person helping me look. Looked quickly and haphazardly. I felt she could care less about the pin. The pin was not recovered and she didn’t ask for my name and how they could contact me in case they found pin. They also didn’t ask me to fill out form about lost pin. I think she might have taken pin which is why she rushed me out. It was very disappointing and left a bad taste in my mouth
If it wasn’t for that missing pin the experience was good

I stayed in this hotel last night, literally just checked out this morning. I am an Hilton Honers Member, and I usually am very happy with any «Hilton», especially the Embassy Suites since I stayed in one in Dominican Republic and was absolutely in love, so I was excited to stay at this one.
Walking in, we were taken care of pretty quickly, I had booked a studio room with a queen size bed. When we got into the room, my husband turned and looked at me and simply said «NO». The room was a superrrrr super super small corner room, very uncomfortable for the price of 249 dollars plus tax, which is RIDICULOUS for a room like THAT. Immediately we called the front desk and explained to them that we were very unhappy with the room, and they told us they would see what they could do for us but the only thing they had available were rooms with 2 double beds. I asked for a refund which wasn’t possible, so they upgraded us to the 9^th floor which is the top floor, at the same rate of our studio room. The room was spacious, very spacious, it was a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom room. Room reeked of eggs, and wasn’t too pretty. Not really what I asked for, but I get it being that I said the studio was small they gave me something super huge? I just wanted a regular room, like at the Hiltons I stay at all the time. This morning my final charges were 300 dollars. I couldn’t believe it. We usually stay at the W in Hoboken, which is a 5 star hotel, AMAZING views, amazing food, valet parking, munchie box, beautiful room, awesome everything, for the price of a studio room at the Embassy Suites. Literally, I booked a beautiful room, paid for valet and ate from the munchie box at the W, and paid about the same amount, probably an extra few dollars, and was super happy with my stay. Only reason why we stayed here was because we had work the next morning, and we work in the area. I never even write reviews often, but I was expecting something much much better, and for the price, it’s not worth it. And to top it off, breakfast was gross. I ordered a bacon and cheese omelette and french toast, I really dont even have the words for it. But all I know is I won’t stay here again.

This was a pretty great experience! I chose this location because we were going into the city and didn’t want to drive /​park /​stay in the city. Parking here is free, and the bus stop to Port Authority is right across the street. The buses run every 20 – 30 minutes, so this hotel is absolutely convenient.
I reserved a bigger room with a conference table because it was a bachelorette party and we planned to do crafts and games. Everything was clean and exactly as we wanted. The front desk knew it was for a bachelorette and treated us wonderfully with complementary drinks in their lounge.

I have stayed at countless Hilton properties during my career as a pilot. The particular Embassy Suites has a preferred rate with my company. However, it seems as though because many pilots don’t have a choice and have to stay here that they have loosened up on their cleanliness. Keep in mind the preferred rate ends up being $ 240 a night. The shower has mold on every one of the walls and my bath towel had a fist sized hole through it.
The complementary cooked to order breakfast appeared as though a small army had gone through just before me. I arrived at 8:30 AM and it ends at 9 AM. There were four small pieces of cantaloupe remaining, the other fruit tray, bacon, and potatoes had scraps only in them. I understand that breakfast ends at 9 AM, but not keeping it stocked until then is a disappointment.
Unfortunately, I will likely be back here in the future, but hopefully things will have improved by then.

Just got back from a two night stay at the embassy suites in Secaucus. Check-​in was smooth, they even upgraded us for free to a corner city view room since our room wasn’t ready when we got there. The room was huge, a large living room, a large bedroom and a very nice sized bathroom. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were too fluffy. As dumb as that sounds, the pillow swallowed your head. Still better then a hard or flat pillow I guess. The breakfast buffet is free for guests and is a nice size. You can get cooked to order omelettes, pancakes, French toast or scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. Plus an assortment of cereal, yogurt and fruit.
The only reason I’m giving a 4 star review and not a 5 star review is that you can’t turn the air conditioning below 65. And if you have it set and 65, room service will set it at 68. We like to keep our house around 60.
Overall the room and hotel were very clean, the location was good with plenty of restaurants in walking distance and the New Jersey transit bus is right across the street to take you to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC. (Round trip ticket is $ 7.50 per person).

I stayed at the Embassy Suites last weekend with my brother, and daughter. We had reserved a room with 2 king size beds, with a pull out couch, with food and a cake to be ready in the room when we got there, because it was my daughters birthday.
When we arrived, we were told that they had to move our room because of a convention that was in town that same weekend, but everything should be the same.
We got upstairs and our room was one twin size bed, and no food or birthday cake was waiting. We called and asked what was up and they said that is what we reserved, we tried to speak to the supervisor but he wasnt there, so we ended up staying in the room we didn’t want, and asked for a roll away bed, that looked like something out of a prison. And they charged us 234 dollars for this room. We are in the process of getting it worked out through email with Embassy Suites, but its been a battle
The hotel was dirty, outdated, and overall a mess.
We will never stay at an Embassy Suites again.

Really clean and friendly hotel. Easy transportation into the city via New Jersey transit. Lots of options for lunch and dinner are within walking distance. Hotel offers free breakfast which includes made to order omelets pancakes and French toast.

The Embassy Suites hotel in Seacaucus is a deal — if you like 2.5 star deals. Often (well) under $ 200 a night you’ll be hard pressed to find a mid-​tier hotel for much less. It’s also convenient to Harmon Meadows, the shopping and theater area right next door. There you’ll find a bunch of meh restaurants like Olive Garden and Red Lobster and several that are above average, like Chipotle, Buffalo Wild Wings (great for football games) and a Starbucks. Oh, and the bus to NYC stops right across the street. The fare is about $ 8 round trip.
Here is the rest of the story… The place is kinda tired and dated. Furniture is losing its finish. Rooms are poorly lighted. There’s just a general icky-​ness that screams. «Renovate me!»
But wait. There’s more. You get a free drink and free buffet breakfast as part of the deal. Neither are great. Your welcome drink is a small glass of beer or a lousy house wine. Über-​meh. The buffet breakfast epitomizes why buffets are generally bad. For instance, yesterday’s bacon was literally a pile of bacon pieces — no strips found — that when raised from the steam table seemed like an unrecognizable mass of meat. I did take a sampling to my table but actually spit it out when I found it to be unchewable, like shoe leather. Decaf coffee was a no show at the beverage bar. The highlight is the cooked to order egg area, but the long line scared me off. Today I cut my losses and went to the Starbucks a block away — a much better choice.
The internet is free but is slow and unreliable. When mentioned to the front desk they were aware and disinterested.
One more thing. We got a rate of $ 199. I went to my room and logged on to
using my Diamond Status number and found the generally available rack rate to be $ 170. Moreover, using a AAA card I could get the room for $ 160. I called the front desk to ask for the better rate, if not for my first night’s stay then for the rest of my 3 days. He said ok. Upon checking the next day, however, he honored only the rack rate, and they would not readjust my rate at all to the AAA rate. That’s just bad business, IMOHO.
Poorly played Embassy, poorly played.
So if you’re looking for a value play that has significant baggage that comes along with it, then Embassy Suites is your place. Unfortunately there are other hotels within a stone’s throw that want our business, too.

— No trash liner used in the trash can. I’ve never seen this happen before.
— Parking is costly.
I would stay here again. It is only 4 miles from Time Square. Just keep in mind that 4 miles may be the difference of 20 minutes to a 2 hour commute depending on the time of day you are making your way to or from the city.
