For the last ten plus years my family and I have purchased very high quality meat from Skagit River Ranch in Sedro Woolley WA. It was always very tender and so flavorful! However, something has changed drastically with the meat from Skagit River Ranch! Recently, we got a very large order of meat. In it, there were 14 cuts of meat that were bad tasting, and of inferior quality. The flavor of the meat was extremely bland or it had a bad«liver» flavor. The filet mignons didn’t even look like filet mignons. They were small misshapen thin little pieces of tough meat with a bad«liver» flavor. We couldn’t eat them. The loose hamburger couldn’t be used because it had the same bad«liver» flavor. We are convinced that the meat they sold us did not come from their cows. It didn’t taste anything like their meat used to taste. The hamburger patties seemed to be just fine until we found a long human hair in one of them! We will never purchase meat from Skagit River Ranch again!

I am a long time customer of SSR. I have watched George and Eiko’s lovely daughter Nicole grow up.(She is often at the U District market on Saturdays.) We have visited the farm many times. Humanely treated, organic and truly free range, the quality of their products is amazing. As another reviewer said, the bacon! The eggs are great, too, if you can get there before they sell out. I am thawing a pound of the grass fed tasty burger as I write this review. You are what you eat, and I only want to eat the best.

To be perfectly honest. I have never been to the ranch. I do buy the products on a consistent bases from the Ballard Farmers Market. One word, BACON! The best bacon I have ever had, if I was an addict it would be bacon and only SRR bacon. I have had their Breakfast Sausage Links, and the Andouille Sausage, brisket, and the Polish Sausage. All are amazing. Check out their website, they are doing things right and sustainably. Great people with a great product!

We are into organic, humanely treated, locally grown meat and produce. The products from SRR are awesome. You can get it at the local farmer’s market or take a drive out to the ranch on Saturdays and see the farm. It’s a great experience to see how the animals live.

Certified organic farmers since 1998 who go the extra mile by not vaccinating their animals. The animals’ grazing areas are rotated continuously Spring and Summer. The benefits of grass-fed beef are enormous and worth the effort to get it. You can buy small portions or order in bulk, too. From their farm store(on Saturdays only) you can buy eggs, individual cuts of beef & pork, sausage, honey from their hives, and seasonal organic produce. I LOVE their short ribs. You can find their meat and eggs at various stores in Mount Vernon, Bellingham, Seattle, Mountlake Terrace, Federal Way, Tacoma, Kent and Enumclaw. And in 2010 at Farmers Markets in Seattle and the Eastside so I suspect selling at Seattle and Eastside Farmers Markets will continue!
