I have stayed here many times over the years as it is a convenient halfway point between my home in New England and my fishing spot in Florida. Several years ago the Regency Inn changed buildings from the one that used to be next door to their current one. Since then it has gotten very run down! The carpets felt like indoor/outdoor carpets that had gone moldy. The sink and bathroom areas had been wiped down but suffered from old stains. Towels were bleached white but were so worn they had the look and feel of old dishtowels. Sheets and pillow cases suffered wear holes and rips. The blanket had mystery stains. The bedspread had burn holes. Even the paint had many thick, sloppy coats. This place used to be OK but time and poor maintenance have really taken their toll. On the plus side, they are the cheapest roadside motel around. And did I mention that their free wifi didn’t work, credit card machine didn’t work, and their free morning coffee area didn’t have any coffee to make.
