Was looking forward to my services with my daughter since it was prom day. Mother and daughter day but WILLNOTRETURN!!! Had the worst massage ever! The woman who serviced me was absolutely terrible! Not customer friendly! If your not customer friendly, your in the wrong field! Worst massage ever! Arrived 10 min late and used the restroom, in the middle of the massage she said I’m going to have to cut your service since you arrived late and plus you used the bathroom! So upset, I said ok! So no leg massage! Unbelievable! Had a pedicure and manicure by another woman. She was excellent! I’ve been to many places and will not recommend it here to anyone! Please do your research and don’t come here, go elsewhere!

I’ve been here three times in the past — twice for a massage and once for a facial. The reception area is very stylish and the staff were always friendly. Quick to offer a refreshment while filing out the forms. I like the relaxation room you are led to unwind prior to your services but it could be larger or furniture repositioned or something — it makes you feel like someone is going to come out of any of the 8 doors in that room at any moment while your lounging in a robe… awkward. I loved both massages and left a happy ball of putty. Once I had a female masseuse and the next was male — they both listened to my requests and gave great massages. The esthetician that did my facial was very thorough in explaining the scan of my skin she had taken and suggesting correction methods and products without being pushy. I did buy a lip product that I used every last drop of! The facial itself was very relaxing and also left me happy and relaxed. My big complaint? — I must admit — the first time I came here I was disappointed. With«spa» in the name I had assumed there would be spa amenities. There really isn’t. Yes they have hair, nails, massage, etc. But no hot tub /sauna /steam rooms /showers. It is a beautiful place but do not expect to steam or shower off post service. It’s clean and beautiful and in a great location right on Route 6 in Seekonk, MA right over the East Providence line. I say book a massage or facial stat and relax for yourself!

On May 8th I had an appointment. I filled out a welcome packet which had disclosures and waivers of liability. Upon completion of my appointment I was told I was eligible for a free foil(coloring) and asked if I wanted to book that with a future appointment. I stated if it was free I would book the foil and a massage the same day. I scheduled my appointment for June 5th. At that time I paid with my bank debit card. On June 2 I received an email reminder for the appointment, I responded to this email canceling the appointment as I would not be available. On June 3rd I received a text message reminder. I replied STOP to the number as indicated in the text message. I checked my account this afternoon June 8th and there is a charge listed for $ 245. I was shocked because first and foremost I did not authorize use of my credit card with this company. I paid by debit card but nowhere in any disclosures, verbally, or otherwise does it state that my credit card information would be kept on file and later subject for charge. Secondly I was upset because I canceled the appointment and I assumed this is a cancellation fee. Third the amount of the charge far exceeded the services I had booked in May. I contacted the business to request a refund. I explained all of the above. I was told that they were not responsible for charging the card, the computer automatically charges, and that I signed agreeing to the cancellation policy. I reiterated I canceled the appointment and asked where it was that I authorized my card to be debited for future purchases. I also requested a copy of the forms I signed. The gentleman I was speaking to would not let me speak and kept speaking over me(Tom) I got upset and raised my voice he hung up when I said I would be filing a complaint. Upon receiving the documents via fax the associate circled the clause that said I needed to cancel with notice. Nowhere on the form did it say they had the right to charge my card.

I have been to Tranquil Waters twice now and decided it was time for a review… I suppose I should start from the beginning. Contacting them for an appointment can be uncomfortable. They really DO make you feel like they are doing you a great favor as another review said! A spa should be friendly and comfortable. The first time I went was for a massage after I received a gift card for my birthday. It was my very first massage so I admit at the time I didn’t have much to compare it to. I have since been seeing a LMT monthly, soo I know the difference! They have a «quiet» room that you sit in before the massage. It’s dark and maybe a little bit uncomfortable if you are alone. The second time I went was for a pedicure with my mom. It was her birthday so I really hoped it would be great! They ladies doing our nails were really nice and fun to talk to, but the appointment was really short considering how expensive it was. Other pedicures I’ve had you don’t leave until your toes are dry… at Tranquil Waters they spackled the Polish on nice and thick, then sent us to the aforementioned«quiet» room. They said in about 15 minutes our nails will have air dried to the touch. Hmm. Well. My nails were scratched and messed up by the next day. I was really disappointed.

I received a gift card to Tranquil Waters for Christmas. I was a little skeptical after reading other reviews but ended up booking a 50 minute relaxation massage($ 85) with Kristina. I used the online booking form which made the process very easy. I went in with low expectations and was completely amazed by the service I received. The facility is very nice, clean and professional. I was greeted by a friendly guy who took my coat and offered me a beverage. Once I filled out the initial paperwork, he took me to the relaxation room. This was a great place to unwind and wait for my massage. It was a dim lit room with calming music and waterfalls. Kristina was right on time. She took me to the massage room which was equally relaxing. She was very professional and gave me plenty of time to get undressed and under the sheet. She asked about my trouble areas and was very attentive. She was sure to ask me questions throughout the massage such as if the pressure was ok but wasn’t too talkative. I especially appreciated the heated table/blanket considering it was freezing outside. After the massage, Kristina took me back to the relaxation room and offered me another beverage. She made a few suggestions but did not pressure me to purchase anything or to book another appointment. I left feeling extremely relaxed and will definitely be back!

My wife bought a couple’s therapeutic massage package which included champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, and while I thought the«front of house» experience was fantastic(everyone you came into contact with was friendly, they took our coats, they offered tea/water, etc.), my massage was just ok. It was labeled a therapeutic massage so maybe that means the masseuse felt the need to dig into the muscles, but I definitely didn’t relax as much with other massages I’ve had at other places. To be fair, she told me to let her know if I wanted her to apply more or less pressure, but I was afraid to say to use less because I wanted at least some sort of a massage. The other thing too is that when I get a massage I want one in a quiet room with low lights and nice music so I can totally disengage from life and relax. The music was relaxing, but the lights were a little high and the room was right off the waiting area so you could hear doors closing, people using the bathroom, etc. If I was rating just on the massage it would be 3 stars as I frequent another place that offers a total relaxing(quiet) experience. However, my wife loves the guy she gets her pedicure/manicure from and she always raves about his service, so that explains the overall four stars. You can call this a hybrid review!

On the exterior this place seems like it would be a very nice spa. Unfortunately, it is overpriced and the customer service is terrible. The aestheticians have all been wonderful. The front desk staff are unpleasant. On one occasion, I tried to make an appointment and left 2 messages before receiving a return phone call and the receptionist was quite rude when returning my call. I had waited almost the entire work day before I had left the second message and she seemed annoyed that I had left a second message! On a second occasion, they actually merged my contact info with a second client with a similar name and would not allow me to make an appointment until I filled out my personal information(name, address, phone number, some health information), despite the fact that this was their mistake! They didn’t seem very apologetic despite the fact that I was concerned my personal information may have been compromised. For the amount of money they charge and the lack of courteousness that they provide to their clientele, I am surprised this place continues to do business.

I have tried this place for massage 3 times, really because it is so close to my house. Each time I was incredibly disappointed with the massage. I remember thinking to myself«how can there be a bad massage»? But this place has it. Once I booked an appointment requesting a woman therapist. I was nonetheless given a boy in his teens. he had cold hands and did a terrible job. I was told the gender of the therapist cannot be guaranteed. Another massage with a very young woman was too rough. Never again.

There is one reason and one reason alone why I, and hundreds of women(and men!) around MA and RI, enter the doors of Tranquil Waters: Mary Ann Pellegrino, Esthetician Extraordinaire. Besides being an absolute saint, she is meticulous, speedy, and knowledgeable about skin, and more importantly for me, about hair removal and waxing. As a half-Arabic and half-Irish woman blessed with an other-worldly combination of course hair and sensitive skin, waxing is a practice that is very important to my lifestyle and well-being. Mary Ann uses both soft wax with linen strips and hard Brazilian wax to target several cycles of hair growth, a combination that leads to an amazingly high-quality wax and slows re-growth. I have been waxed by Mary Ann over fifty times in the past five years and I have never once left her care with irritation, bruising, or a missed patch of hair. In addition, being in her company always puts me at ease and relaxes me — an important detail given the intimate nature of certain waxing procedures. The spa’s pricing is high — I get my full legs and a thong wax done for $ 120 plus tip. Other salons offer the same service for $ 80-$ 95 plus tip, but Mary Ann’s talent is worth every penny(the spa also offers a discount if you book several waxes at a time). She works only Thursday through Saturday, though, so book early! Regarding the other services that this spa offers — massage, make-up application, various cosmetic treatments, hair services, early-nineties décor, an underused café, and a gaudy gift-shop — I don’t have much to offer, besides the fact that I find the prices to be extremely high and the über-pushy owner makes me feel VERY uncomfortable. Since I followed Mary Ann to this spa from another salon in Providence three years ago, I have never once found a reason to try any other service offered by Tranquil Waters. Taking the time to drive down Route 6 in Seekonk solely for an hour or so with Mary Ann, however, is worth it.
