Sedona Recycles Inc

Wow they sure do put the Rec (recreation) in Recycle! This is one of my favorite stops in Sedona! We usually stay at a friends house, and had been taking our recyclables home with us, until we found this fantastic place! The lobby is beautifully painted and decorated with recycled art, including a dragon head made of crushed cans. When an employee noticed our fascination with the décor, he offered to give us a tour. It was clear that he and the entire staff, were passionate about the environment, and had pride in their jobs. He explained how the on site welder made the storage units for each type of material, as well as the cool interior features. We got to watch tons of plastic smashed into a bale. Our curiosity was well rewarded!
I recommend Sedona Recycles for those wishing to recycle their vacation trash, kids and folks interested in «the way things work!»

We went to the Sedona Recycles annual swap meet. Individual vendors bring stuff to swap and, in comparison to the swapmeets I normally attend, it was tiny.
We spent the morning browsing vendors’ goods at the swap site in Posse Grounds Park. To my pleasant surprise there was one record dealer. The only item I ended up walking away with though was a Danish snack bowl.
The event is free, so why not check it out. Family activities included face painting and Halloween goodie bag decoration. The swapmeet, I believe, happens once a year in October.
