Perfect place to stop for lunch. Clean, friendly, delicious and fresh food. Jams, pickles, pie, ice cream, soda, handmade burgers, rib baskets, homemade cookies and candy! Gifts too. Kids loved walking around and it was a nice break from a long drive.

We were driving through town and starving. I saw excellent reviews for this place and so we stopped. Thank goodness we did. This place is not only delicious, but the staff and customers were amazing! Everyone was so warm and nice. I think just about everyone that walked in the door said hello. There seemed to be quite a few locals there, which was so much fun. Definitely take some time to stop here to get a bite and walk around the store. You can smell the roasted pecans for free. :)

Very cute place to visit and the food was great. I had the Shrimp Po boy, very good with fresh home grown tomatoes! Husband had the Philly cheesesteak but said it was pretty bland. Fried pickles were great!

Saw the reviews and had to try it on our way home from Destin. We were not disappointed. I got the rib plate and hubby got the beef tips. Both come with 2 sides but we had to get some more sides: black eyed peas and extra baked beans. They’re soooo yummy, bbq flavored! I loved the ribs, they were seasoned so well you don’t need bbq sauce but it was the icing on the cake when added! I wanted to try the Fried Chicken mentioned by a reviewer but they didn’t have any. May offer certain items on certain days! Tons of homegrown fruits, veggies, and neat Southern collectibles. I wish they had more«small» sized shirts in stock, they were pretty picked thru though. Worth a stop if traveling this way for sure! Oh, I also got yellow plums, a true Southern thing! Eat them with salt and you’re in heaven!

We stopped here on our drive back from Destin, FL because I saw a large sign that said ‘homemade jam’. Score! This place is precious and has a little something something for everyone. It’s not just a market that sells fresh fruits, veggies, candles, home décor, tees, and jellies — it is a rib joint with a bonus: they sell crawfish by the pound. We arrived close to closing time, so we just ordered crawfish since a fresh batch came out and was ready to go. Very flavorful with the perfect amount of spice. I can only imagine the bbq being delicious since that’s what they are known for. Highlights: covered patio seating, clean bathrooms and cute sayings hanging all throughout the shop. Overall, a must stop pit stop when you’re passing through M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I. Can’t wait to try the seed-in raspberry jelly for breakfast tomorrow!

I’m a Mississippi native and grew up going to Shady Acres. This place is all of the best things about the South rolled into one. The food is true country fare — some of the best fried chicken around. They also have homemade jams and pies, fresh fruit and veggies(all seasonal, so you know it’s fresh from the farm) and the staff is always super friendly. I always stop by when I’m in town visiting family — just feels like home.

Mediocre burger and fries, portions were ok if your on a diet. Nothing special here except the price, apparently they are proud of it. I’m used to getting burgers I can’t finish for $ 10. The atmosphere is nice and everyone is friendly, I ordered to go so I don’t know how seating is.

Country food at it’s best. Simple old fashioned food in a very clean yet rustic atmosphere. They do plate lunches and sell fresh grocery items.
