This is my kind of store. We drove past it last night on our way to dinner. It was after dark and the store was beautifully lighted though closed and I determined to pay them a visit soonest. It was snowing this morning, so we stayed in and ate a light brunch. When the snow abated we went out to visit The Melting Point and stop at Bashas’ to pick up more fruits and vegetables. There is plenty of parking in front and we pulled into a space. In the front window is a magical bicycle sculpture w/faceted glass pieces affixed to the spokes. There are other pieces by the same artist, but the bicycle charmed my heart. We walked into the store and I was entranced by a glass kinetic sculpture, something I had never seen. I love art glass and kinetic sculpture, but had never seen them combined. There are two other kinetic sculptures by the same artist, which use marbles. There is glassware which is beautiful as well as functional. There are drinking glasses and there is jewelry. There are large vases and other, more sculptural pieces. There are marbles, a line of little turtles and wine bottle stoppers. Pretty much anything you can imagine made of glass. Some are made by local artists, some by artists from other parts of the country and the world. Of course there were pieces I wanted to take home. There was a lovely three piece set of nesting bowls by an artist whose first name is Jordan, a bargain at $ 450. And then there were several masterpieces by a Japanese artist, Hiroshi Yamano, each w/a graceful glass fish hanging off the rim. Those were priced in the thousands and I could have been happy w/either of the two that delighted me. But I didn’t buy anything, tempted though I was, because I have no space for more art, no matter how tempting. The Melting Point is more than a store and a gallery. They also offer classes for children and adults. You can read in some of the other reviews how happy people were w/their experiences here. I think the store has been open since the end of last year and it’s a lovely addition to realm of art and life in Sedona.

I just took my first class at the Melting Point and had the most wonderful time! Thank you to the owner and staff at the Melting Point as well as guest instructor Hayley Tsang Sather for making it such a memorable experience. The torch work studio is bright, clean, comfortable, well laid out and there is ample room for each student to work at the torch. I liked that there were multiple kilns spaced around the room so it was always easy to get your hot bead into the kiln quickly. I also liked that you had such a large selection of glass inventory available for purchase! The gallery is beautiful, and stocked with an impressive array of work from many different artists and at all price points. I really liked how shoppers are able to observe the artists at work in both the Hot Shop and the Torch Studio. I am looking forward to returning to Melting Point for another class in the future!

I luv the Melting Pot because it allows visitors to dive right into the art side of Sedona and get in it. Not as an observer and admirer of art but as an artist. When you enter the gallery the space is bright and crisp. Very friendly workers who welcome you in. If you’re feeling inspired by some of the pieces on display like a glass roller coaster for marbles, you can Blow Your Own Glass for an hour. Choose a piece from bowls, glasses and such and jump right in. To the right is the glass blowing area where you will be taught by very talented Sedona artist guiding every step. Their is a window you can watch and observe from the gallery to watch the magic happen. To the back left of the gallery is where you can partake in 6 hour workshops and really get into the art form. Either way you leave with new skills, knowledge, glass piece you made and a unique experience from Sedona. Located on the West side of Sedona. I enjoyed my first visit. Look forward to a return trip soon. If you’re in Sedona drop by the Melting Pot.

This was the best unexpected experience on our road trip through Sedona. The guys were very helpful, connected with my daughters on their level and created an amazing glass piece to remember forever. Treat your kids to this incredible experience next time you’re in Sedona.

This shop is the epitome of a specialty artisan community. Here you will find anything you need glass-related: functional, highly decorative, or specialized education/training. There are of course many pre-made items for purchase, but this place has the skill and soul for handmade custom or semi-custom work. We love to use our unique and beautiful tequila sippers, and stemless martini glasses that were made for us.
