Just had to try the burger that everyone was talking about. Wife and I drove from Anacortes to try the Atomic Mushroom Burger with onion rings. It was everything you could want from a burger, cooked in an old caboose. The best hamburger of 2016, so far.

This isn’t the best burger I have ever had, but it’s a good burger. The blue cheese burger is a but too much for me, but their regular burger with the works is outstanding. The onion rings are huge and tasty. I can usually only eat about two because they are that big. I also really like their fries. They have this delicious creamy BBQ sauce that I could literally put on everything I eat. SVBE is located in a strange place, but I really like the way you pull up and order your food. This is one of the better places to eat in Sedro. A town with very little food options.

definitely the best burger &/or hot dog in the county — good value but it is a drive thru. Had a couple of orders screwed up(hot dog was quartered onto a hamburger bun — bad idea, pickle relish substituted instead of requested dill pickles, tomatoes added when«no tomatoes» requested, etc just little things) over the past 2 years and you don’t see it until you’re home, but most of the time they’re great — you can call ahead and just drive up & pick it up on your way to work, friendly service

Waited too long since I’d been to Skagit Valley Burger Express, so I drove out there yesterday and tried the Bleu Cheese Burger for the first time. OMG. so much cheese, so much flavor, loved it – but it comes with grilled onions which I hate so I had chopped raw onions, that was great. The only minor negative, I really prefer the crinkle fries which they used to serve, they were fantastic cooked to perfection. However, now their regular fries were really good but not my preference. Please start offering crinkle fries again, even if by request.

Best burger I’ve had since I moved to Washington. I’m not used to flame cooked burgers anymore, so it was a nice surprise to bite in and taste the char. Tasted fresh and they took my custom requests with a smile. For instance I read they used fresh jalapeño… so I had them grill them for me. Next time I’ll find out how fresh the grind is on the meat. If it’s done daily, I’ll get them medium rare which would set these off the chart.

AMAZING. The burgers are beyond perfect, ordered the Signature Deluxe Burger and the Atomic Mushroom Burger and French Fries, everything under $ 20. I kept dissecting with my eyes the whole composition of each burger, it’s amazing to say the least. The perfect combination of savory sauce on each level between the hand crafted and cut to perfection vegetable slices all the way to the most perfectly tender, soft and juicy beef patty and gorgeous and as if smiling right at me bacon strips. The buns are perfect to say the least as well, didn’t even opt for the gluten free version, the original one is just perfect. The fries and the house sauce topped off the whole experience. But probably the coolest experience had to have been the personal connection made by Barb(who owns this awesome place) as she came up to our car to make sure that we were as satisfied as she had intended us to be. It was amazing meeting the women who’s high energy and passion for burgers totally translates into the high level of satisfaction and pleasure these burgers contain within them. This place is worth the drive;) we even came from oak harbor to get a taste of these bad boys. Definetly will be back many times more.

March 16th, 2016 … I have read and seen many posts about how great S.V.B. are and today was my first time visiting the little caboose that puts nothing shy of a great hamburger. My daughter had the skagit Valley burger and I had the atomic and the onion rings and sauce was killer … double stamp day on Wednesday.. Word of mouth is the best advertisement. .will be shouting … thanks for chocolate shake sample by the way

I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s an hour drive from my house, and worth every minute on the road. It’s a small train caboose turned into a food kiosk, essentially. No indoor seating, and no bathrooms. But these are not«missing features» as some in here suggest. You wouldn’t complain about a drive through coffee stand not having indoor seating and bathrooms like Starbucks, and that’s the type of burger place this is so any complaints about that are simply misplaced. I’ve been all over the state for work, and trying new burger joints is my «thing». Skagit Valley Burgers is hands-down the best in the state, in my opinion. Some say it’s pricey, but I can’t understand that. You get a large fresh high quality burger with local high quality meat, fries, and a drink for about $ 10. How is that overpriced? For the quality, if anything, they’re underpriced. If you’re only concerned with cost and don’t care about health, taste, or quality then go across the street to the gas station McDonald’s. I often see so many people in line at that McDonald’s and think«Those poor schmucks have no clue what they’re missing!». Do yourself and your body a favor and try Skagit Valley Burgers. My personal favorite — atomic mushroom burger with blue cheese and their fresh jalapeños!

My buddy insisted that we stop by Skagit Valley Burger for lunch while I was visiting last week(he’s a very frequent customer). Admittedly, I was pretty eager to check this place out for myself to see if they really were that good, or if all the hype was simply the ramblings of a fool(both equally possible scenarios, I assure you). Now, based on the rave reviews I’d been hearing from said best friend, the bar was set pretty darn high. As we pulled up and I realized that we really were about to get lunch from an old train caboose on a corner gravel lot, the potential for disappointment appeared to be gaining ground. The owner greeted us with a smile and just had that«really-good-guy» persona. My buddy ordered his«usual»(…did I mention that he’s a VERY frequent customer???) with fries and tartar, and I ordered the Atomic Mushroom Burger, with jalapeños. The wait time from when we ordered until we got our food was just a couple of minutes, very reasonable considering the burgers are made to order. The owner thanked us sincerely for our business and wished us well. We made it just a few hundred feet away before parking the truck and diving in. The fries were crispy and lightly salted, just how I like ‘em. And the tartar sauce was delicious as well. Most importantly, the burger was ridiculous! The fresh, local, grass-fed meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly, the jalapeños were freshly sliced and not pickled(a huge bonus), the bun was amazing, the mushrooms, the bacon, the swiss,… Seriously, the burger was RIDICULOUS! It was easily the best burger I’ve had in years. The fact that THIS burger came out of THAT old train caboose is a paradox. It’s pretty obvious that the owner really loves what he’s doing, and he’s damn good at it. He’s the Walter White of the burger world. Using only the best ingredients, the product is far superior to anything else. The only downside to eating at Skagit Valley Burger is that now, every other burger joint is going to get compared to them and will probably just end up being a disappointment. Unfortunately it’s like an 11 hour round-trip commute from my house(… yeah, I looked it up on Google Maps as soon as I got home, so what? I’m not addicted or anything… I can quit any time I want… Man, I could really go for a burger right now…) so it’s gonna be a while before I can make a return visit. But I guarantee that I’ll be back as soon as I possibly can. Just keep doing what you do, man. Without a doubt 5 stars!

Today was our first time here. They gave all 3 of my kids an apple juice box which was awesome… the food was amazing and it was double stamp day so we’re already more than halfway to $ 10 off! My husband’s exact words were«I’ve found my new cheat meal». The onion rings weren’t really my style but I think most people would love them! We will definitely go back again some time. :)

Best kept secret of Skagit. Amazing burgers, fries and unique flavors. Worth the wait. Bottled beverages and house made tartar and ranch sauces. Next time you’re in the mood for a burger, come here, you will be glad you did.

As good as I remembered, if not better. The chicken burger with gluten free bun, fries and several amazing sauces was a wonderful addition to a Saturday. The staff is friendly and helpful, there’s covered seating and easy location to get to.

Stopped in for a burger and a coke after a long week of hiking in the North Cascades and the bacon cheeseburger with fries was exactly what I was craving. Ice cold bottled coke topped it off. The service was also excellent. Thank you!!!

Best burger I’ve had in Washington! The meat is seasoned perfectly, the toppings on the Skagit burger blend together perfectly, and the bun and patty are good sized and filing. Plus the meat is local, grass-fed beef! The fries are okay, but the fried pickles are amazing! Finally somewhere in Washington I can get fried pickles. Bob’s Burgers in Bellingham has them as well, but they aren’t anything to write home about. There are only two downsides to SVEB — the toppings can actually border on being too generous, and can make for quite a sloppy, messy burger; and the fact that I have to drive by it everyday which is like window shopping on a daily basis. Highly recommended!

My fries were overcooked once around Christmas on a busy night. I left a facebook review and promptly got a response apologizing and asking for us to come back and get them remade. I eventually decided to try it again and showed the owner the Facebook review, she immediately remembered and accomadated her offer. Our french fries AND burger was delicious. I will always remember how nice she was!

Epic foods. I love this place so much. Call ahead during lunch, sometimes the line can get long because they make your burger as you order. You’ll always be stuffed. The onion rings are hand beer battered. And everyone is super friendly. Oh, and don’t forget to check their fb before going to see their specials and fb only deals!

Best. Burger. Ever. We both ordered the Skagit Burger and it blew our minds. Great local, grass fed beef patty with lots of veggies. Perfect balance of meat, toppings, sauce and bun. Next the O-rings. Not to be overly gushy but they were also the best I’ve ever had. Nice, thick slices of onions hand dipped in batter. This is not fast food, it is a gourmet burger joint that’s food you just happen to get from a drive-thru window.
