I’ve never been disappointed by a cupcake from Cupcake Couture! The carrot cake and the Boston Crème pie cupcake are both amazing. Also, contrary to other reviews I read, their cupcakes ARE made fresh every morning(I know someone who works there). I’ve never had an issue as far as freshness goes.

Horrible selection, horrible cup cake! I’m pretty sure my daughters white cup cake had been made over 3 days ago and my coconut cup cake was severely lacking. They are over priced for the quality, I will not be going back there!!!

The cupcakes at Cupcake Couture are amazing. The girl working at this location was so sweet too– one of the friendlier employees that I’ve met in the food service industry as of late. This was my first time at this location, and it was great. I’ve been to the one on Bandera and 1604, and the cupcakes are still the same/delicious, but I liked the customer service here better. I’ve had the chocolate on chocolate, cupcake couture, and an apple cupcake(sounds strange, but it led to a mouthgasm); they’re all incredible. They’re a little pricey though.

Cupcake couture is by far the best bakery I have been to for anything sweet! They even do custom orders depending on what you need. And their party space is so much fun! A great place for anyone in the family!

Great customer service, but didn’t love the cupcakes. Overpriced and way too much frosting.

I’ve enjoyed cupcakes from here for several years now. I’ve purchased many different flavors and buy ½ dozen at a time never once being disappointed. Always moist and full of flavor and fresh ingredients. That is my experience. Somewhat pricey but it’s worth it and I think that’s is the cost of most cupcakes elsewhere.

I know Cupcake Coutures secret. They prebake and freeze everything. It was so dry and crumbly. No moistness to it what so ever. So I ordered 30 cupcakes and spent a pretty penny since my son’s elementary school does not allow home baked treats. I have never been so disappointed and EMBARRASSED with bakery goods in my life.

I stopped by here on my birthday with my mom and grandma to get cupcakes. The place is cute and had great customer service, but I’m sad I didn’t enjoy my cupcakes as much as I was hoping. I bought one cupcake, It was yellow cake with chocolate icing. I think my mom got carrot cake and my grandma German chocolate. Just like any other shop I’ve been to the cupcakes sit out for display with the exception of some things that need to be refrigerated. The cupcakes were small in size. Pretty much the normal size you’d bake at home. I thought they would be larger. The cake was dry and crumbly and the icing had an unpleasant texture as if the sugar had crystallized. It was not a moist cake and creamy smooth frosting as expected. I’m assuming it was the time I went there it was evening a couple hours before close maybe they’re fresher earlier in the day. Unfortunately I won’t be going back.

OVERCharged!!! $ 4.50 for a cupcake which cost $ 2.99. Waitperson said that $.51 was for taxes because machine says $ 4.50 and that was correct. She said that she was new. Also they can’t have forks because they are a hazard. Avoid this place. Product were all on the front of their clothes. You would think by overcharging everyone, they would be able to buy their employees a plastic apron. Update! Menu was incorrect. Jumbo cupcake is $ 4.50 and there is no tax. Management has offered me a ½ dozen of free cupcakes as a remedy!

Cupcakes taste okay. Not much frosting and cost about as much as other chain cupcake places but the cupcake is much smaller. Biggest problem is they don’t have any forks. You either have to take your cupcake to go or plan on biting into the whole cake.

My boyfriend and I had a mini date here a couple of weeks ago. It’s a nice change if you are tired of doing the same things over and over again. We each picked a cupcake and sat down and relaxed. They have a lot of different choices and they all look amazing! I really like the wedding cake and the chocolate peanut butter cupcake. Only bummer is that they only had juice or soda for sale. We could have really used a bottle water to help with the sweetness! Overall a fun and girly place to go! Would also be great if you have little girls! They would be in heaven!

Ok, so I’ve had a handful of tasty cupcakes, and another handful of cupcakes that I thought lacked in flavor. Today I tried 3. Sadly, I was unimpressed with all 3. I tried the pink champagne, the strawberry and the Blue Moon. I was really, really wanting to like the Blue Moon after reading another review, but to me it lacked in flavor. The pink champagne also lacked in flavor. The strawberry wasn’t really lacking in flavor, but the cake part was dry… I also tried the pistachio awhile back and I wished I wouldn’t have… So with the complaints of the above mentioned cupcakes, why am I still giving it 4 stars? I have also tried some very delicious cupcakes that were awesomely flavorful. The peanut butter chocolate was heaven, The coconut was awesome and filled with coconut mousse, their cake balls are awesome, I loved their red velvet, their carrot cake is really good. I have yet to try the vanilla bean, but I will update the review when I do.

Had the red velvet and the peanut butter cupcakes. Both cakes were moist and icing was delicious! I tried this place when it first opened and was really disappointed. Watched cupcake wars today, craved cupcakes and bought them for my family. I will definitely be going back! They’ve made a huge improvement! And the ratio of cake and icing is perfect.

I had a red velvet cupcake. It was $ 3.24 by itself. A bit pricy to me. The cream cheese icing was uh-mazing! The cherry on top– yum! The cake was… well… dry. :(

My review is only for this location. They’ve changed their recipes or something! We decided to give them another try after almost a year and I’m so glad we did! DELICIOUS! They’ve definitely improved on their product. So far, our favorites are their carrot cake, red velvet, peanut butter & chocolate, cheesecake, and pistachio cupcakes. I’ve seen some of the cakes they sculpt and they’re lovely. They have a large space in the back set up for parties and other offerings on the menu that we will surely be back to try.

I’m no cupcake expert, but I can appreciate a stumbled-upon cupcake store. The Blue Moon cupcake was great, I LOVE Blue Moon and was thrilled to see that option. I tried the peanut butter chocolate, also delicious. Would I say they were the best cupcakes ever? Probably not. But they were better than expected. Good icing to cake ratio, moist cake, and good customer service. I was sad they didn’t have any Pupcakes when I saw the sign for them and can’t wait to go back and get a tasty treat for my dogs!

I’ve recieved these as gifts several times, but was excited when I actually saw the store during a shopping trip to the forum. I love cupcakes, but my favorite part is the frosting :) — and the frosting is yummy! The cake… I think depends on the cake you get. I’m not a big fan of the red velvet or some of the chocolates(some of my favorite flavors of cake) — but the carrot cake — OMG, is delish! So that is the one that we always get and we’re always satisfied with it. They also have some interesting combinations that might be worth trying if you’re adventurous — that the price point, I like to go for a tried and true favorite, but our last visit, my honey tried one that had some kind of pepper to it and said it was«meh, okay» — but he liked the idea of something new and different. The cupcakes are $$$, but in line with what many of the other cupcake places charge — so I made the mistake one time of getting two cupcakes — one for me and one for my honey — you should always try to get at least 6 or 12 in order to get the best deal. We buy 6 now and save a couple for later or give a couple away. Yes I know that you are spending less money with the two, but for what we paid, we could have gotten a whole cake or dessert from somewhere else and it would have been just as yummy(maybe not quite as pretty).

I wish these cupcakes were delicious, especially because I bought about 4 different flavors for my Mom’s birthday. She’s a pretty accomplished baker, so I was pretty embarrassed with how these baby’s tasted. I bought Pumpkin Spice, Chocolate Chocolate, banana nut(did not taste like banana whatsoever), Salted Caramel. The cake itself wasn’t the best or worse I’d ever had, but I will say that the cake is about half the size that Gigi’s is putting out. The frosting is really thick and rich. Not decadently rich, but stick of butter rich. It’s actually pretty chewy as well. Cake to frosting ratio is inappropriate. I’m shocked this is a franchise. Really not trying to be ugly but I won’t be going back.

I found out Cupcake Couture was opening a shop near where I live and I was absolutely ecstatic and started raving about how good is was gonna be to anyone that had ears, and yes that includes my dog. I had been to the Cupcake Couture on Bandera, and had nothing bad to say about that location, so I had pretty high expectations for the one opening in Selma. Granted this a late review, as I visited the Selma location around the time it opened, when I first walked in the décor was pretty much bare. There was nothing. Nothing like the little doll house vibe I got from the Bandera location. The workers were very nice though, but there wasn’t a lot of cupcake options. I know I got red velvet, italian, peanut butter chocolate, and the piña colada flavor one. They were OKAY. Something about them wasn’t outstanding like I had expected, which was very disappointing. Regardless I would go again to see how it is now and hopefully its improved.
